I am a local to Eureka Springs and I frequent this establishment. The staff are very friendly and they have a great Prime Rib on Friday and Saturday nights. Also, I recommend the catfish and the salmon... both are REALLY good. The burgers are great also, top of the list are the prime rib sliders. They have a full bar and COLD beer on tap. We come here regularly for years to watch football. And now for some stupid reason they won't allow any volume for the games. What kind of sports bar won't let you listen to the games? NOT A SPORTS BAR THATS WHO! We have never had an issue until their new "manager" John came in. He was also VERY rude when we requested to turn up the game. The only place in town that plays the games and no sound is available. Historically our favorite bar tender, Misty, has gone way out of the. Way to be certain we had a wonderful experience. This is absolutely not her fault. We are not the only ones that are mad about this. We happen to sit next to other locals, here for the same game we want to watch. Well we ventured back, to eat dinner this time. We thought they would have live entertainment but the waitress said something happened to the band so it was just a free jukebox tonight. Funny, the sign in the bathroom clearly stated that was the plan all along so she lied. So let me go around the table-the chicken ranch sandwich was too spicy as if it had buffalo sauce. The 8oz sirloin I ordered medium came out and was paper thin and cooked way too done. The salad bar was less than optimal. The green bean appetizer was too done, almost burnt tasting or in some old grease. My favorite was the chopped steak. It comes out covered in gravy. My friend complained and the waitress only said "sorry". He told her the menu did not say it came with gravy. Later, she confirmed same but yet still didn't offer to do anything. Sad thing was he said the "gravy" which was the only good part of his whole meal. We've decided to call this place the Brown Badger. It was just bad service, no atmosphere, EXTREMELY TOO SMOKY. Went here on Valentine's Day and Mardi Gras weekend for the advertised special with a party of 8. We called ahead at 5:15 said they did not take reservations but they could accommodate us if we arrived soon. So we left hotel asap to beat the dinner rush. We arrived at 5:30 pm. Checked in at the hostess desk which was not staffed. After a 10 minute wait of no hostess, my husband walked over to the bar area which was serving the full menu and had several empty bar tables. It was maybe at 20%. I crossed my own name off at the hostess table that had finally come back to his station 5 minutes earlier. 15 minutes of no hostess. Finally at 5:50 we sat down in the bar at a table for 8. We were greeted nicely and ordered drinks. Alcoholic/Soda Drinks came out within 10 mins and we ordered our food. At exactly 6:03 we ordered our food (for the first time. ) I know this because we had texted a few friends where we were and they later joined at a separate table. My husband and I ordered the Prime Rib Advertised Special, loaded baked potato and 2 salads. Others at our table ordered the Prime Rib, Ribeye, and Chicken Fried Steak. Sides ordered were baked potatoes, salads, and Mac and Cheese. We also ordered appetizers Beaver Balls, Fried Pickles and Potato Skins. 30 mins into our wait for the food. The waitress came out and said they were out of salads??? (Are you kidding me, it's lettuce) She said give me a few and I'll be back. 15 minutes later she comes back out and says we are out of all Prime Ribs and the lg Ribeyes??? Now in the process of the 45 minutes waiting to find out what was going on with our food we NEVER COULD GET OUR DRINKS REFILLED??? She brought us a pitcher of water to serve ourselves. I had to go to the front bar ordered 3 Titos vodkas/mixers and a draft beer. Then I had to go to the front of the restaurant to get 2 Teas and 2 Pepsi's. Finally as I am bringing everyone's drinks back the appetizers came out. She changes everyone's order to update to the food that they do have left and walks away. No plates, no silverware and no napkins???? The bar gave us 2 napkins for a party of 8 to share. (Not kidding) Tired of waiting I go to the bathroom and get paper towels for us to use. Finally 1 hr later we have our magical salads served with plastic forks. Still no napkins. After a total of 1 hr 50 minutes later our food appears. Ok so the steaks no one received the correct steak out of 7 of us!!!!! Not one of us. They were mixed around completely with the wrong sides?? And we did NOT change seats or go out of order when ordering. Our waitress did NOT care and never returned. The mashed potatoes were instant, gravy was packaged. Good news chicken was done. Steaks terrible first time in years I used steak sauce but damn I was hungry not to mention wrong steaks served to wrong people. Mac and Cheese literally cold wet noodles with shredded cheese on top that was NOT melted and there was water in the bottom half of the plastic bowl. Loaded baked potatoes how this can be screwed up is beyond me but it was. Potatoes were only 1/2 done. I'm not even to the best part yet. They gave us steak knives with plastic forks to eat Steaks with????? Seriously stop laughing yes it's true. To top it off our lovely efficient waitress never got us another drink since the first one we ordered, none of us!!! So here's my recommendation to the owner. 