Andre was our server and hands down the best service we have ever had great customer service great guy made us feel very welcome we came from Westminster MD about a 25 minute drive but well worth the drive and friendly atmosphere...

Salad bar was a mess. Food was not to bad. Server was either new or just not in the right career. Never took a single plate off the table the entire meal. We were seated at a two person booth so it got really crowded. Probably won't come back again any time soon.

I'd give it 10 stars if I could! My waiter Xander was the most handsome fella. Food was great! Restaurant looks like a fine dining type of place!

Terrible experience!! Would definitely avoid!! To begin I ordered a club soda and was told they didn't have it. Then the waiter came back and said they did however when I tasted it the soda was completely flat. I ordered a Caesar Salad without the chicken. Our server then offered me the salad bar because it would be cheaper. I politely said no thank you, I would just like the salad. He then continued to pressure me into the salad bar and when I declined again his attitude completely changed. When I got the salad the lettuce was wilted and brown. No croutons. My sister ordered the crab cakes, their current special, and they were out of tartar sauce. The waiter brought the check very early in the meal and didn't offer dessert or to see if we wanted anything else. I sent my salad back because it was so unappetizing with the bad lettuce. He didn't apologize nor did the manager come to the table. They did take the meal off of the bill. Awful customer service. Will not return. Go somewhere else!

We arrived early in hopes of beating the crowd. We were seated right away. Our waitress, Abby, was the only person we saw on the floor except the host who sat us. She was doing it all. And doing excellent at it. Go easy on the help at any restaurant/bar/cluc/store etc that you visit...they must, but order of the governor, run on skeleton crews. Such a shame these places lose their ability to make money. But, the food was great, hot and tasty. Service was great!

I can't tell you how many times that medium is what I usually get when requesting medium-rare at restaurants. There's a big difference between the two in terms of internal temperature, center color, and texture. This place knows how to properly cook a medium-rare burger, and for me, that's a sign of quality and sets it apart. The sidewinder fries are fab as are the homemade potato chips and either comes with burgers. The dressing on the coleslaw needs some seasoning, but the slaw itself is fresh and crunchy. The Maryland crab soup is pretty slammin', too. I favor the back dining room, not the bar (in front). These 2 areas have different vibes. The back room feels like the way a burger joint should be. The bar is, well, more bar-ish. One of the servers, Brody, provides exceptional service--a shout out to him. This establishment's name is playful and clearly informs the customer as to what their specialty is: hamburgers. I bought one of their T-shirts, perhaps that says it all.

I should've left and found another option altogether. We both ordered burgers (of course), his a bacon cheeseburger with fries and coleslaw, mine a patty melt on rye bread with Swiss cheese, fries and coleslaw. Both medium rare. Both came out medium well, no coleslaw, one invisible slice of cheese on each burger and white bread instead of rye on my patty melt. The grilled onions actually looked more like onion jam and the trays with black/white checkered paper this is served on looks like it's never seen a sponge or water. No, I can't recommend this place.

A burger in one place is much the same as a burger in any other? Ha!…read more The Blue & Gray Bar & Grill, right in the center of historic Gettysburg, goes one better. We'd spent an entire day touring the battlefield, it's a Saturday, and the town is full of tourists. No surprise we had a thirty minute wait for a table. But once inside and seated, it was clear to us that the B & G was no ordinary bar & grill. The burgers are themed for generals, both Federal and Confederate, who took part in the battle. Each burger is characterized by the general it's named for. The General Buford, for example, is served with bleu cheese crumbles and horseradish (he's a cavalry officer, get it?) and the Robert E. Lee features a slab of Virginia ham. I ordered the General George Meade. Meade was a Pennsylvanian, so naturally this burger comes with a pile of Philly cheesesteak. A carnivore's delight, to be sure. No complaints here. And if I'm ever back this way, I'm curious to try the General Longstreet: it's served with carmelized onions and peanut butter. That's gotta be good.

"Oh im a girl, I dont know beers" say what? Then hands me a hand written list of beers to choose from. Also she totally forgot to put in one of the orders, for a table of 7. Yea, how do you miss a whole meal??? I asked for a medium burger, got medium rare. Along with cold fries. Who eats rare burgers??? The burger was delicious, but too rare for me (got the blue cheese one, named after some general) Overall I wouldn't recommend this place unless all you want is burgers and wings. Cause thats all they have. Oh and expect to wait in line with everyone else for a table. The place is smaller than it looks.

We all shared a fried pickle app. Fried pickles were standard with a house made dill type dip. Dip was good but portion could be a bit larger. Poutine was ok. I'm not a fan of cornstarch dusted fries-so there's that. The short rib was tender and plentiful. Oddly, though the short rib and the gravy didn't have a very beefy flavor. So the poutine was sadly underwhelming in my point of view. The portion is large enough to definitely share. My daughter's chicken thigh sandwich was good. She thought it was flavorful the sauce on. It was nothing to write home about. The house made chips were OK. My mom's cheeseburger looks really good. It was cooked just as she ordered. She said it was very tasty. It came with like a barbecue sauce on it, but she said overall was very good. They have a rather large drink menu with products from their distillery. The prices were not crazy. That skillet of poutine was $16. Total bill for three of us with fountain sodas an iced tea, our bill was $82. They have a bar it is somewhat kid friendly so give it a try.

