Now for what I came for - the roll. I got the warm roll with butter and I give it a 4/5. The bun was perfect and the sauce was so flavorful, but as for the lobster itself, it was not the melt-in-your-mouth lobster I expected. Took a lot of chewing for a $42 roll. The restaurant was busy, a reservation better so you don't have to wait. The booth high top tables were cozy and great for a date. The booths made it more intimate for conversation. There were lots of high tops and great bar space. It had modern lines and fixtures. The food and drinks were delicious. The server for our table was attentive when we needed water, more drinks, asking if everything was alright, if something spilled or food dropped on our table he worked wipe it up immediately. Draft beer is excellent. - Substance IPA is gold, hazy, with medium white head and wisps of citrus, floral hops, medium bitterness with medium body and smooth finish. I had dinner here with my family during our trip to Boston. The restaurant was nice enough to accommodate our party of 12 on the last minute reservation. The place has a classy style and relaxing atmosphere, which is suitable for date night, romantic dinner, or party in the private room. Service is excellent, my cup of water is never empty. We ordered a lot of dishes and I personally recommend the clam chowder, crab cake, oyster, and lobster roe pasta (they added the lobster roe into the pasta noodle). Mmm, not so great. It's a pretty hyped up place, but my solo dinner was nothing to write home about. Sat at the bar, as I was by myself. Server was nice, and pretty attentive. The food was mediocre. Started with a blue crab cocktail. The crab was fresh and good, but the créme fraîche just about overpowered the crab. Presentation was, well, a jar in a great big platter of ice. For my main I had the seafood paella. I asked if they could do it without mussels, which they were happy to do, but instead of adding more of the menu items, they included calamari (which I don't care for). Not sure why - why not add more clams and shrimp? Or ask? Anyway, that's not really the reason for the mediocre label. This was not like a paella, and I would be surprised if it was all cooked in the pan together. Certainly no socarrat. It was more like the rice had been prepared separately and apart from the seafood, and then added in later. No real blending of flavors, and pretty un-spec-tac-ular. There seems to be a lingering disconnect in customer service--particularly around how guests are greeted, whether dining in or picking up takeout. A warm welcome shouldn't feel like a luxury; it should be standard. In terms of value, the portion sizes at this location are noticeably smaller than expected for the price point. Several dishes also skew overly oily... It's disappointing because I genuinely wanted to enjoy this location. She always showed up at the right time, I never felt like she was overbearing and I can't remember a time where I had to look for her. Loved her energy and she was very knowledgeable about the menu--excellent recommendations! Also, despite the restaurant being pretty busy, the we did not have to wait long for our drinks and food. This Row 34 location is pretty spacious and even when busy, it can get a noisy but doesn't feel too loud. The only thing to note for me is that the music can be a little too noticing sometimes and give you a bit of whiplash. Parking is readily available, shares parking lot with Burlington mall. Drink highlight: Obachan This cocktail is very smooth but still boozy. I think it's a great drink for people who are looking for something refreshing, fruity, and slightly sweet. Food we got: - The tuna with avocado and black garlic aoli was very, very creamy and the black garlic definitely came through. I did personally add a pinch of salt, and I think a splash of lime to brighten up the creaminess a bit would be perfect. - Cornbread with maple butter: Crumbly but moist and the maple butter was just the right amount of sweet and paired perfectly with the bread. I do wish there was more butter though. - Oyster bar: Great selection, fresh, no notes. Our favorite is wellfleet--creamy and slightly sweet -Blue crab: Too much Crème fraîche, I wouldn't personally get it again. Not really worth it for the cost. -Mini shrimp tacos: a bit expensive for the size of them (~$4/taco) but taste wise they were flavorful (squeeze the lemon for sure) and the crispy texture was right on -Clam chowder: I didn't personally like it as much as the rest of the food we got. I wish there was more clam and I wasn't a huge fan of the bacon. The cuts of bacon inside were generous and tasted great, maybe it's just not my thing. I recommend adding a couple cracks of black pepper in this one too -Swordfish: highly recommend trying! A very hearty swordfish steak and seasoned very well. The chickpea purée added a nice creaminess to it and the fish it self was tender and not stringy. I was a bit worried that the overall texture of the dish would be too mushy, but the fish had just the right amount of chew. Great selection of vegetables to pair. - Halibut: Well seasoned and moist, creamy sauce with a good portion. No notes -Banoffee pie: I thought the top was whipped cream of some sort, but it had a sort of moist and fluffy meringue. The crust was a bit too hard, which made it difficult to get pieces off with a fork. I also wish the bananas were just a bit softer; I think grilling them slightly would be perfect (caramelize and soften them a bit). The sauce for the banoffee pie was tasty and not too sweet, no notes there. Overall, great dessert and not too heavy. read more

