Unfortunately, a problem many salesman have is not listening. I called to ask specifically for a 1/4 fireplace gas key, and told him I cannot use the universal keys as they are too thick. He assured me he had them, said i had one in hand. Drove all the way there to find out he does not have any, only universal, the packages clearly state universal. He didn't bother to listen to the universal will not work. Wasted time, and the had him hunting in boxes to find one, which of he doesn't have. Don't waste your time. read more

Must say, I feel Royally ripped off and would give zero stars if possible. I have been smoldering about this place and their "custom products and workmanship" for a long while. About a year and a half ago, in connection with a near total remodel of our home, we needed to add/replace doors for our newly constructed fireplaces. We ordered three custom glass doors with inside metal mess screens. Needless to say they were NOT cheap - we paid for what we expected was would be high quality custom doors. They even came out at least twice to measure the openings for the doors. But, when the doors were installed by their guy (which was a whole separate ordeal that ticked us off, the doors to the main two sided fireplace had significant gaps at the top (I have pictures but couldnt figure out how to attach to this review) Needless to say we were extremely unhappy. We wanted them to take the doors back and order new ones that correctly fit the opening. The owner refused and offered us a measly few hundred dollars compensation (the doors cost thousands) and proposed a cosmetic fix. Alternatively we were basically in a "sue" option. Terrible. We had been through so much effort with our house remodel we just didn't have the fortitude to have drawn out litigation. So, when it was suggested that the gaps could be solved by affixing additional stone to the inside of the fireplace (basically gluing some pieces of stone façade on the inside) and they would give us a few hundred dollars . While it was not what we felt should be done to address defective doors that they erred on, we acquiesced. The cosmetic fix t did seem to do the trick - so accepted the few hundred dollars in refund and went our merry way (vowing never to recommend this place - all of our other contract work on the new home was spectacular by the way - just not this place). Now in 2017 - 2018 winter season naturally we have been using the fireplaces. To our chagrin (actually we felt worse than chagrin but I am trying to not use cuss words) the fix has come unfixed - the façade stone that was glued in has fallen out. We are so PO'd. Not much we can do at this stage except speak out and warn other potential customers DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. If for some reason you feel compelled to go there despite this warning, I highly recommend that you get an absolute guarantee of money back if not satisfied. And get it in clear unambiguous written terms. If you don't get a absolute guarantee, this place will screw you. Even if you do get such a guarantee they will probably resist honoring the guarantee - but at least you will have it in writing. But again, the main advice here is do not buy from this place. There, now at least I have this screw job off my chest. Oh BTW the mesh screens keep falling apart and the door to the other fireplace never "loosened up" as they claimed it would, and is a real pain to open. read more

I am writing this review because, in my case, Royal Fireplace has failed to deliver and install a custom fireplace door I ordered from them. I ordered the doors in August 29, 2020 and, was informed that it will take 3 weeks. The cost with installation came close to a $1000.00. I left a deposit of almost 1/2 the cost and called it a day. Someone came to my home to measure that very same day and remeasured a week later once the marble surround was installed. I called after getting close to the 3 week period have passed and, it took them awhile to find the order, if they actually found it. I am not so sure. After waiting for another week, I was told that they were expecting a delivery this week. They couldn't tell me whether my order was in this shipment but, they will call me. I receive no call and no doors. Now we are going into week number 5 and, I am out of my deposit, got no door and I am incredibly pissed. Now, I'll have to start all over with someone else to get my fireplace doors that were supposed to arrive two weeks ago. I can see that this establishment gets good reviews but sorry, without doors, there's no good review to give other than to express disappointment. read more

Bought a new gas fireplace kit. I needed a very old gas fire starter removed and the new gas kit installed. They came by the same day and had it done in a half hour. They also gave instruction on opening/closing the flew and turning on/off the new kit. Excellent service! read more

Disappointed. Harry came to our home, brought samples. Then his phone range. He got up and began speaking, apparently forgot he was in our home for the sole purpose of us needing to make a purchase. After that call, about 4 minutes later his phone rang again and got up had another conversation, sounded like he may have been speaking to a sales staff insisting the job would be 1000.00. Then he returned to our fireplace. He was supposed to have arrived the previous day but no showed, stated he was in an accident on his way to my house and didn't have my phone number. Hmm, ok. I am sorry if that truly was the case for not showing up as scheduled, but, sounded and looked shady. His truck looked fine. And to be on your way to an appointment without a phone number of a potential customer. Seems very unprofessional. Actually doesn't seem, the entire ordeal was a complete frustration and waste of time. He provided a quote. Absolutely ridiculous and with that type of customer service, NO THANK YOU! I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with a couple other "pro" shops around town who basically ended up not giving me good information and not following up with me. I'm so glad I finally contacted Royal Fireplace and after talking with Harry I decided to go in to meet with him. Harry is such a nice guy and really easy to talk to and he helped us decide what kind of gas logs to install and was helpful also about what types of repairs we may or may not need at the same time. It was a busy time (between November & Dec, before Christmas), so we were worried about the timing of it all, but Harry and his crew got it done in time so we could enjoy our fireplace before Christmas (Manny who does the install was really super cool and very polite and respectful of our house and cleaned up after all the work was completed). I highly recommend them if you want to install gas logs or do any repair to your fireplace. They also have a lot of nice stuff like doors and mantles, bbq's, etc. Keep in mind that this kind of work does need to be scheduled out so you have to have a little patience. I've seen other reviews that complain about having to wait 10 minutes and that there is only one guy in the shop. This is a small business run by the owner, so keep that in mind. That is a plus in my opinion. The fact that he has been in business for about 25 years or so says something. I am happy that we used Royal Fireplace and they did a great job! read more

In early December I purchased an insert and installation services from Royal Fireplace. Harry, the owner, is very knowledgeable. There is a wide selection of product from which to choose and I felt it was fairly priced (i.e., not cheap but not outrageous either). I explained my needs (be sure and bring your fireplace measurements when you come to the store), Harry answered my questions, narrowed down the choices available to me, and I made my buying decision -- all within about 25 minutes. The sales receipt indicates the time as 12:26 PM. By 5 PM the same day I was sitting in my living room with the gas logs burning!