My uncle ordered a cup of chili to start. It was served hot which is always a bonus. Not too spicy even though it had a spice label next to it on the menu. The presentation was nice as it's served with 4 tortilla chips. My Aunt opted for the babyback ribs served with fries. My uncle's main dish was the soft shell crab tacos while I went with the brisket mac and cheese and side Caesar salad. These items, with exception of the salad, were on a separate menu, likely seasonal. The servings are large (even the side salad)! I barely put a dent in my Mac and cheese. I was a little disappointed that the brisket that was "folded" within my MAC and cheese was playing Hide-and-seek. I would prefer more protein in that dish based on the quantity of pasta. The salad was well-dressed. At most restaurants I have to add caesar dressing to the salads. I washed it down with a sweet tea while my Uncle tried the White Birch beer. My aunt thought the baby back ribs were dry, and had a bit too much sauce on it. It would have been nice to have less sauce on the ribs, with additional sauce on the side. My uncle did not think the soft shell crab tacos were all that (although novel), which is probably why he ordered. It had more batter on it, and one can barely taste the crab. He said he would not order it again. As residents they will not go back to this restaurant anytime soon, and can't really recommend it unless someone just wants to try give it a try. I'll have to try the root beer on my next visit. Our waiter was very attentive and the volume in the restaurant was reasonable enough to have table conversations. I definitely recommend stopping at one of these locations if you're visiting or passing through.

We came in about an hour before closing, and our server Aedan was absolutely wonderful. She was energetic, sweet and attentive, and never made us feel rushed. Easily some of the best service we've had in a long time. We started with the Supreme Nachos, and these are definitely meant to SHARE! They were HUGE and absolutely loaded. The housemade chips were incredibly crispy, and I loved the addition of banana peppers. They added a tangy bite and different kind of heat alongside the jalapeños. Some of the best nachos we've had outside of a Mexican restaurant, and our table of four still only finished about half! My mother-in-law got the Reuben with onion rings and said it was the BEST Reuben she's ever had. That says a lot because it's one of her usual orders when eating out. She especially loved how flavorful and tender the corned beef was. My husband got the Tuesday special of 3 steak tacos for $10. The steak was tender and tasted like quality cuts of beef. His only criticism was that it could use more seasoning and that a housemade spicy ranch or signature sauce could really take the tacos to the next level. I got the fish and chips, and the haddock was MASSIVE! The thin, crispy batter stayed perfectly attached, and the fish was hot, flaky and tender. The very thin tail end was slightly dry, but it was such a small portion that it didn't take away from the meal. The biggest surprise was their housemade tartar sauce. Creamy, tangy and slightly sweet from the relish. Hands down my favorite tartar sauce I've had! The seasoned battered waffle fries were also delicious, and they give you a TON. The coleslaw wasn't personally my preferred style since I like a finely minced, sweeter and juicier slaw, while theirs was longer shredded and drier, but that's completely personal preference. Portions here are HUGE, so several meals could easily be shared or give you plenty of leftovers. We also loved the cozy neighborhood pub atmosphere with exposed brick, dark wood, baseball and Eddie Plank memorabilia, and moodier lighting. Between the food, atmosphere, huge portions and especially Aedan's wonderful service, Gettysburg Eddie's has officially earned a spot in our Gettysburg rotation. We can't wait to come back!

We were there on a busy Saturday; they were clearly slammed and probably understaffed, and it took a bit over 20 minutes after ordering to get our food. Other than the wait for the kitchen, the service at the table was very good. It felt a bit pricey at about $62 for two with tip. Cheesesteaks were good but on the small side for $17 and $19 (the latter on a gluten‑free bun), and a little light on the Cheese Whiz. That, plus a cider and a Coke, left the overall experience somewhat underwhelming.

It was nice because we didn't wait long to be served and we had I nice view of the entire restaurant. A very rustic place that looked as I would imagine it did in 1863. My friend ordered a Caesar salad, fillet, and a baked potato. The salad came with a freshly baked yeast dinner roll. Fillet was cooked to perfection. I ordered the King's Soup which was French onion soup except with large chunks of tender beef in it. My entree was the Spring House Salad which was mixed greens, apples, walnuts, chipped smoked turkey, with herb dressing and it was divine. The sleeper of the meal was the datenut bread with cream cheese that came with my salad. A dark brown molasses bread with dried fruit and nuts. It was so chocked full of nuts and fruit while the dough was the most moist bread I've ever had. I couldn't eat both pieces after the meal so took it in a to go container.
