My husband ate at the Chattanooga location yesterday and was so impressed that he took me to try it today! He got the trifecta both times and is still talking about it! I, not being a breakfast/ brunch person got the chicken sandwich, which was delicious. I also had a Peach Bellini Mimosa (YUM!) and my husband got a Bloody Mary (mouth watering)! Our waitress, Tori, was very friendly and super prompt with taking our order. We did have to wait almost an hour to be seated, but we expected that due to social distancing and the fact that it was prime "brunch time." Overall amazing food and service! read more

Went to this place with two of my friends for a quick lunch before class; we had to wait fifteen minutes for a table, which we were okay with given the current circumstances with the pandemic. When we were finally seated, the general manager was the one who took our drink orders as they were short on staff at this particular time. She brought them out in less than clean glasses but, it was fine as it appeared that just the outside had water stains. She took our food order and said it would be right out; it was, however, things only went down hill from here. Upon receiving our food, the manager dropped the top bun of my friend's sandwich on the serving tray (which was also filthy). The manager asked if my friend would like her sandwich remade; my friend said yes and she was told by the manager it would be out again in 8 minutes. My meal, the french toast bites, was SEVERELY overcooked. I probably ate an 1/8 of the meal. One of the servers actually remarked to me that my food was overdone and apologized. We also asked for refills on our apple juice, which we never received. Once my friend's sandwich had been brought out, approximately 25 minutes later, it was cold. By this time, we were pretty irritated and had to leave for class. My friend told the manager it was fine and she no longer wanted the sandwich as we had to leave anyway. The manager said okay and asked if we were ready for the checks. My friend made clear she had no intentions of paying for this sandwich as she hadn't consumed it and it was cold. Very rudely, the manager told her if she took the sandwich she'd be charged if not she would not be. My friend made very clear, once again that she no longer wanted the sandwich. I also let the manager know that I was not happy with my meal. She picked up pieces of the french toast bites and squished them between her fingers and said "You know what... you all have a nice day." The general manager of Ruby Sunshine is EXTREMELY rude, was unapologetic, and showed no remorse from our less than great experience. Having worked in high stress environments like this (I interned at Disney World last year), I understand there are things out of one's control. However, the lack of remorse and the rudeness really turned me and my friends off. We certainly won't be going back. read more

I am so excited to have this place in town! While it is on the high price end for breakfast/lunch, for special occasions it is worth it! Our server was Kylie and she was adorable. I had coffee (dark and bold) and the Egg Cochon. It was fantastic! The hollandaise sauce and pork were both done perfectly! It was enough for two people. My friend ordered the basic french toast and while it was good, it was a little too basic. When you have a chance to serve the basics, it's a great idea to make sure they are done really well. This review includes my +1 bias because of Covid. Otherwise we're looking at a 2 star restaurant. Abigail our waitress seemed more concerned with flirting with the bar tender and other employees and planning her social life than serving the table. Used dishes sat way too long, coffee was only filled once after requesting it. Kid's drinks not refilled until it was time to leave. As far as the food...meh. Had two Benedicts and they tasted like they were made the night before. All other food was barely warm and that makes it worse is when they serve you rock hard cold butter. How do you eat pancakes or grits when you can't melt the butter on/in them? Won't be coming back. Edit: I forgot to mention the bathrooms. Looks like they belong to a late night bar and haven't been cleaned for weeks! Doesn't help either that the food from the kitchen is walked right down the hall with the bathrooms on the way to your table! read more

Went here for brunch and got eggs benedict dishes. I chose the smoked salmon benedict, which is served over a biscuit instead of the classic English muffin - cool idea! The dish portions were very large and I could barely even finish. I wanted to, though, because the bennies were really satisfying. The biscuit was sweet and absorbed the remaining yolk and hollandaise well. I'd recommend it to anyone hanging around Knoxville wanting some good bennies. read more

