I have been a decades old customer and always ordered the shrimp fried rice specialty item and it was great. However, when I went on Friday, Feb 02, 2024, I noticed they replaced the fresh large shrimp with small translucent ones that looked like it was frozen, and the spice flavors was missing. I also noticed a 3.5% convenience fee was unknowinly added to my bill. Not good ROYAL PANDA; don't lose good customers at the expense of lowering your quality just to increase your profit margin. read more

This place was really great! They had a big selection and everything we tried was good! My favorite was the kung pao chicken, it was spicy and had an amazing flavor. The teriyaki was juicy, and the dipping sauce was delicious. I really liked their chow mein, it wasn't dry and stringy like Panda Express, this place's chow mein is soft and not dried out at all. The employee was so kind to us and even gave us sesame balls for free. They were sweet and filled with red bean. Overall, pretty good food! read more

Found dead flying insect in the packaging of the soup, a maggot in my wonton soup and a bug in a cocoon in the broccoli. Makes me sick to my stomach just to think of all the other insects my kids and I probably ate without knowing all these years. This place is okay. Typical Chinese fast food. The workers are loud and chit chatty with each other which could make a dine in experience annoying. Orange chicken, broccoli beef, some veggie and shrimp options. They also have standard chow mein and fried rice, but they also have fried vermicelli noodles. They also have soups like Hot and Sour and Wor Wonton. I like the wor wonton here. I came here under the suggestion of my friend, who lives close by to Royal Panda. She, a lot likes me, is into off brand Panda Expresses. They tend to be just as good, if not a little better. If I were to just base this review off the food, I would say it's a little better than Panda Express. Unfortunately, the service wasn't anywhere near a good. I ordered the Spicy String Bean Chicken and Broccoli Beef, that was served with fried rice and chow mein. I ordered these two entrees, not so much because I wanted them but because they were pretty much my only options. I showed up, 20 minutes before they were about to close. This is not the type of place that caters to the wants and needs of their customers, when they're ready to close up shop. Even those this was the last of the food, I have to reluctantly admit how good the food was. The service was awful. I get being annoyed when customers are coming in and you just want to leave but every employee there, seemed to hate their and their customer's existence. very rude and unwelcoming, never mind not providing good customer service by offering other items that they would have to make. There's a Panda Express right up the street that I would suggest if you're craving Chinese food and it's after 7. Ordered combo B; fried rice, kungpao chicken and black bean chicken; kungpao chicken was loaded with bamboo shoots and celery... every bite I took I could crunch on either shoots or the celery... black bean chicken was loaded with big chunks of bell peppers (red and green) and onion... I literally counted only 6 bite size chicken and 23 bell peppers in black bean chicken. Not coming back here and I don't even recommend this spot to anyone... you'll be better of with Panda Express. read more

We are staying in San Dimas temporarily, so looking for good food nearby. This place is close, so we tried it many times. The food is pretty good, and combos are competitively priced... but if you want sides, they are priced like entrees! (A tiny side of rice, possibly 2 oz... is $2.69. One thats about 1 cup in size, is $5.50! That's just crazy! ITS RICE! And their wor wonton and egg flower soups, are about the same price... go figure! And the service... I agree, is the worst part! These people are very unfriendly! (On the verge of rude!) Lunch or dinner, male or female servers... it doesn't matter.... they were all consistently ugly in their attitudes! This place is next to the Donut Club and Smoke Shop in San Dimas Plaza. Since they changed owners, the food quality has gotten bad. the chow mein and thin noodles tasted no flavor at all. the BBQ pork was so dry and the shrimp was mushy mushy not fresh at all. Saw some dead insects around the trash can with many empty soda cans not so sure what those were for. I gave them a 1 star because the food is good. However, while we were waiting in line for our turn I was observing the cooks since the door was open. I should have never looked. The Asian man cooking spit something out of his mouth and into his hand and threw it in the trash. Me hoping and praying he would wash his hands ... nope he went directly to continue cooking food. He saw me starting at him and he just closed the door. I was disgusted at that moment and told my husband to let's go and he did not understand why.... I ordered the 2 item combo-- chow mein with Sweet & Spicy Fish and Tangerine Chicken for $7.00 & some change. The food was fresh and very flavorful. The tangerine chicken was crispy and had a great tang to balance the sweetness of the glaze. Same deal with the fish. The portions were very large and I was only able to finish half of my meal. My general rule about this place is COME WHEN IT'S BUSY. If there's a line, your food will be better! If you're waiting in line and they bring out a fresh tray of something, GET THAT ITEM. You wanna get full on less than 20$? you want *leftovers* for less than 20$? yeah you can get that here.The entrees are where it gets more mixed though. I usually order the green bean chicken, the pork spare ribs, the bbq pork, mushroom chicken, black pepper chicken, or mixed veggies. Didn't so much like the teriyaki chicken (too gristly but the sauce is very good), or the orange chicken (mushy and not flavorful enough). I've tried the eggrolls (fine), the cream cheese wontons (pretty good but a little cold), and the crispy fried noodles (ok snack but KILLER on a salad). I used to LOVE this place. My boyfriend introduced it to me 3 years ago and it has always been our go to place. However, lately (past 6-8 months) the quality has left. We always get tangerine chicken. It went from amazingly edible pieces, to 90% chicken joints and bones. It's inedible. We've gone a few times before closing, so we've excused it as end if the day pieces, but today, I went around noon, picked up our food. Under new ownership and we're very disappointed in the food. We have been coming here since the 90's when the food was exceptional. Now it's so greasy, higher prices and smaller portions. You can't order Mongolian Beef in an entrée anymore. You have to order a large and it was so oily it poured out the sides of the container. There was 2 slices of tough beef and a container full of onions and carrots. Carrots in Mongolian Beef??? Last time we came here I said never again, but gave it another chance. Big mistake!