1. If you advertise a dinner special make sure you have enough or don't advertise it. Plain and Simple 2. Your cooks need to learn how to prep/cook your simple food, read an order and apply such order to the correct plate. Not rocket science here. 3. Train your waitresses and be properly staffed for a busy holiday. Call your mom, sister or even friends to come help you. Do NOT have one waitress for the bar that seats over 100+ and working the dining area. 4. If you want someone to wait for your nasty food that is not properly plated with plastic forks. For the love of mankind please serve us alcohol to keep us happy and our minds off of our nagging stomachs. Our party of 8 comes to Eureka often and have never been treated this poorly anywhere. So newbies save your time, money and energy and go somewhere else. This is NOT a good place for their dinner specials or a sit down dinner with friends/family. On a plus side I tried the new McDonald's Deluxe Quarter Pounder and it was better than Rowdy Beavers Mystery Steak I was served. This message is not meant to be mean and malicious. We visited the Rowdy Beaver for drinks & dinner on Friday, 9/13/19 and had a great evening while Tessie tended bar. She's a great bartender, very friendly and her Cadillac/Top Shelf Margarita's are the BEST in town! Beer is also ICE COLD! I came here last year, and remembered it being good. This time, our food was barely edible. My boyfriend left half his steak on the plate. My chicken fried chicken was over cooked. And the gravy was cold. The potatoes were old and had obviously been sitting for a while. Neither of us finished our food. The only saving grace was that our waitress was friendly and checked on us often. The worst part is we paid nearly $70 for our meal, and left half of it on the table. My expectations for any restaurant are that one, the waitstaff know the menu well enough to answer questions about items on the menu and two, anything that is on the menu should be worthy of being there..... Well, expectations not met.... The turkey wrap was bland, suggestion: skip the iceberg lettuce, for as much lettuce as was on there, it wasn't worth the nasty taste...the menu description made it sound like a great sandwich, no flavors described on the menu were present.... to the rescue came Tabasco!!!! Suggestion: use Spicy Ranch Dressing, if you want to use something store bought OR chop some shallots and fresh parsley, mix into some mayonnaise and use that as the spread.... Great Place - we visited this place 3 times in two days. Great staff. The service was outstanding. The value for the food was very good. The menu was large and extensive, and included everything that my wife and I were looking for. The beer was also cheap, and there was plenty to choose from. I had the grilled chicken with veggies, and it came with a soup and salad bar. Soup was very good, a beef broth base with chunks of steak in it. Salad bar was plentyfull, and my chicken and veggies were outstanding. My wife had the french dip and was very pleased. Would reccomend this place to anyone staying in Eureka Springs looking for a good meal and drink without spending 25 dollars a plate at the other local rundowns. read more

If I could leave a negative review, I would! I don't know what their food is like but if you're in a band and get booked at this place, DO NOT DO IT! That is unless you're a band who doesn't play at any sort of volume. We were told to turn down, twice. After 45 mins of playing, the owner comes up and asks us to shut it down and leave and that she'll pay us half of the agreed upon amount! We start packing our gear and the wait staff immediately run over and start playing AC/DC and Aerosmith on the jukebox, which is as loud if not louder than the volume that we were playing! My first visit to Eureka Springs and this was my introduction to local food. It was not the worse food I have eaten but it could have been better. There are three entrances, on for the bar, one for the store and one for the restaurant. Signs are posted but you do need to look for them. Once we figured out how to get in we had to go looking for someone to seat us. (it was posted, wait for waitress to seat you) We were finally seated and offered drinks. We ordered fried green beans for an appetizer, they arrived lukewarm in a basket with ranch dressing. My sister ordered a chicken dish and I ordered their "famous" bourbon steak. When our meals arrived the food was warm, the baked potato was not hot enough to melt the butter patty. The chicken was tough and not eatable, my steak was well done (as requested) but a little on the dry side. We had to request condiments they were not offered. We should have read the yelp reviews before stopping here. We won't be making that mistake again!!!! I do not recommend stopping here unless you are desperate and just can't wait to get back into town. read more

We ended up returning to this restaurant in 2015 after having a bad experience with subpar food in 2014. They had completely revamped the menu and remodeled. Food was great!! Service was great!! Definitely stop by and try them out if you are in the area. Nothing but great things to say about the place. Will be returning soon this year on vacation. read more
