Blue Moon Cheeseburger
Brandon A.

Stopped in for lunch today. The 1950's-1960's decor around the restaurant is unbelievable. There are so many cool things to look at while you dine. The menu had something for everyone. I ordered the Blue Moon burger which was a cheeseburger with a blueberry twist. Everything had good flavor. Service was fast and staff were friendly. No complaints from us!

Lobster grilled cheese

THE BEST LOBSTER GRILLED CHEESE I EVER HAD! This place is a must visit when visiting bar harbor, extremely unique and vibrant. I've never enjoyed a meal like I did here. The fries weren't the best but it's okay. The meal was pricy tho, I think I paid $44 but it's lobster so I'm not shocked. The service was great, everything was just perfect. I can't wait to come back here again!

First night in town on vacation we always get pizza. We settled on this place and sort of wish we hadn't. It's a neat place aesthetically speaking and the staff were friendly....but for a bowl of bisque and two small-ish (there are no "sizes") pizzas and two cokes it was $78 with the tip. The bisque was good, the pizza was average at best. I left hungry and mad I spent almost $80 on an overall mid experience. I won't be back, this trip or any other trip.

Blackened chicken green salad

Our food was amazing! Our server was very sweet and helpful. We had a wonderful experience. No reservations, walked up and had a table with no wait at dinner time on a Saturday night. The menu had so many great options and they accommodated a picky eaters palette with no judgement! The seafood alfredo was amazing as well as the salad. The vibes of the restaurant were great as well, with 50s and 60s music playing in the background. We will definitely be returning!

Caesar salad, islander special, shrimp scampi, Maine poppable burger, fish n chips, and a soup.

Caesar salad, islander special, shrimp scampi, Maine poppable burger, fish n chips, and a soup. Everything was okay but honestly meh. All the proteins were overcooked from the burger to the shrimp to the chicken. The clam chowder was amazing however. Blueberry wine was also good here. Cute decor too. Service was alright as well.

Route 66 restaurant decor

The food is fine, the service is perky enjoyed the section of the restaurant was quiet away from the bar scene Saturday night, couple of noisy college students that I'm guessing are having a fun filled night out in Bar Harbor Maine center areas.

Route 66 Restaurant entrance

This restaurant is an experience by itself. You jump back into time when you enter this restaurant. So many nostalgic toys, signs, various objects that we would've possibly seen in our grandparents homes. Our waitress was very cheerful and jested back and forth a little. The food is pretty good. The blueberry float is worth it. My grandparents loved the salmon and fish & chips. My niece and nephew had the chicken tenders and kids burger. The rest of my family tried their salads, onion rings, fried pickles, pulled pork tacos, and a few other items. The food is delicious and decently priced. Make your Bar Harbor experience memorable by taking your kids here. It's hidden a little. It's down a "hidden" alley but when you look down it you see the car hanging over the front entrance. Like I said, this is worth stopping at during your Bar Harbor trip.

Lobster Roll and Chowder

Route 66 Restaurant deserves far more stars than it currently has. We literally stumbled upon it since it's tucked away behind the shops. This is a fun, casual spot with Route 66 memorabilia covering nearly every surface, giving it a classic retro highway diner vibe. The staff was friendly, the portions were generous, and the food was genuinely delicious. We each ordered the half-and-half options, lobster roll with chowder and lobster roll with mac and cheese. The mac was good, but definitely get the chowder, even if you're sharing. The chowder was SO good. More than enough food at a decent price for the area

Felt like stepping in a time capsule! Loved the decor, from the old western vibes to the cars mounted on various walls. The servers were attentive, making sure we were settled in and welcomed. I ordered the Cuban Route 66 and it was overall good although the fries were mostly just in pieces when I grabbed to eat it. All in all, a good spot to grab a bite in Bar Harbor!

Lobster roll blt

We tried the lobster BLT, clam chowder, fried halibut sandwich, and bam shrimp Cobb salad -- all really good! The blueberry soda was a so tasty - definitely worth ordering. That said, our server really brought the experience down. He never checked on us, we had to ask twice for a lime (never got it) and when we asked for his name, he seemed hesitant -- probably because he knows he's not providing great service. It felt like he had a bad attitude from the moment we sat down. I won't share his name because maybe he was having a bad day but come on dude, there was maybe 5 tables in the entire restaurant. Still giving 4 stars because the food and drinks were solid, but the service definitely needs improvement.

Love this place cool environment, and Yum pizza .

This is the front of the entrance. Very great place to eat.

If your hungry and are looking for an unusual place to eat go to Route 66 restaurant. Great food, friendly staff, cool looking inside.

Was a great experience for dinning in Bar harbor down town area. Was tucked away hostess was outside. Not your advantage restaurant decor, lots to look at. The service was a bit slower. Food was average: Bluemoon burger- nothing special, a little overcooked Steak and cheese sandwich- Came out nice and hot but bun got soggy quickly. Hot&Sweet wings- really good, plump and had a good crisp!

Very underwhelming appetizers and lack luster drinks. I might just go for a shake next time or just the decor.

He did point out a few bottles to us that were really quite special and hard to come across. They had some Penelope variants that were unseen to me. I would come back in a heartbeat. My only request would be some overhead lighting in the place, needed a flashlight to see the food, but it was all presented so nicely, nothing to hide! I got the tenderloin. If you like lobster and steak, (which I do) the flavors were on point. I ordered medium rare and it was textbook. This has made the top 5 restaurant steaks on my list, and I've cooked, interviewed, and let's just say... been around. The chef should be quite satisfied The wine as we were told goes in order of dry to less. The Pinot noir from Oregon was absolutely perfect to pair. Miss Elizabeth B (6/25 Review),…read more I appreciate the time you took to go scorched earth on your recent review of Table Salt in Bar Harbor, ME. It was a motivating factor to visit the establishment, enjoy a lovely meal in a lovely town, and tip heavily. You claim to be a culinary source of authority. I think it's great that you own a Subway franchise in New York City, but I might hesitate from throwing around the word 'chef' too haughtily. I mean just because one wears a cowboy hat does not mean one owns cattle, am I right? Perhaps there were dishes on the menu that one could argue were overengineered, but they tasted great! And consider that you have no idea where in the culinary journey their chef is, nor what the market needs or will bear in Bar Harbor. The place was packed. Service was great. Food was divine! On a Tuesday night. Maybe next time you visit a restaurant, leave your Michelin yardstick in the trunk of your broomstick, and simply relax. Or possibly return to Bar Harbor Bicycle Shop, another establishment you experienced through your Vantablack-colored glasses and blew up on this site. I'm sure they would zealously rent you another bike if you promised to venture into Acadia and get lost. Cheers!

Spend that time wandering Main Street's shops, because the wait was worth the bite. The shrimp and scallop scampi arrived swimming in garlic, butter, and pasta (perfect fuel before a half marathon). My uncle's fish and chips delivered an actual deep-fried slab of fish, somehow golden and perfectly cooked.
