I wish I could give more stars! Service was just okay! We went on a week day and they weren't super crowded. But everything was so slow! Everything was an after thought for our waitress. My girlfriends and I were in need for a brunch get together and one of them suggested Ruby Sunshine. I'm familiar with their sister store, Ruby Slipper, because I'm from Alabama and have eaten at their Mobile restaurant a couple of times. I was interested in trying this location to see if there were any major differences, but it looks to me like there wasn't. The menus seemed to be the exact same as well. The location is pretty spacious and clean. We used the waitlist and was able to shop around while we waited for our table. Once the table was ready, we were sat immediately and our server was prompt with bringing our drinks and food. I chose the eggs blackstone, but requested the eggs to be scrambled which the happily obliged. It was overall good, but I wish it had more flavor. It's not pictured, but I tried one of their moonshine drinks was peach flavored. Make sure you ask your server what flavors they offer that day. My drink was tasty and I'd order it again. We were staying just down the street while visiting family in Nashville. There was this place and another place that is extremely popular with the locals. We went into this newer spot, and were not disappointed. I wish I had more opportunity to sample items on their menu. I did the pancakes with the Chantilly whip cream and had to have my husband help me eat them all. Portions are generous. Excellent service, food and restaurant. My husband got eggs Bennie. He loved them, as he's a bit of a Bennie snob. I had bananas foster French toast. So yummy. Delicious coffee. Perfectly cooked applewood bacon. The portions were ample. No line to stand in to get service. Definitely will be back. Hopefully the seasonal loaded french toast isn't sweet potato. Lol. 5 words: white chocolate bread pudding pancakes. It was SOOOO good, it made you close your eyes after the first bite and savor the moment hoping the next bite would be the same. And it was. The best pancakes I've EVER had and I will definitely come back for more!! The mimosa flight was pretty tasty as well. I wish I remembered our waitress's name, but she was so friendly and attentive. Very busy for brunch but got seated right away. There was some confusion over which server was supposed to handle our table, but once one showed up, he did an awesome job. Absolutely LOVED Ruby Sunshine!!! We had a big group (we did make a reservation) and they were able to accommodate us at 2 tables which was totally fine. Our waiter was awesome and attentive, the food was amazing (the biscuits are to die for!!!) and I loved the iced vanilla latte (only complaint is it cannot be made with oat milk, but it was worth the risk of drinking whole milk because it was so good!). The restaurant was full on a Saturday morning but it didn't feel over crowded or chaotic in anyway which is important to me. I also love the area it is in right by Vanderbilt- such a cute area with other food places and shopping! Will absolutely return next time I go to Nashville! read more

Visited Ruby Sunshine for brunch on a Saturday morning in July 2020. We arrived around 10:00 am and were able to get outside seating within 5 minutes. This was during COVID do they offered a limited menu which you could receive through a QR code scan. We ordered the BLT with fried green tomato and added an over easy egg. It came with a side a fries. The BLT was so good, highly recommend. The fries were nothing special. Also had a Bloody Mary which was just okay. The service was excellent and the location near Vanderbilt was easily accessible from the city. I can't wait until I'm back in Nashville and can experience this place with full menu. The menu had a variety of Eggs Benedict options that sounded really good and the menu allows you to mix and match the different kinds. Will do this next time but I'm a sucker for fried green tomatoes and French Fries so this BLT won. I highly recommend a visit to Ruby Sunshine. read more

Great service, yummy food! Definitely come before 9:30 if you want to beat the long wait. We started with the seasonal beignets which were yummy but super small for the price - and they aren't actually beignets - these are denser and have a tough crumb. I got the trifecta benedict which had the shrimp benedict, fried chicken benedict, and the pork benedict. The eggs were perfectly poached and the sauces for each were super yummy. The biscuits that the benedicts were on tasted fine but were tough, and the pork tasted good but could have been more tender. We got there at 1pm and they took a group of 8 and it was exceptional service. Our apps were out before we even finished putting orders in all around the table. The sweet heat chicken and French toast bites were delicious! Bacon jam for the friend green tomatoes was so good but there needs to be more! I also had a bite of the Migas which was fantastic and the White chocolate bread pudding pancakes which were fabulous and super sweet. if you love breakfast and brunch, you will not be disappointed! The food here is great, featuring eclectic and traditional breakfast and brunch items. The eggs are always done exactly as I order them, which is super important for a breakfast establishment. The brunch cocktails are delicious and you MUST try the perfectly made Bloody Mary! Love the brunch themed decor, including the bacon and egg wallpaper in the women's bathroom. The wait staff is always friendly and attentive. We have eaten at the restaurant a few times and every dish on the menu has been amazing so far. If you prefer to sit at the breakfast bar there is ample seating, plus an outside patio if you prefer the outdoors. They typically open at 7 AM and close about 2PM. This location is in the Hillsboro Belmont neighborhood and parking is in short supply during holidays, weekends, and busier summer days. There is a paid parking lot behind the building of the restaurant. We just learned there is a location in Knoxville and will definitely be trying that one next. read more

We ventured to Ruby Sunshine on a Sunday morning. There were a decent number of properly distances tables occupied, but we didn't have to wait to be seated. I started with an iced coffee and felt some regret that it was not a Sunday Funday, because the cocktail list looks wonderful. I got The Trifecta because I couldn't decide on a Benedict. Everything was delicious. The sauce with the shrimp was so tasty! The Hollandaise with the pulled pork was also wonderful. We will be back for sure!! I enjoyed the Bloody Mary w bacon vodka and great garnish as a start. The Spritz was a very good not too sweet option. Good biscuits, solid fried chicken biscuit, good omelette with lots of fillings. French toast bites for the table was a winner to share. Gluten-free French Toast was good- not great but so nice to have it on the gluten-free options.
