    Biscuits and gravy

We stopped here to have breakfast with my mom before starting our journey home. It was Memorial Day and one of the few places open in town, so it was quite busy. However, the wait was not too long. It's a pretty small space, but the kitchen and servers seemed to be working hard to prioritize speed. We grabbed a booth once available. Our server was very friendly and attentive. She brought out our coffees and waters quickly. I chose the breakfast combo with 3 eggs (scrambled with cheese), hashbrowns, sausage, and biscuits and gravy. My boyfriend chose three eggs, bacon, toast, grits, and hashbrowns. My mom chose the three pancake meal. Food came out quickly and all was accurate. The portions are large. The biscuits and gravy were decent. I added some pepper to the gravy which helped. The hashbrowns were very bland. The eggs were cooked well and the cheese helped add some flavor. The sausage was just okay. It reminded me of standard frozen sausage patties. I tasted my bf's grits, and we also found those to be pretty bland. My mom liked her pancakes. Overall, I loved the service here. The food is reasonably priced with big portions, but pretty average. However, they seem to draw a crowd so everyone's taste buds are different!

Super cute atmosphere. Excellent, fast, friendly service. Ordered 2 Go. Came with sll the fixin's

Excellent across the board. Ordered to go. Super fast lovely service. Super cute old school vibe.

May 14, 2023. 4 for breakfast - Going to keep this brief. The service was exceptional and the customer base and regulars seemed happy. However, this was not a good experience from my wife's and my perspective. We had around 4 to 5 flies buzzing our table and on the windows behind us through the entire meal. The silverware was not very clean (we swapped out a few sets) The food (an inedible ham - like tanned leather except salty like jerky, the snooty/burnt eggs - some kind of pan/skillet or grille oil or butter or maybe lard gave a strange burnt flavor to the eggs, the 'butter' was almost margarine or some non-dairy item, and etc) were not properly cooked and seem to be very poor quality. Just didn't seem clean or sanitary and I wondered about the food storage and treatment and quality of the products?

We were visiting Harrah's on a Saturday and left around 8:30 in search of food. Good gravy - everything was closed or closing - on a Saturday night! What the heck? Even the fast food! So Waffle King was our only choice basically. However we had a very friendly waitress and tasty food! Must be the Waffle House cousin but dare I say the hash browns were even better? One of my friends said they had the best egg and bacon sandwich, so Waffle King was a hit - or we were starving My chili wasn't as good as the House but the hash browns kicked butt!

You know that feeling when you partied too hard and you just need a hearty meal to feel human again? That is why you go to Royal Waffle King. It will fix a night of mistakes with delicious waffles. The staff was super kind and funny, and the local crowd was unexpectedly popping late on a Friday night. I'd recommend trying it if you're ever craving that drunk or hungover meal, otherwise it will probably be just another waffle to you.

Royal Waffle King 780 Hwy 64 W, Murphy NC 28906 August 9, 2022 Tuesday - 7:40 AM for breakfast. 2 Adults Atmosphere - 3 stars Food - 3 stars Service - 4 stars Background - Business trip and my coworker likes this place Atmosphere - Not much to say. A long place with dinner seat and booths. Booths are not the best, but they serve their function. Food Drink -Coffee, which never came close to being empty. Breakfast - I love that the Royal Breakfast platters come with three eggs, while most places serve only two. Today I went with the No. 2 which is 3 eggs, hash browns, bacon or sausage, grits, and toast. I took the eggs over easy, sausage, white toast. No sour dough. I guess I am too far from the west coast for that. Eggs were done perfectly. Sausage patties were dry, either over cooked or no steam during the cooking process. I love getting grits while in the south. These failed, I have had better ones from the free hotel breakfast buffets. The hash browns are nice and krispy on the outside, and under cooked in the inside. Service - What you need, bonus on the coffee. Future - We went the next day too. Same issue with the hash brown.

Food was really good. The service was good too. Reminded me a lot of Waffle House, but the menu was different enough that I give them kudos.