For the table we ordered a selection of oysters and they were good and fresh. For drink I ordered the strawberry margarita (it originally came with jalapeño but I asked for it to be removed) it had a hint of the jalapeño but it was not spicy. For main dish I really just wanted a clam chowder soup. It was good portion, really tasty and it came with this sort of pastry dough to dip it in the soup that was really good. We had a great experience for Dine Out here. The portions were generous and we were all stuffed by the end. Our waitress was super sweet and helpful- asking if we wanted to start with anything raw, and showing us the cards where we could write that order down, asking us if we wanted drinks, including with dessert, and generally checking in on us. My friends and I enjoyed the ceviche, but thought that maybe it should have been called a shrimp cocktail instead, because it had more of those flavors than ceviche flavors (though the cucumber and mango were great additions). & I really enjoyed the chips that accompanied, with some surprise sweet potato chips in there as well. I ate all the al dente lentils and vegetables that came with my salmon entree but had to enlist the help of my boyfriend to finish the salmon, just because it was a very large piece. I think my favorite was the dessert. Even though I was stuffed, I slowly savored the whole thing- delicate whipped cream, rich sweet butterscotch pudding, pieces of crunchy toffee. Highly recommend during popular hours since it was pretty busy when we went. Restaurant ambiance was well setup, but very very dim as it is for nicer restaurants. We started out with some seafood from the cold bar. Everything was very fresh. I had my first raw oyster too. Waitress said it was small but that thing was huge. Everything was huge, the half lobster might as well have been a whole lobster itself. We got some clam chowder. Loved the home made saltine cracker. The chowder is the thickest I've tasted here. Also love the thick cut bacon. We got both the creamy and butter lobster rolls. The creamy is the classic cold lobster roll where as the butter is hot with butter. Personally I love butter so the hot butter lobster roll was my preference. Mussels sauce was pretty standard and croquettes were also good but the cold bar, clam chowder and lobster rolls were definitely the highlights for me. read more

We went for lunch - our second visit to this place. Both of us had the oyster slider which were delicious as they were in the past. I had calamari which was also excellent. We shared shoestring fries and a side of coleslaw. My friend had the swordfish pastrami- an unusual dish and not to be ordered again. We did not have any wine which we have given up at lunchtime and ended with coffees. It is a well designed place, modern and comfortable, part of a chain. The food was good except for the swordfish. Fantastic! Row 34 has a bunch of amazing seafood options, raw and cooked, and cocktails to pair in an upscale setting. Something that I really appreciate is the simple menu and the fact that they execute everything really well. We came in with a work group and got a number of appetizers along with the seafood tower which was impressive to say the least. The tower has a dozen oysters, jumbo shrimp, mussels, ceviche and a chilled lobster on top, you know, to top it all off. We also sampled the tuna tartare, chowder, fish tacos and more. The chowder was my favorite. Hearty chunks of bacon are what sets this chowder apart. A tablemate even said that he thought it was almost more of a bacon chowder than a clam chowder, but then then next bite would be full of clammy goodness. This quickly became one of my favorite clam chowders in New England! It's served with a house made cracker which was salty as heck, but very nice for dipping and didn't get soggy. read more

I didn't get that here at Row 34 (although, super happy I don't ever have to drive to Boston ever again to try this place), tasted like it's been in ice too long. Also, I appreciate the spicy dip, but couldn't mesh it with the oysters. The butter tasting one (friend said tangy) didn't do it either. My friend ordered the lobster roll and it had zero flavor. The potato chips were pretty good though! Because I wasn't satisfied, I went for the Grilled Salmon, which for the most part, did the trick! I loved the veggies and sauce mixed with the quinoa. The only downside of the salmon was the salty olives. It looks nice on top of the salmon, but really ruins the dish for me. For food and service I give Row 34 four stars. Our server was amazing - very happy to spend a little time explaining options and truly happy with her job. The clam chowder is insanely good, with red potatoes and bacon. Nice choice of mixed drinks, and rumor is they spend time creating new ones every couple weeks. My one complaint is that the check comes way too fast for a relatively slow evening, and getting seated outside was a challenge due to staff shortage. We've been here twice over about 5 months and the food quality seems uneven. The lobster roll is rather pricey for the quality and the crab cakes are meaty but slightly under seasoned and lack that satisfying crisp exterior texture. Fish tacos were alright but nothing stood out. The fish and chips was really where the unevenness showed most. My husband loved it when we first tried it months ago but now it misses the mark. This was all the more disappointing since we brought a friend based on these expectations, and he didn't have a good experience. read more
