I called today as the unit has problems and has a ten year warranty on parts. They charged me $89 to come out and see what the problem is. This came directly from his quote. Electrical Repair wire and repair burnt electrical connections. Solder hole that was caused by electrical shortage Clean system of debris and charge units with nitrogen and perform leak test to insure repairs were. They called me and told me the Goodman 10 year warranty would not cover parts for warranty and they said that was my problem and to call the manufacture. So I called them to ask why it wouldn't be covered and they said it was because this happened from not being installed correctly. I asked him how do you know it hasn't been installed correctly? He said because you have an electrical shortage. King Cooling and heating gave me a quote for $1,825 but said they would give me a $500 discount which took it to $1,325 (rip off). I would never use these people as they honor nothing. I received a quote from another company for $880. So do not buy from this company as they leave you in the cold.

The other companies sent out their sales agents and wouldn't even climb my roof to check my AC specs ( re: COSTCO recommended company) while Edgar Jr rolled up his sleeves provided my options and Seers choices then flat out beat the prices of the competition by 10% with a brand new Lennox AC, he has also assisted in the installation of my Ecobee thermostat and changed my air filters. Their AC installation process was very smooth and worry-free while his staff was punctual and polite. He even helped registered my AC unit and facilitated with the country building permit inspection which passed with flying colors. My only misgiving is that the Lennox AC unit would not fit to the adjustable curb and they have to do a transition from the existing roof jack which means I have to pay extra $ for the exterminator to install protective netting to prevent pigeons from nesting. Overall, this company is affordable, honest and efficient just like the AC units they sell and install. Surely, I'll recommend this company to my family and friends while I enjoy my new AC and its Lennox efficiency and durability.

I understood that. However, even after I explained that we have an infant at home and were without adequate cooling in the Las Vegas heat, it took another three days for him to return. When he finally came back, he gave me very little explanation of what he had actually checked or what was wrong. I was told there was "physical damage," the refrigerant looked low, valves might be leaking, and that they needed authorization from the home warranty company. Then I was told it could take another one to two weeks. He did not take the time to clearly explain the diagnosis or investigate other possible causes with me. He was not FRIENDLY at all !!!! I finally called my own HVAC technician. The difference was remarkable. He spent at least an hour thoroughly checking the system, including the wiring and refrigerant/cooling levels. He discovered that wires were disconnected, corrected the wiring issue, checked the rest of the system, and the unit is now working properly. That is what makes this experience so frustrating. I was being prepared to wait another one to two weeks for warranty authorization and possible repairs, while another technician took the time to actually troubleshoot the system and got it working. This was a waste of time and money, and the lack of communication, thoroughness, and urgency was unacceptable. American Home Shield should be ashamed of the level of service provided by a contractor representing them. When a family with an infant is without adequate cooling in Las Vegas, they deserve a technician who will thoroughly investigate the problem--not simply leave them waiting another week or two without even clearly explaining what is happening.

Company refuses to take my calls for service after I spent $7500 for a new AC unit last year…read more The primary drain line in the attic was clogged. causing water to leack into the back up drain pan below the unit. The drain pan was not installed level, causing water to drip out and causing staing in my ceiling. The Condensate Overflow Safe-T-Switch failed to shut off the system. The primary PVC drain line wasn't installed to the correct PVC outlet. It goes out above a window on the second floor. It needs to be switched with the emergency pan PVC outlet that drains to the lower level of the house. I tried calling several times today. They must have my number blocked.