When we walked in, we waited to be seated, we were standing close to the cash register and kitchen area. As we waited we listed to one of the staff complaining that wasn't a great sign. As we were being seated, we noticed all the cute decor! Someone took a lot of time to make the place look so cute! The waitress was super attentive! Hubby ordered the special, a Meatball sandwich and I ordered a salad with fried chicken tenders... I had to cheat a little bit. That Fried Chicken was calling my name! The food came out after a little bit of a wait. I completely understand because the chicken was fresh. But my poor hubby got a mess of a sandwich. It appears they made the sandwich and it sat while the chicken cooked. It was a soppy soggy mess. The bread was drenched and completely mush. He said the French Fries weren't much better. I asked him if he could eat just the meatballs and he picked up them each up with a fork and each and everyone of them were completely black on one side. Totally burned. Boy I felt bad because my chicken was delicious! This is the reason I added two stars. We went to pay, my husband leaving his hot mess in his plate. The owner was at the cash register, I found this out because she answered the phone while checking us out (stating her name was Julie). She was in such a mood, she was rude to the person on the phone placing an orderIn fact she was even rude to us, she scared the bjesus out of me....so we didn't say a word. I sure didn't want to complain and start an altercation . Hubby will never go back. He was not happy at all. I might go back, maybe with a friend and hope next time is better ‍ Possibly everyone was having a bad day? It was not crowded when we dined, as it was around 2:30pm. We thought this would be an asset, but we were wrong. Here is hoping it was an off day for them. Dine at your own risk my friends. Stay away from soggy sandwiches! Go for the fried chicken

I wanted to try their pancakes but didn't want a full stack, and our server Robin was wonderful in recommending the Sweet Start. One thing we really appreciated is that all breakfast entrees include coffee or tea, and the prices are already very reasonable. We were also pleasantly surprised to learn that even though we ordered specialty coffees, we could still enjoy complimentary refills of regular coffee. The restaurant has a charming and unique atmosphere, with every table looking a little different from the next. For my meal, I ordered the Sweet Start, which included one pancake, eggs, and bacon. I also appreciated the transparency from the staff. When I asked for an extra serving of their homemade pecan butter, I was informed upfront that there would be an additional charge....a level of honesty that's surprisingly rare these days. My husband ordered the Banana Nut French Toast comes with homemade whipped cream and homemade pecan butter, which also came with bacon. He added a side of eggs as well. Everything was delicious. The U-pick apple experience was a blast, and the orchard is beautiful, well organized, and family-friendly. We spent hours here between picking apples, browsing the market, and sampling drinks. There is an incredible selection of local products, baked goods, jams, cider, wine, fresh produce, gifts, and souvenirs. Everything looked fresh and high quality, although many of the items are definitely on the pricey side. We also tried both the hard cider and wine flights, which were reasonably priced and a fun way to sample several of their offerings before deciding what to take home. Most of the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming, and despite the crowds, the overall operation ran smoothly. Unfortunately, what should have been a five-star experience was overshadowed by one concerning incident. After returning from the U-pick orchard on the tractor, we noticed a family parked a couple of spaces away from us. The adults removed a younger child from the vehicle, and it appeared there may have been another child, approximately four years old, still inside the parked vehicle. We fully recognize the seriousness of making that assumption and cannot say with certainty what the circumstances were. However, with temperatures well above 90 degrees, we felt it was far better to report what we observed than ignore a situation that could potentially put a child at risk. What disappointed us most was the response. We informed staff of our concern, yet there seemed to be little to no sense of urgency. Even if it ultimately turned out to be a misunderstanding, I would have expected someone to immediately check on the situation or at least acknowledge the concern and verify that the child was safe. When it comes to a potential child safety issue, I'd much rather see staff respond quickly to a false alarm than risk overlooking a genuine emergency. Despite that experience, Mercier Orchards is still a wonderful destination. The U-pick experience, shopping, cider and wine tastings, and overall atmosphere make it a place I'd recommend to anyone visiting the Blue Ridge area. My hope is simply that management reinforces the importance of treating potential safety concerns with the urgency they deserve. Had it not been for that interaction, this easily would have been a five-star review.
