Langostino Lobster Bowl
Melody T.

I hadn't been to Rubio's in a long time since unfortunately they've closed the location close to my home, but today I was able to enjoy this location... The restaurant was very clean and even though they appeared to be short staff, the young lady who took my order was busy multi-tasking by taking everybody's orders and bringing their food to the tables... She was very pleasant to deal with and apologetic at times! I'm glad I listened to her recommendation on the two different bowls I ordered because they were very tasty! When she asked me if I wanted to order anything to drink and I told her no, she offered to give me a cup, in case I wanted to get some water, and even though I didn't get any, I really appreciated the offer... If I'm ever in the area again, for sure, I'll be back to try other items off of their menu!!

Surf & Turf Bowl

Located in The Outlets of Orange. It was a decent spot to grab a quick lunch. It was quick to order and get the food. There is a salsa bar inside, which was great to try a few different sauces. For my order, I got the surf & turf bowl. It was a delicious and healthy option! For seating, there's plenty of spots inside and outside as well. The staff were kind enough to bring the order outside once ready. American Express is accepted here.

Cali Burrito Especial With Grilled, USDA-Choice Steak
Jazel M.

I placed an online order for pickup at Rubio's, and unfortunately this visit was a letdown. My daughter wanted her usual Cali Steak Burrito -- it's normally one of our favorites, honestly one of the best Cali burritos we've tried. But this time... big disappointment. If you know what a Cali burrito is supposed to be, you know exactly what I mean. This one looked like it was missing half its fillings. It was noticeably smaller, lacking that hearty, satisfying fullness we expect. My daughter even asked, "Where's the rest of the burrito?" And honestly, I was wondering the same thing. We usually have great experiences here, which makes this one even more frustrating. Hoping this was just an off day, but it definitely wasn't worth what we paid.

3 tacos. Shrimp taco is best of 3
L C.

My friend took me here. Because this was one of her favorite places to eat. I wasn't familiar with the food here. So she ordered the 3 taco deal. Because she said that its good. All three tasted delicious. But the shrimp taco was the best. Omg. I got water for drinks. Because I drink water over anything else. I was supplied with a nice little plastic cup. Water was probably tab. But it tasted good, nice and cold. Overall great experience here.

Objects found in burrito

We went to Rubio's and ordered two burritos and guacamole. Unfortunately, my fiancé found an avocado sticker, a chunk of avocado skin, and the stem (the brown nub from the end of the avocado) inside his burrito. I calmly asked to speak with a manager so I could show what was found. A team leader came out, apologized, and said they needed to speak to their boss -- and then never came back. After waiting, the front cashier pointed at us and asked, "Are you the ones with the burrito?" When I said yes, he responded with "Sorry, I'll talk to the kitchen people," and that was it. No follow-up. No manager. No resolution. It honestly felt like we were being avoided and brushed off. Mistakes can happen, but finding foreign objects in food is a serious issue, and the lack of concern or accountability afterward was extremely disappointing. The way this was handled showed a complete lack of care for customer safety and experience. This was truly unacceptable, and I won't be returning

I love that there's a location here at The Outlets of Orange...aka The Block. There are a lot of new restaurants here now, but I will still usually choose Rubio's to dine while here. I absolutely love their classic steak, chicken, and fish tacos. All of their sides are really good too, especially their guacamole & chips! And don't forget to save room for a churro!

Walking and shopping makes you feel a little hungry. We had dinner plans for later, so we decided to get something quick before then. We were debating on a pretzel or taco. The sign in the window for an advertised special caught our eye. For the same price as a pretzel, we got a taco, chips, salsa, half a churro, and a drink. Fish taco was nice and crispy. Staff was nice, but busy doing other things upon entering. Seating inside and outdoors.

Loved coming here for lunch haven't been here in a really long time. The one in Brea closed down, I was so sad. Actually thank you to Roselia for reminding me about Rubio's. So ordered the gourmet tacos and the kids chicken plate came with a drink too. The girl who took our order was nice no smile lol but that's ok. She took our order quickly and we got our food fast! It was delicious I haven't had the gourmet tacos in so long! Thank you for our delicious meal and fast and good service. They have inside and outside seating. Chose to sit outside there was a gorgeous breeze coming through. It felt amazing to be outside and have a delicious lunch. Have a beautiful day :) Aloha

Fast, friendly service. They have an under $10 menu with varied choices. I had the taco trio. Just right. My daughter had their steak fries and said they were delicious. Moderate pricing. We love their salsa bar that includes chopped onions, spicy carrots, lemons, and limes. Located in the middle (food court) of The Block Outlets in Orange.

