Average food for above average prices. Drove by a delicious taco truck to try Rubio's again after it reopened following a fire. Disappointed. Will visit my favorite taco truck before I willingly return. At least place has AC and servers friendly. I know requiring people to use their app for freebies is common. I will however use local Mom and Pop restaurants than return to a corporate one if I have a choice. Can understand why Rubio's is having g financial troubles. read more

Every single time we come here, we wait. Whether it's for service, or food or drinks, it's ALWAYS A WAIT. This time I ordered ahead because I am on call. Got the text notification that my food was ready as of 6:51 pm. Still waiting. For tacos and corn. That's it's. And there's about 10 other people waiting as well. I'm a big fan of taco Tuesday! The pieces of fish in my $2 especial tacos are really great. I prefer the flour tortilla & chipotle sauce. My rubios is always clean & has a friendly staff. So I'm lowering my review sadly. I've been a regular for a long time & I still like the tacos but I'm wondering if there has been a management and/or employee training change for the worse. If you place your order through DoorDash and the store happens to be busy, Rubio's just cancels your order (we called and confirmed the reason). You may have been waiting 15-20 minutes already just to go on and see Rubio's canceled it for no apparent reason. If I was a customer who walked through the door and ordered, would you turn me away? No. So why would you turn away a virtual customer?? We had a $50 order, but we won't be bothering with this location again. read more

Ordered the family pack due to it stated it can feed 4-5 people, think you need to rethink this Rubio's! I ordered this and was barely enough for everyone to have 2 tacos. I had to end up cooking more meat just for another family member which is the 4th just to make a taco. For Curbside service was a mess called was placed on hold for 10 mins while people flooded inside (not 6ft apart), had to end up going in to be told to wait before I uttered a word! For to be greeted with attitude and my food just to be placed on a dinning table. I've never had any issues dining here. I've always been greeted by friendly faces and I just stick to my usual Fish Taco Especial Plate and I stay satisfied. I've had other things here before, but I believe this is as good as it gets for Rubio's. I tried El Pueblo's fish tacos the other night and boy was it no bueno. The fish here tastes way more fresh and doesn't smell like El Pueblo's does. I've been coming here since 2006 as I live close-by, and it's been consistently a great choice. read more

This is by far the best Rubio's I've been to since i've moved to Vista. The other ones have been crap but the service here was outstanding, food came out in great time and tasted delicious, prices are just right, and its conveniently located right across the street from Yogurtland (aka my favorite place ever). 12/22/16 - My first visit here was great so let's hope it stays that way! Having not been inside Rubios for quite sometime, I was pretty shocked to see that they completely renovated it! Top to bottom! And it looks fantastic! They also renovated their menu as well but kept the classics! The Fish Taco Especial was loaded with amazing goodies: guacamole, cabbage, white sauce, chunks of fish, cilantro and onion, and of course salsa. I was happy to see they didn't skimp on the fish, but too much batter for my pleasing! I like it lightly coated with a nice crunch. Their salads look delish and I'll be coming back to try those. I visit this Rubio's location at least once a week! Everytime, except once (when it was really crowded) I have had a great experience! The cashiers are always really nice and friendly. And, I usually have coupons to use (I subscribe to their email list) and that is never a problem. The fish tacos are my favorite. They are so good. They are very simple, fish taco with a little slaw and a little sauce. And, they have a salsa bar where you can get more salsa to add to the tacos. I went to this Rubios yesterday for takeout. An entire family with no masks came barreling in. No distancing no respect. For my first experience at Rubios, I have to say, it was phenomenal! There is so much good food there, especially the fish tacos. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito and two fish tacos (trust me, it's more food than I thought!) and it was very good! Well actually, no. It was great! I loved the fish in the tacos. They are deep fried and they taste so freakin' good. They also give you limes to put some lime juice on the fish taco which tastes so good! They also give you a side of beans and cheese and chips. Very good beans. In the burrito, the beans were so good, same with the dip on the side of the plate. The chips were also quite good. The rice was also very good as well. I really do like this place a lot and will definitely be coming here more! read more

The classic fish tacos are on special for $1.75 and guac is extra of course but it's only a quarter on tuesdays, bringing your guacamole fish tacos total to a whopping $2.00!!! I have been eating their fish tacos forever, and they always taste so good. I like using the green salsa, squeezing a ton of lemon, and a dab of the habenero salsa. The tacos have been consistently delicious for as long as I can remember, and it will forever be one of my favorite spots for a quick fish taco on a Tuesday. I grab a few tacos, a beer, hit up the salsa bar, and call it a night. Leaving completely satisfied with how I spent my money and my appetite. read more

Great customer service here. They were ultra patient with our group, who consisted some folks with dietary concerns. For a chain, they have a nice set of gluten free options readily available to see in their Nutritional Guide. I got their special langoustine taco and a steak taco (surf and turf!) with beans and chips. The steak wasn't dry, but did need some pizzaz in there, so I topped it off with some salsa from the salsa bar. The langoustine was drenched in butter -- too much butter in fact. It literally flowed out as I took a bite. Poured the rest of the butter into a napkin, and from there it was more palatable. There is a difference between "drizzled with warm basil butter" and "poured a full cup of butter over it". As for the rest of the groups food, they enjoyed it and also agreed about the friendly service. read more

I will always love Rubios but when I don't eat it for a while, I forget how expensive it is and how little you get :/ the Especial burrito was $6.99 that came with chips but the nachos that were maybe $7 were way more worth it than the burrito. I love topping the nachos with the green sauce, and onions and cilantro mix. Rubios taste in general is fantastic but the pricing isn't always so great and it's probably only going to get worse. Come here for taco tuesday! only $1.50 each for a fish taco, which is usually $2.99. They keep this place clean and it is very roomy. There is also outdoor seating which can be dog friendly outside! At this location is it great because there is dessert right next door if you want ice cream at baskin' robbins after! Overall I like there food and the variety of salsa! read more

Rubio's Coastal Grill is really good for a "fast food" restaurant. I usually order the grilled shrimp burrito (shrimonis certified like most of their seafood choices) and it never disappoints! It comes with a side of chips which you have to go to the the salsa station to get, but that's not a big deal. Service is usually pretty fast. Occasionally, there will be a long line to order, but that's only usually during the lunch rush. read more

Wow... I know even I'm surprised with the one star but trust me they are very deserving of this. I ordered a veggie burrito, I know who orders a veggie burrito?!! But trust me they're normally really good. Normally, but not tonight. I placed an order with Door Dash and they delivered my burrito, this was around 8p. When I took a bite of my burrito they had placed this gritty, spicy, dry sauce inside. This is basically the only thing I order here, so I know that this is not how it's supposed to taste. When I looked inside it was filled with this sauce, I took out 3-4 spoonfuls of this sauce. It made the burrito super bitter and I just had to trash it. I have no idea why they prepared it like that, but it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth, literally and figuratively. read more

I just love the amazing customer service here. As soon as I walk in I'm greeted by the cashier and a genuine smile. I appreciate how the food is made to order and fresh. I can feast on the good and not feel guilty. I recommend the Gourmet Steak and/or Gourmet Chicken tacos. I used a "complimentary meal card" on this order that we recieved on our last visit. DoorDash orders getting on managment about where there food is. Management (young girl) just told the cashier he is on his own and will need to take orders and hand them out as well because she will be in the kitchen.
