I've had street tacos from all over California all over Nevada. This place is amazing. They're not the little street tacos that everybody sells or two hard tacos two flower soft tacos and they're just packed ground beef lettuce, tomato cheese in each. There's enough that falls off the box if you had flour tortillas at the house, you can make another one or two prices are decent. It's a mom and Pop shop. Dad's generally cooking all the time ground beef is just amazing. I've had the beef and cheese enchiladas excellent. four out of five stars,interior seats about 50 people. Little rundown inside. parking is a little tight due to the mechanic shop next-door,off Nellis and Lake Mead always fast service. Rubalcabas is a east side staple. It has stood the test of time and competed with every other restaurant on the East side. Me personally have been coming since I was maybe 16/17 almost 20 years it seems like. As I still order the same thing. The Al Pastor nachos. The owner forgive I always forget his name but when we greet each other it's always "Primo" for years and years he's always treated me with respect and made be feel like a friend. For him I thankful. This area isn't the nicest but definitely not the worst but, he's makes it work and he does it very well. They have a ton of options and everything is pretty fire to be honest. They also offer burgers and chicken wings if you're not in the mood for traditional Mexican food. They do get busy at times but it's definitely worth the wait. Some of the employs have been here for years so that tells me he's a great boss. And the interior is old but it complements the business well. Enough of that we came for the food not the esthetics. Food is great the employees are amazing the salsas are fire. Best carne asada tacos I've had in Vegas. I just wish they were on the street taco tortillas, instead of the larger round tortillas. The horchata was also good. The carne asada fries were meh because the fries were a bit greasy and plain, but they are fries so I'm not sure what else you'd expect. 5 stars for the carne asada, which was actually bits of steak and not some weird large chunk ground beef type stuff you see at other taco shops. read more

Came into town for Thanksgiving. Needed a change up for dinner instead of the leftovers! Called and placed an order. Picked up and brought home. The bags weighed almost as much as our Turkey from yesterdays meal! The food was absolutely delicious. I personally ordered a #22 shredded beef chimichanga. The beef was so tender and juicy. Half way thru I had to throw in the towel. Saving that bad boy for meal #2. The rice is cooked perfectly. The beans were great. We also ordered the Camaron Burrito, 2 #5's Beef Burritos with cheese enchiladas, #3 2 cheese enchiladas, #11 2 cheese stuffed chilies, #20 3 beef rolled tacos and a #14 Pastor burrito. My 6 and 9 year olds shared the #20 one ate 2 rolled beef tacos and one ate 1 rolled beef taco. We will absolutely will be back. The customer service was outstanding. The men who helped us were extremely polite. 8 of the family members gave this place a 5 outta 5 star. 1 (who is 6) gave it a 4 star. He said too much cheese (ummmm is that possible lol). read more

I went to Rubalcabas taco shop today in the hunt for good flavorful Mexican food. I found this hidden gem through my hunger search. Don't judge the place by it's cover. It's a simple little place but the staff is friendly and you can tell the chef knows how Mexican food should taste. The way he prepared it and cooked the food says it all. The pozole was good as the people in the comments mentioned. The pozole was my favorite from what I ordered. All the food was delicious and prices are affordable and portioned great!! We stayed out pretty late and was looking for someplace to eat and found this little gem open 24/7. Employees were attentive as soon as we walked in and were patient as we looked over the menu (which took a while since it was our first time). I also read a review that the staff doesn't speak English well and they should accommodate customers.... Uh, So what, I don't speak Spanish and I'm from somewhere where it isn't commonly heard/spoken, BUT It was no problem overall though because the employee was patient with me and got our order like a pro. I just said sorry I don't speak Spanish and guess what, no big deal. The menu is literally in English and Spanish, just read what you want from the menu and they'll get your order just fine, it's not like you need someone to translate beef burrito for you ugh sorry for the rant, I just can't stand entitled people. Anyway, the chef was awesome too! Not for the faint of heart because portion sizes were huge and loaded. The staff is always friendly. They also have daily specials for $5.99 that are very tasty. I love that their food isn't overly greasy and is made fresh. Some of our favorite items to order are the carnitas burrito with guacamole, beans, and pico, any one of their chimichangas are always huge and yummy, the fish tacos, chile relleno, and the al pastor taco salad. They offer good sized portions at a value. The food is tasty and often leaves me wondering how they do it. I can never finish the chicken burrito and manage to finish it the follow day. Every time, it is fantastic. The service is good and they also have a decent condiment bar with salsa, veggies and limes.
