Great food and great service. I read alot of reviews about cry babies combining about the staff and masks. I say bye Felicia. This restaurant is amazing. The service is always top notch and I'm glad they're not caving into the tyrant turd governor we have. No mask, thank you. If you don't like, I'm sure you also wear condoms while walking around to protect yourself and also wear masks while driving solo in your vehicles like idiots. Typical small town restuarant with bar area and lotto room. Food is good enough. Was not wowwed by anything on the menu. Bar is just ok. Expect to find your usual run of industry "lifer" ladies that tend to gossip way too loud for a professional environment. My wife ordered a burger with a lettuce bun. Waited far too long to try this place out. Came for Prime Rib Saturday and was blown away. We were seated promptly and drinks followed very shortly after. Decided to try out the homemade spinach artichoke dip and the beer battered pickles and both were DELICIOUS. Best part? We were given a significant amount of time to enjoy the appetizers before our food came out, which isn't something I experience very often. Staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and the general feel of the restaurant was comfortable and relaxing. Prime rib was outstanding, along with the sides and we can't wait to return. read more

The server was friendly and fun, but forgot my salad and omitted the brisket from my brisket Mac and cheese. Didn't check back to see if we wanted another beverage, and there seemed to be a lot of chaos between the servers and kitchen staff. This here has become one of our family favorites. When my dad comes into town we all meet here. As you enter, expect to be greeted with friendly staff. The restaurant is always clean, I love the decor which is embellished with a rustic vibe, and the food is off the chain. Get ready to unbuckle that belt or top button to let your belly spill over. The dish that stands out to me is the Smoked Brisket Dip. Each bite, I had to tell myself to slow down .. control yourself girl. You're making a scene... lol. No but for real, it's the best sandwich I've had up until now. The fries are great, my side of ranch was good, oh and the Bloody Mary the bartender made was exactly what that drink is supposed to be. Had all the goodness in it along with a kick she added after asking me if I liked it spicy. So yes... get in there and try some amazing food along with a cocktail! Waitress was super nice! My family and I came in for a special dinner (4 of us) and ordered the prime rib, New York steak and a brisket dish. Basically nothing had much flavor and no one was impressed. After $180.00 you would think that we would all be leaving so happy! My sister couldn't really eat the New York steak because of how salty it was. The bourbon dish was extremely strong. Maybe we all just ordered on a bad night. I don't know. I've been a fan and patron of Annette since her Westgate Cafe on Wallace Rd. in W. Salem, then later at her Edgewater St. locale. Just had breakfast with a friend today at her new location, Route 99 in Brooks (used to be Iggys bar). The food and service were excellent - easily up to Annette's usual high standards. Great food, decent prices, and friendly, attentive staff who keep the coffee comin'. And as she so often does - she came out to say hello and chat a bit. Always a nice personal touch! They follow all safety protocols, she and all staff wear masks, and properly distanced tables are immediately sanitized after patrons leave. Yet Annette has gone far beyond the "outdoor tent" atmosphere of so many restaurants trying their best to comply with stentorian COVID mandates. She's managed to create a truly inviting (even cozy!) outside back patio eatery with plenty of heaters and even lap blankets if needed (we were warm without them, despite the slightly chilly morning). I hope restaurants can continue to operate during these difficult times. So many are struggling to keep the lights on and some have closed for good. If you love eating out - - SUPPORT ANNETTE! She's been the woman behind one of Salem area's best restaurants for years, and she STILL is. We will definitely be back. read more

I really, really wanted to like this place and was excited to try it. Food was decent. Service was not. Zero compliance on COVID regulations. None of the staff wore masks, no distancing (waitresses stand right next to you and talk unmasked to take your order), etc. I know this attracts a certain type and that type isn't me. read more

Food is great with no complaints, but their fly issue is real concerning. We were seated outside and the table had 4-5 flies going around taking over the area. They were so comfortable they'd land on you without hesitation. Asked to be moved inside and were placed in the outdoor seating that's closer to being inside. About halfway into our meal the winged terrorists started making their rounds. They showed no mercy coming in swarms. This was probably their plan to try and confuse us. Table. Napkins. Plates. Arms. Food is always great, would give them 5+ stars for that. Everything we've tried has been good, but......the reason for 4 stars is because, we always sit in the bar because of the higher tables, I'm tall and have a bad back, and the bartender/servers back there are at best hit-and-miss on service-unless you're one of their regular cronies. They seem to spend more time talking to each other than attending to customers. If you are looking for one of the best meals in the county, this is the place. My partner and I stopped in today (4/10/21) for breakfast after reading the awesome reviews posted on Travelocity. There are 3 things I look for when it comes to eating a morning meal at a restaurant: good food, good coffee and good service. This place well exceeded all three expectations. And the portions were generous but not ridiculous, spacing of tables met social distancing, the restrooms were clean, parking was adequate, the prices were fair and although it sits on a busy street there was no traffic noise. If you are In Brooks I would recommend stopping in at least for breakfast - we have planned to return to experience other dining options . read more

Been going there for so long we sometimes forget just how large their portions are. If you go there hungry and leave hungry you clearly have ordered the wrong items. Usually go there a couple of times a month. Staff is super friendly and is always accommodating to my service dog. Melissa has been our server a lot and d has remembered my mum's order so much that she has to tell Melissa that that she wants to order something different. Weekend breakfasts are quite large and enough to share for two moderate eaters. One item that they took off the menu was one of my favorites meals was the three "mini" sliders when in fact nothing was mini about it. Consisted of one pulled pork, smoked brisket and one hamburger with all the fixings all with a pile of fries, waffle fries or Jo-Jo's (the best) best value for the lunch. Came here with some co-workers, this place is absolutely fantastic. We had gotten the fried pickles and artichoke dip both were amazing and had great flavor. I also had gotten the brisket chili and that was by far the best chili I'd ever had 10/10, I also had the Mac and Cheese with Brisket and it was delicious absolutely a killer. We have been here for breakfast three times and dinner once since opening and cannot day enough good things! Breakfast is home cooked, hearty and delicious and the M-Fr $4 mimosas are more than generous. Dinner was 4/5 stars due to dry potatoes and slightly bland meat on that night but we are definitely going to try again and explore the menu. So sad to see the negative reviews due to the over reaching covid policies.