This place is usually packed with people and for good reason. Overall, this restaurant offers a good assortment of New Orleans cuisine. If you are looking for a good brunch place, this would be the ideal location! It's located in downtown Knoxville and offers very nice outdoor seating. The staff were all very nice and hospitable. My hubby and I tried this out while on vacation. The environment was nice and up to date. The service was very good. And the food was excellent. Everything I tasted was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. My husband really liked that he could order two different egg benedicts into a combined meal. He chose the Green Tomato Benedict (One, Tomato, Two Tomatoes) and the Hot Salmon Benedict. Both were perfection. Both hollandaise sauces were what you hope for and the eggs were nice and runny. I particularly liked the fried green tomato, it added a nice zing and necessary change of texture. I had the Migas. Tortilla chips were fresh from the fryer, the Chipotle sour cream added great heat, and the eggs were delicious. Overall, we would definitely return when in the area! I tried placing an online order, but the gluten-free breakfast options were not available for online ordering. Next, I called the restaurant two times right after they opened and no one answered either time. I ended up walking to the restaurant to place a to-go order in person. I wasn't greeted at the door, I stood at the bar waiting for someone to come over to take my order and I waited while some employees were just watching me from across the restaurant without coming over. Once an employee came over, I was able to place my order. I ordered two gluten-free items, and one breakfast sandwich with no egg (due to an allergy), I also ordered coffee. I waited at the bar for my food. The employee put in my order and then walked away before giving me a quote for how long the food would take. My coffee was brought to me, had to ask for something to stir it with and had to ask for napkins, too. Waited for a while for my food, wanted to pay before the food came, so that I could leave for my meeting as soon as the order was ready, but could find the gal who took my order. She then came over to the bar, but she was on talking on her cell phone. My food took a while to be ready. Once I got my food, I checked my bags for the butter and syrup (for my French toast), but they were both missing, utensils were missing also. The gal went to the kitchen to get me what was missing. She was not very friendly. The only friendly person was the nice employee who was at the front door when I left the restaurant who offered to open the door for me. I got back to the hotel and my fiancé (who has an egg allergy) went to take a bite of his sandwich and it had egg in it! I had specified NO EGG when I placed my order, what a let down and waste of money! Overall, this was a very poor experience. I felt like I was inconveniencing the gal who took my order by simply by ordering food. Hopefully next time will be better. read more

Back in February during valentines weekend, my boyfriend and I had 4 hour drive ahead of us going back home to Georgia from Gatlinburg TN. En route we passed through Knoxville and decided to stop at a brunch spot. This place was amazing! From the food to the service! Our waitress was exceptional I wish I remembered her name!! This was my second visit to Ruby Sunshine. The first time was a sunday morning after a football game, so naturally it was packed, but so was Krystal. The service was awful, which I presume was due to the large crowd. This morning three of us went at 9:00 on a friday morning. There was one other table occupied. The service was prompt this time. HOWEVER, the food was still 1) served cold, 2) any gravy that was poured over the was merely a couple of tablespoons, 3) the omelette was overcooked, and 4) the biscuits were nice looking but very tough. The Bloody marys were so pepper-hot they were undrinkable, and I like really hot food. The entrees were original and imaginative, but the ingredients were just so, so. The corn beef hash tasted like it was from Walmart. The poached eggs were way overcooked, and the sausage was tasteless. All in all, the meals were poorly executed, and it is clear that there is no true on-site supervision by a real chef. And to make matters worse, the chairs are so uncomfortable they actually hurt to sit in them, and on the sunday we visited, it was so noisy, you could not talk across the table. The atmosphere reminded me of eating in a mess hall. When a breakfast costs $20/ person with coffee, it better be a darn good breakfast, but this was just mediocre. Our three entrees with two bloody Mary's and a mimosa cost $107.00. I can't recommend this restaurant at any price. read more

My wife and I enjoy a good eggs Benedict. Our waitress, Payton recommended the trifecta sampler and we added the OG Benedict. Hands down we both agreed the best Benedict we have ever had. All different flavors but excellent. The biscuit base was not dry. It was not smothered in hollandaise sauce. You could taste each layer and they were all excellent.
