Service at this particular location leaves a little bit to be desired, not terrible, but other locations are much friendlier. Honestly, I'd say the food here is probably a solid 3.5. It pretty good but not great. We got the chicken nachos, chicken quesadilla, taco trio, and a shrimp burrito. Nachos were good but got a little soggy but kind of unavoidable due to how things are right now. The quesadilla was okay. Kinda of small with little chicken especially for the $10 price tag the dish has. Tacos were good and the burrito was good as well. Again the food was good but not great but between the food and the service I give them a solid 4. I do appreciate how they are handling the take out orders for curbside pickup and felt very secure ordering from restaurant so I do recommend them for that. read more

First time eating here today. I have been in search of a good local seafood place for a while now. Wasn't necessarily looking for a Mexican seafood place but it combines two of my favorites in one so I gave them a try. It was my birthday and I had printed out a coupon from their website prior to going, it was a bogo entree coupon. The restaurant itself smelled inviting walking up to it and it was spectacularly clean on the inside. Not very busy at all but we did go after lunch and before dinner on a Sunday. Ladies working were nice too. Food did not take long at all maybe 5 minutes. It was hot, fresh and delicious. My husband and I both ordered the coastal trio. We love grilled fish tacos and this came with one grilled, one beer battered and a grilled shrimp taco. Good choice for a first visit. I definitely want to go again and try other things. Also they serve beer! So who doesn't like that? read more

It's hard to give a fast food restaurant a 5 star review, but this Rubio's is sure trying hard to get there! The staff was super friendly, the store was clean, salsa bar well stocked, and the food came out quick and exact to our order. My husband was the only one eating and he had the 2 taco plate with Fish Taco especial (cheese and guac added), with chips and pinto beans. There was a huge portion of the fish, the toppings were nicely placed and the food was presented nicely on the plate. I love that Rubio's uses real ceramic plates and metal silverware. It really makes your $8 meal feel just like a sit down restaurant that would probably cost more like $12-$20 depending on where you went. The staff here is doing an excellent job! Roy Hernandez is an excellent manager. We came in on Friday and I ate most of my food before I encountered an issue. He had been checking on all the tables and I mentioned it in passing. He insisted on writing our names down for a free meal, even though I objected. I appreciated his care and concern about a minor issue in my eyes. We came back today to take him up on the offer to make it right. He remembered my husband and myself by name. Both times the food was hot, delicious, and made to order. The seafood burritos are the best things to get here. Ancho citrus grilled shrimp burrito, classic shrimp burrito, and signature beer battered fish burrito are my favorites. Seriously, something about the shrimp here! So plump and juicy! :d Of course, you can't pass up fish taco Tuesday's here as well. I love their tomatillo, chipotle sauce, and their jalapeno citrus hot sauce (I love using this one as a dip for my chips). Those are the only 3 sauces I get. After a while, the jalapeno citrus gets a little too spicy for me, so I end up mixing it with the tomatillo. Makes for a nice tangy mild green sauce. :d The customer service has never let me down here - I'm always treated so nicely and everyone's friendly! And it's always clean inside. I'm not usually a fan of many chain restaurants, but Rubio's has a special place in my stomach (heart). read more

Came here on a Tuesday for $1.50 fish tacos! They did not disappoint. Of course we asked for extra white sauce. Delicious... Their salsa bar is fantastic as well. The jalapeño lime (I think that's what it was called) and the chipotle sauce were my favorites. Mmm close to home, cheap deals. What more could I ask for? Oh and they have mango iced tea. This place is your standard Rubio's restaurant. The establishment is clean and they have decent indoor and outdoor seating arrangements. This specific establishment is located in an outdoor shopping center near a Best Buy and Michael's (among other stores). There really isn't any issue as far as traffic and the amount of patrons I have seen in this location during lunch hours isn't pushing the max capacity. Thus, it's never crowded, from what I have seen. So if you like Rubio's and want a nice quiet and clean establishment, this is a solid place to go. read more

I had the pleasure of bringing my family a Rubio's taco tray from the online catering menu. The online menu took a little while to figure out when it came to actually placing the order. Not a 100% user friendly website, but once I clicked the correct button everything went great. I had ordered the catering a week before the Thanksgiving holiday for pick up the Saturday after Thanksgiving. When I called the location the day before just to confirm the order was received and in place, Jorge answered the phone. He was awesome to talk to and assured me everything was going to be ready and on time. And as promised, the next day when I arrived to pick up my order, Jorge was there to greet me. They were absolutely yummy----fresh and tasty fish in a crispy batter...delicious. First tried Rubio's in Murrieta where I used to work. I enjoyed their food so much and thought to myself I would drive down to Murrieta from Riverside to eat at this place again. Needless to say, I was so happy to find one where I frequently shop. The salsa verde shrimp tacos are my kryptonite! Oh So Fresh and delicious! The salsa bar is also great. Completely agree with Liliana M's post. I used to really like this place. However, on today's visit, the cashier was just not into it (which I was gonna let go) but then it just got worse. The food portions got smaller, the beans were not warm & they're skimping on the sauces. They had dingy tables inside and outside. Upon sitting outside, I tripped on this metal piece sticking out of the concrete not once but twice! Super safety hazard. Since they went "Costal" I've gone postal. Before this last visit I did not enjoy Rubios. It was a very long time ago that had a lasting negative impression until now. A few coworkers and I decided to visit after work for taco Tuesday. The special most of us got was 3 fish tacos and a soft drink for 9 dollars and some change. Great buy! We initially sat at a table but as soon as stool seating opened up we asked if we can have the table and immediately someone was on it cleaning it for us. This has been the first time I've gone to this Rubios since it opened earlier this year. Tonight I was feeling like fish tacos or something like it, so we decided on Rubios. Rubio had a special for Longostino Lobster tacos and because it look appetizing, I decided on that. The hubby had the Fish taco and Shrimp burrito combo. Just FYI, their combo means chips and beans. All of the food was pretty good, but the Shrimp burrito was the best. I absolutely love all their salsas, they have a variety, ranging from Chipotle, cabo, and chili verde. On this visit, the service was really great, the girl who took our order asked about our day, handed our to-go order (which did not take long at all) to us while we were sitting at a table, and offered a larger container for limes that I was trying to cram into the small salsa containers. The only drawback is the price. For what we ordered (with no drinks), it was about 19 bucks. I checked in with Diana after 15 minutes of what happened to my order. She asked the cook and I saw him just shrug his shoulders in front of me. Neither of them cared and just told me it'll be out soon. Took a seat and watched more customers receive their food. I went up to ask for my money back and she gladly gave me my money back. We've been eating at Rubio's for years...so this seemed odd. After we were finished we spoke with the manager - he told us that they were using fresh fish and breading it themselves. We went to one in Lancaster and that store made us question the brand. But we are very happy we ate here. The restaurant is very clean and the kitchen looks clean and efficient. The salsa bar looked clean and maintained and well stocked. The people here are very pleasant and easy to talk to. We ate in and enjoyed it so much that we bought three more tacos to go.
