But this past weekend we ordered food to go and made the fatal mistake of NOT double checking our order (since getting a to go order complete AND accurate in this day and age is rare) but once I got home I realized that they had left out half our food. I called the restaurant and was directed to leave a voice mail on the "to go" order line but I am still waiting on a return call. Normally I would have just driven back over there but we had company in town and I didn't have the time to go back down there. Besides that my order was 15-20 later than I was quoted so my parking ran over- so not only did I NOT get all the food I paid for I had to pay extra for parking because my food wasn't ready when I was told to pick it up. The food (catfish and grits) was amazing! However, comments made by the server after payment were unwarranted and ungrateful. Gayshea stated she regretted not adding gratuity because she would've made more than $20. One guest of our party provided additional cash (her meal was paid by someone else who tipped), the server's response was this is enough for your tip, rather than a thank you. I tipped 20%, another guest did as well, so that alone is almost $20 from 2 of the 6 guests. Another guest gave a crisp $10 bill. It's one thing to be inaccurate but to be nasty is outright uncalled for. My group was here celebrating an accomplishment but the attitude put dampened everyone's spirit. read more

You can literally join the waitlist while you're getting dressed, and you'll get a place in the virtual line...plus updates on your spot as you get closer to the front of the line! It was a Sunday brunch, so the wait was pretty long for us, but the waitlist saved us. By the time we got there, we only had to wait about 5 minutes. Our server was really sweet and gave us recommendations. My friend wanted a coffee drink, but they don't have a barista, so any coffee drinks are coming from a machine with pre-mixes. The fried green tomatoes were solid, but I would have loved more of the remoulade sauce that was on top. My french toast bites had great flavor, but were a bit crunchier than I like my french toast to be. With the chicken and syrup - it all went down great! :) Def recommend! read more

On a Saturday morning our party of 9 waited about 1.5 hours for a table. We joined the waitlist online but the process was very confusing. Regardless, we checked in and then walked around the nearby stores until our table was ready. The menu has so many good options to choose from. Most people in our group decided to build their own meal by ordering a bunch of sides. Personally, I ordered the French toast bites in the appetizer size and then also ordered a side of fruit and chicken sausage. The French toast bites were delicious. They were flavorful and crispy and the praline sauce added a nice touch of sweetness. I personally thought most of their menu items were expensive especially considering the portions are not that large. No leftovers for me. Inside is very cramped. Had an excellent recent visit here with my family. Tiana was our waitress and provided kind and phenomenal service. We had bacon bites to start. They were almost too sweet for my liking, but my sister and BIL love them. I ordered the Classic French Toast and asked for a side of the white chocolate whiskey sauce that goes with the bread pudding pancakes. It was a nice addition. I have found another go-to for brunch here in Nashville!! First, I love the openness indoors and covered outdoor seating - especially after having been in the craziness of the pandemic. It was hard settling on one, but we plan to be back and explore the menu further. We settled on French Toast bites for a starter (genius idea to satisfy a breakfast/brunch sweet tooth without full meal) and then I opted for the Migas (substituted chorizo with chicken sausage) and hubby went with shrimp and grits. I DEVOURED mine, lol. The flavors were amazing and it was prepared to perfection. The crunch of the tortilla chips added a nice little "sparkle" to the meal. Hubby said the shrimp and grits had good flavor, but were just a little too soupy for his liking. It looked and smelled delicious though! I was so excited to eat here because they are a New Orleans style brunch restaurant. New Orleans has some of the most amazing food. Unfortunately, Ruby Sunshine did not meet my expectations. I think it's because I visited New Orleans a few months before and was spoiled. The service was excellent. Our waiter was great! However, the food was lackluster. I love flavorful food. I don't like having to add salt and pepper to my food at restaurants. I got the Chicken St Charles with scrambled eggs instead of the poached egg topped with their signature pork tasso cream sauce. The restaurant seems to feature that sauce on alot of their food. The chicken was bland and I thought the cream sauce would set it off but that too was tasteless. The white chocolate bread pudding pancake was absolutely delicious! It saved the meal! My friends got the catfish and grits and they too were not impressed with their food.
