Great breakfast food on 24-May-2026. This is an awesome diner. Service was quick and friendly. Route 66 has become my go to diner in Ocean City, MD!

Pretty aiight! They have low reviews which may be based on day and time or meal. They have plenty of servers, place was pretty empty. To be honest, it was not our first pick. Other spots were packed. However, simple menu. Most diners have pages and pages of options. They kept it simple. I was going to get a cinnamon roll but the pic of it looked small so I opted for the generously portioned shrimp and grits. Chunky grit with tons of bacon. Solid number of shrimp too. They weren't blackened, just well seasoned and grilled. My wife got an avocado BLT that came with crisp French fries and fresh bacon. Overall delish. I'd return if other spots were packed. They serve a decent flavorful meal.

I thought I was going to get my kicks on Route 66, but I was a bit disappointed. After a night out and before heading back to the hotel we wanted to grab some food. Being offseason there aren't many options that stay open later than usual. So you have to pick an choose. When we showed up here there were not many people inside. We parked, walked in, and lead to a booth. Menus were given and we placed our drink order. When you order a drink I swear they give you the biggest glass you can get so that you will not need to ask for a refill. I'm not going to complain on that. The menu is quite extensive, it can take some time to read over. In fact it did take some time to go over, good thing it did because the lack of service was present. When we did finally place our order I went with the Mother Road. Figured since we came to a place called Route 66, might as well pay homage to the namesake burger. Mother Road is an eight ounce beef patty, cooked to your liking. This is then topped with pepper jack cheese, bacon, onion rings, barbecue sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion. Served with fries and a pickle rounds out the meal. This wasn't anything to write home about. The toppings really outweighed the burger. In fact, there just were too many toppings. They almost watered down the entire thing. And to put onion rings and raw onion on a burger was a bit much in my opinion. The fries, really bland. You could tell that they were frozen and just put in the fryer. The amount they give you almost makes you overlook that they were fried a bit too much. What was more off-putting here was the staff. While we were eating our food some of the kitchen staff came out to have their meal as well. They were loud and obnoxious. And it wasn't just the kitchen staff, the wait staff chipped in a bit as well. Probably won't come back here as the food and service were just lackluster.

We were greeted as we came through the door by Nico. She seated us and also let us know she'd be our server. Very cute diner, music not loud. We took several minutes to decide on our order. Nico checked back a couple of times. We settled on Chicken Parm Sammy and Smashed Burger Tacos. Food arrived in less than 15 minutes. It was fresh, hot, and delicious. Huge portion of fries. Reasonably priced and great service all around. Highly recommend!

Run, don't walk, to this new addition to OC. This is elevated diner food, and we loved everything we tried. Fried zucchini was crisp and hot, w a tangy tomato sauce. The Chicken and Waffle Benny was outstanding. Great flavor combo when eaten together, but each element was delicious on its own. Juicy chicken, perfectly cooked eggs, subtle hollandaise, and that waffle was seriously the best I have ever had. The Route 66 Dream was the perfect traditional breakfast. Again, perfectly cooked eggs, tasty turkey sausage, nicely grilled toast and buttery grits. Service was on point, friendly w just the right amount of attentiveness, and the food arrived quickly. I will be back soon, I need to try that Coca Cola cake sundae!

Salisbury steak dinner at the Route 66 Diner OC MD.

Service was great and the Salisbury steak was very good. Too much to eat for dinner. Mashed potatoes and string beans sides were very good also. Set up like a diner with booths and tables as well as counter.

This place was good I'm not sure why it only has 1 star on here. It's nothing fancy but it's a good lower cost breakfast. The waitress was very friendly.

You can tell by color of the cream and the taste and look of the beef that it's garbage. I knew it as soon as she set plate down.

Had breakfast today. I can't speak to the entire menu but the creamed chipped beef was terrible and hash browns a close 2nd. I should have asked if they made their chipped beef, no way they do. It's Sysco bagged crap heated up. Hash browns frozen potatoes grilled to inedible. And not that I would have eaten it all anyway because it was just bad, but they don't give you much for $14. Anyway I tried it. I won't be back and if you're a fan of chipped beef, trust me, don't get it.

Extremely overpriced. Don't have things listed on menu. Definitely not a "diner". Poor service and not enough help. Plan to stay

Customer Service: Hands down the best we experienced during our 9-day family trip to OCMD. Karri, our waitress, made us feel like family, loved her. Jeff & Mike were professional, friendly, and made a point to engage with every table. Breakfast? PHENOMENAL. Best we've had, not just this summer, but in all our years visiting OCMD. My wife and son agree. Everything was homemade and cooked to order. No frozen shortcuts. Portions were just right, flavors balanced beautifully, and nothing overly sweet. Nashville Hot Stuffed French Toast: The bourbon and caramelized apples stole the show. Chicken was a fun twist, though next time I'd get it on the side to keep the sweet and spicy separate. You can skip the chicken altogether and save $4 if you'd like. Banana Foster French Toast: Mind-blowing. The kind of dish that makes you question everything you've ever called "breakfast." Plate was licked clean. Already dreaming of it for summer 2026. Creamed Chipped Beef over Biscuits: Shared this one. Generous portion, nostalgic flavor, clearly a recipe passed down and perfected. Triple Decker: My son had the chocolate chip pancakes, huge portion, perfect texture, and he loved every bite. Only minor con: straws come unwrapped in your drink. Not a dealbreaker, but something to note. Final score: 25/25. Solid A+. Verdict: Highly recommended. We'll be back in summer 2026, no question.

My boyfriend also got the platter but with scrambled egg and it was more like a folded egg - and was unfortunately really dry. The cookie French toast was delicious!! Always farm fresh eggs, and they repurpose the bacon grease to make soap, rather than send it to the landfill. I got the sausage & gravy. Big portion and pretty good, although, like so many other places that offer this dish, it would have been nice to have the option to add an egg or two. (And a nice upsell!) My wife got eggs, toast & bacon, and she asked to have the bacon CRISP. Either our server forgot to tell the kitchen, or key it into his POS terminal (it wasn't on the ticket) but the bacon came out limp & inedible for my wife. IMHO, this diner is geared for people that like dessert for breakfast, with many French toast options.
