I got tired of going to the bike shop down the street from me next to In and Out/Lowe's because the customer service sucks and the owner is creepy. I gave Roy's a try and the staff was very friendly. The owner, Mike, and his staff are welcoming, and they complete repairs and projects efficiently. I raced BMX bicycles as a youth, and I now restore those bicycles. What a great shop! I've been needing a new bike for awhile . I am by no means a bike guy but I like riding my bike for exercise apparently like everyone else right now. After much searching online for a used bike I decided to just buy new . Scott was very helpful and we decided on a starter bike . Contrary to popular belief , you probably shouldn't buy your bike the same place you buy your groceries, clothes or electronics . I went in to check out a mountain bike. I was unfamiliar with basically everything. I as read reviews about the awesome associates and their propensity to take time and explain things. That is exactly what happened. I had been to a couple of other bike shops and had mixed experiences with the staff. I explained what I thought I wanted and he provided clear guidance and suggestions. He seated me in several bikes and clearly walked me through different scenarios. We finally settled in a bike and I believe came up with a more than fair price. The price always has to be fair, but often service sets places apart and that was definitely the case here. I really appreciated the his time and help as a guide to purchase. I would 100% recommend going to this place for your bike needs. Especially if you have questions and do not want to feel stupid asking simple questions at other shops. When I was looking for my bike I spoke with Mike a couple of times and he was super helpful on the phone. Due to the pandemic related bike shortage I ended up driving all the way down to San Diego for the purchase because they had my size. But 5 stars isn't for the phone call ... Less than three weeks later after only a handful of rides my controller (the computer screen on the top tube) stopped working. The shop in San Diego said they could get it replaced but I'd have to drive it down there, wait for the warranty replacement then drive back down to pick it up. NOT okay. The Specialized shops in the LA area didn't have one in stock and were going to charge me for labor even though it was a warranty issue because I had not purchased my bike from the company. I was infuriated and remembered how cool they had been on the phone so I called Mike again, I was pretty desperate too because I had a big ride scheduled for the following day. Amazingly Mike offered to swap the computer from another bike so I could do my ride and have my bike backimmediately. I drove the 40 minutes to Roy's and it was fixed in minutes NO CHARGE. While I was there I picked up the best phone holder I've ever had (kept my phone on during a major crash too) and a rack for my garage. I wish these guys were close enough to be my LBS but I cannot recommend them enough! The shop is in a really cute area too. read more

Roy's is the go to shop for your bicycle needs. My son and I just got into MTB's and they have been nothing but the best! I bought my e-bike from another shop and they fixed things that were out of adjustment with no problems. I just bought an Evil Calling and they had to assemble it from the ground up and it was setup for me and put together flawlessly. They have a very knowledgeable sales staff and their service is 2nd to none, super fast but very meticulous in handling these expensive bikes and they have lots of inventory of all bikes and parts which is very hard to find at a local bike shop in this internet savvy world. The minute I've walked in I'm greeted with a smile and offered help. I want to thank them for changing my flat I recently got on the bike trail so quickly. I brought my bike in on a Saturday mid morning and they changed my tire outside for me in 10 minutes. I was back on the bike trail and able to catch up with my friends. I like that there shop smells clean & they have hand sanitizer on the side door. They also have masks you can buy. they were fantastic and treated my situation better then I could have imagined. I told them to just make my beach cruiser like new again, I purchased it 10 years ago and 2 months after i got it, it was stolen. !o years later it was found at a crime scene where a suspected thief lived and they found a whole lot of stolen stuff. I got back my bike and it looked like he put it outside in his yard when he stole it and it sat there until I got it back. 10 years of sun damage the tires were rotted and the grips were all bad. I told them just do what you can and they said the parts for this type of cruiser are not really available but he would do what they could. I picked it up and it was rideable they actually made it look pretty good and it runs great. This place has been there since the 60s, and I can see why. They are not only friendly and knowledgeable, but interested in getting you taken care of. Some businesses don't understand the value of a simple hello and a smile, but these guys do! The hub on my rear wheel came loose, so I called to ask about it. Spoke to Dave who was really cool. Said bring the wheel in and let's see what's going on. I did, and he says, 'Oh yea. This won't take but a minute. Came back 5 minutes later with it fixed, ensuring I could ride today. The staff here is very courteous and you can tell they enjoy what they do. My son bought a bike off offer up that needed repair. The seat was crooked and the handle bars didn't always turn the front wheel. We brought it in and the gentlemen took it back did the repairs and didn't charge him. He made my sons day.
