I suppose unless you're a "regular" at this establishment, you will be ignored and neglected…read morebecause clearly they don't care about new customers which my father and I were today around 4pm ish on. Monday afternoon....Having to wait nearly an hour for a hoagie and 6 wings whenever there was only maybe 8-10 total patrons after placing our order is inexcusable with that tiny bit of clientele in the building during the time of ordering......very expensive for what you get too, and also the place was disgusting! The floors and the bar top were sticky like multiple drinks were spilled all over and were never cleaned up. Never again!

We were promptly seated. After being seated our waitress kind of disappeared. She eventually reappeared, but it is obvious regulars are favored here. We placed our drink orders the same time as our meals. My wife and I both ordered draft beer and felt they tasted flat. I ordered one of the specials (pot roast) and it was supposedly sold out, 90 minutes after the on sale. Minimal to no check ins. My wife had a fish sandwich and had to ditch her soggy bun midway through. I'm in no rush to return. Portion for the pot roast was beyond lackluster. Atmosphere was average at best. Definitely more quality options.

I said , no i'm 30. He said well if you would have given me your IDwe can go from there. I said don't have an attitude with me while I was getting out my ID . & he said OUT. Man... I know I review and check in to Abjuration Brewing a LOT. I can't help it though because I…read morehaven't reviewed it in a while and I continue to go often. What can I say?! Abjuration is awesome! Honestly we are probably there at least once every few weeks. They generally do a new release or two each week so there is always something new to try. They announce each release on Facebook. They offer online ordering and then allow two weeks to pickup. They make the whole process easy. Oh and even better you can order single cans so if you are unsure if you will like something or just want some variety you are set. The staff here is phenomenal. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. They are knowledgeable and happy to help you find a beer you will truly enjoy. I have witnessed them go above and beyond to make sure a customer was happy with her experience. They recognize the regulars and always offer a greeting. It is one of the things that makes this place special. They have a beer garden set up now with picnic tables and a fire pit. It's nice because it offers up extra space. I have heard people ask what Abjuration is known for. It seems to be for their "weird" beers. Honestly they have some of the widest variety of beers anywhere around and yes that includes some weird ones. They are the brewery responsible for getting us hooked on sours. They make sours with herbs that drink more like a cocktail. They have sours made with ice cream or candy (or multiple candies in one) or straight fruited sours. They truly run the gamut. They always have some basic easy drinkers on like a lager, a brown, a Kolsch, etc. I have heard their IPAs are good (though I'm not an IPA drinker). They don't do stouts often but have put out some good ones. They also have done a few different rice wines that are unique and delicious. Abjuration just keep doing what you are doing and killing it. We have been there since Day 1 and will continue to show up.

My wife and I arrived in Pittsburgh and wanted a place with excellent food and a great atmosphere…read moreto watch the hockey game. Bonus points for being in Mount Washington, which allowed us to ride the Monongahela Incline up and the Duquesne Incline down. Yes it was a bit of a walk but Bigham Tavern was worth it! It was a Monday night, so there was also live music. Crowd was reasonable and we were seated at a comfortable table with a good view of the television. Our waitress was awesome, so patient! Her patience was tested because we don't drink much and wanted to order the food gradually throughout the game. We benefited from happy hour pricing for a tasty pickle dip and glasses of wine. We added some outstanding wings, so many great flavors to choose from! Next phase was an outstanding gluten free pesto and mozzarella pizza! Crust was too good to be true! The game was rough at first but turned around in time for me to order the Big Ham sandwich with a side of kale salad. The sandwich was delicious and served on a pretzel bun. The kale salad was an awesome side dish, tons of flavor! The game kept improving and we enjoyed the rest of it in the bar area with some great fans. Lots of televisions. Great neighborhood vibe! Will gladly return when we're back in town!

However, the current owners named it after its original name (Bigham Tavern) paying homage to its historical value on the Mount. The food is always good (if you like wings, they're known for them) and the brews are always cold. It's a true representation of a Pittsburgh neighborhood with its food, decor, and people. They host events like trivia nights and other things. TV screens for the big games. They do a great weekend brunch.