Chicken and carne asada

This Rubio's location is tucked in an outdoor food court at the block of Orange. I went on a Taco Tuesday and ordered 4 tacos - chicken, carne asada, fish, and fish w avocado taco. I also ordered a margarita which came in a can. As I sat down and waited for my food, I noticed the AC was running probably 80-82 degrees, it was hot! My food came in 10 mins. Chicken and carne asada are mediocre, fish tacos are the only tacos that are worth to eat imo. My experience here was just average, hopefully you can crank up the AC next time. Fish tacos are good but we need good AC so my sweat don't drip down on the tacos!

Man! I was so disappointed. I walked in on a Wednesday as we were waiting for our movie to start. Upon walking in, the place was a bit messy as I am assuming customers just left and the salsa bar looked like it needed some help. I decided to get shrimp tacos, but they were out! Out of the batter and out of the shrimp. They were out of most of the meats besides chicken. I ordered the mexican street corn bowl with chicken, it came out within 20 minutes and it was extremely salty! Not sure if they were rushing as there were other people waiting way before us for their food! I usually enjoy rubios, I think today was just a off day for staff and the establishment. Hopefully when we visit again it'll be a better turn out!

Chicken Baja Grill Burrito with Guacamole

A pretty convenient spot to grab a quick bite. Tried their under $10 menu and chose the grilled chicken burrito. It was good and it also came with chips on the side. Their salsa bar is decent as well. Lots of seating inside and outside. Both the food and service were fast.

Start cleaning out underneath your table pushing you out as fast as they can. The bar just closes down not even announcing a last call. And what is with those awful margaritas. I can't believe that a Michelin feathered Mexican restaurant can serve such awful margaritas. And I am not alone as I mentioned it to another Restaurant crowd and they agreed and said they were probably the worst margaritas in Orange. I don't know whether it's the mix or the amount of alcohol or what it is but they come out watery and really sour. A totally good dining experience has to encompass everything, food is only 50% of the deal the other 50% is service with a smile, and this one lacks it. Now there could be a reason for this epic shutdown at 9 PM. But I wonder what it is? Santa Monica seafood in Santa Monica on Wilshire Boulevard has to have last orders in by 8:30 because if they are not closed out by 10 o'clock entirely, the neighbors complain that they are putting out trash and making a noise after 10 so that I understand. But it took me a year to find that out from the owners. Restaurant owners are so stuck up and anal, I know I was one. Gabbi, whom I have never seen, should spend a night or two watching her Restaurant closing up.

The beans did not taste watered down, and the enchiladas themselves were flavorful. I always worry about shrimp overpowering the sides of a dish but it tasted great. The rice was also really filling. We had a reservation and they seated us at a pretty big table, which I liked. The servers were very timely, kind, and knowledgeable about each dish on the menu and the rotating specials. The inside of the restaurant was HUGE. I'm pretty sure it was built inside of a church. I really liked the stained glass and elevated seating areas nearby, it reminded me of the Old Spaghetti Factory layout in Fullerton. Overall, I had a very positive experience. I had to get a Diet Coke and of course, it was crisp to my expectations. A little heads-up, unlike the Costa Mesa location, they do not have horchata. But once again one has this perfunctory service, that is service that is merely to get through a night and not to enhance a dining experience. So many restaurants now seem to have the same problem, that is servers who just want to get through the evening and get it over with. The service industry has really taken a dive since my day. I don't get it. Don't they get paid more than they used to just a year or two ago. Anyway, I do enjoy the Camerones. But, the dreadful flan that I was served. This is such a basic desert and very easy to make, but one can overcook the egg proteins easily and the whole thing is grainy, scrambled and not pleasant to eat. Basically it should be cooked in a Bain Marie. Probably a lost art. Avila's has several locations and one may differ from another. The one I ate at is in Orange.

The carnitas themselves are the star--tender, juicy pork that's been slow-cooked to perfection with that signature crispy edge on some pieces, delivering rich, savory flavor without being overly greasy. It's seasoned just right, with a nice balance of porky goodness and subtle spices that let the meat shine. Wrapped in a large, fresh flour tortilla (they make their own in-house, which always helps), it's stuffed generously with the classics: fluffy Mexican rice, creamy refried or whole beans (depending on your preference, but both work great), chopped onions, cilantro, and a solid dose of salsa. I went with their green salsa for a bright, tangy kick that cuts through the richness perfectly, plus a dollop of sour cream and cheese for that creamy melt. No skimping on portions here--it's hearty and filling, easily a meal that satisfies for hours. At around $10 (give or take, based on current pricing), it's a great value in the area. The burrito holds together well without falling apart mid-bite, and the overall balance of textures--tender meat, soft rice/beans, crisp onions--makes every mouthful enjoyable. If you're in the mood for classic carnitas done right in a casual, bakery-taqueria spot with great salsas and a friendly vibe, this one's definitely worth grabbing. I'd rate it 4.5 out of 5--only docking half a point because it's not reinventing the wheel, but it's executing the traditional style exceptionally well.
