We've passed by this Ruby's a couple of times, each time wishing we would stop by. We have nostalgic memories of Ruby's so when we see one we're immediately drawn to it. One day we decided to stop by the Citadel outlets, primarily to eat here (priorities!). There's plenty of parking at the outlets but be prepared to walk a bit. Walking up we were initially confused where to go as there's an order window right next to a food truck. We approached the window and ordered burgers, fries, and a strawberry shake. We were directed to a shaded seating area around the corner with social distancing in mind. Our shake and food arrived fairly quickly. I had the bacon cheeseburger and our food came with plenty of ketchup and ranch. The burgers were how we remembered them to be - nice portions and very tasty. The shake is so good especially in the brutal heat we've been having lately! If you're in the area and want a tasty treat, go to Ruby's and grab a shake! Back again 11/16/23 almost the same order 50/50 orange milk shake, Ruby's club and sweet potatoe fries . Had to come in and sit down for lunch. It has been a while since I stopped at this location. Service was fast food was out 1st but the milk shake never came this visit. Someone went on break and i never got what i ordered. ambiance was typical for a Ruby's restaurant. We stopped here for lunch. The food was good but average. We got a couple burgers. The classic burger was good and the super burger had a lot of flavor and avocado was really good. We got onion rings and sweet potato fries both were tasty, definitely recommend the onion rings. This was my first time ever eating at this place. The man who greeted us was very welcoming. (He's short with black hair) The waiter is another story. (He's tall) My friend and I ordered burgers. The waiter kept coming to our table only every 2-5 minutes to ask if we need anything else, I was bothered and found this weird since there's more people for him to ask, not just us. This bothered me because I'm having a conversation, while trying to eat and repeat myself to the waiter, we're fine. He then placed a receipt at the table while I was eating. I felt uncomfortable and decided to leave. The burger was good but had too much mustard so I left it at the table. The restaurant looks very nice and inviting but this one experience will be the only one. I won't be going back to this place. read more

All these years and I finally tried Ruby's. Gotta love an old style diner. Cool red decor and a vintage metropolitan. Big fan of the candy stripe outfits. Quickly friendly service. Our food came out fast. Ordered corned beef hash and eggs. I think more seasoning was needed and was cooked a little too long. My child loved her waffle but her favorite was the strawberry milkshake. My husband and kids decided to have dinner here on Saturday night after doing some shopping. We ordered our food and it came out within 3 minutes of ordering which should of been a red flag. We all ended up sick that night with food poisoning. I'm thinking maybe because it was the end of the today and maybe we were served food that had been left out all day. Food runner delivered the food and the waitress checked in within a minute to make sure everything came out okay. I ordered the breakfast sandwich. I got mine without bacon or the spicy mayonnaise. I had to push the plate away so I didn't get sick from inhaling it! The sourdough bread was super soft and tasted great. Not sure if baked fresh here or brought in. But non the less super good. Home fries were cooked well. Some darker then others which personally how I like mine. If you're looking for a "true" diner, this is not that. But, they are making a good run for it. This my second time going to Citadel, the parking is crazy but I got lucky this Sunday afternoon.It was for my nieces 15th birthday, I was amazed how fast we got in for the size of the party we had. We sat on the balcony and it was a pretty day. Maribelle was a very proactive in serving all of us, she got the food out and a really timely manner. This review is based on their new chili. It seems a couple of months back Ruby's change their chili. The old chili was very unique with a great flavor and shredded beef. The new chili is a generic Hormel style chili with ground beef. Our waitress, Brianna was great and very accommodating when we inquired about the change in chili. It was nice to see that the endless fries are still available in these crazy times. Other than the chili, which was a huge draw for me, everything else great. The booth wasn't the cleanest, but our waitress (Elaine?) was pleasant. Waters came quickly, and food in succession. Waitress forgot to put one milkshake in, so it came late. The chocolate chip cookie dough milkshake wasn't super well blended, so there are whole chunks of cookie dough that sink to the bottom. The fries are pretty good, and the burger is pretty standard. Went for a day of Christmas shopping at the Citadel. family got hungry so we stopped in at Ruby's. The waitress was a bit curt but that's OK, I can deal with that. Ordered some burgers and Fish and Chips. I wouldn't say it was bad but it wasn't good. It appears like they didn't even try. Thrown together sloppily, smashed buns and two small pieces of fish. There's an old school car on display that you see as soon as you walk in and some nice music playing. Service is impeccable. Nor'easterners, rejoice! This restaurant is a little retro place tucked into the Citadel Outlets. Styled to resemble a circa 1950's Diner, complete with a Nash Metropolitan car as you walk in. The place reminded me of the diners back east, the details, including signs, custom coffee urns and the wait/bus staff uniforms showed it. We were seated promptly and greeted by our waitress, Kim immediately. I got a coffee to go since I can't drink until 30 minutes after eating, we both ordered the Breakfast Grilled Cheese... a sourdough grilled cheese with 2 eggs over hard, bacon, avocado, and chiplote mayo, with a side of home fries. The food came out quickly, was nice and hot and tasted amazing! Fun fact: men use more ketchup on average then women... they brought me 2 small cups and my wife got 1, who knows this fact except this restaurant, and apparently my wife... ...back to the review, our waitress Kim was friendly through the entire visit, checked on us several times, brought our check and cashed us out promptly. When I walked in the dinner it took me immediately to a classic dinner but oldies style , I ate the classic burger with cheese and it was delicious. But I must admit I loved to see the great vibe and teamwork all the workers have from the cooks to the waiters and bus boy everyone was on point. I was so happy to find that this location is still open. Of course, like everywhere else right now it is take out only. I had previously tried getting a shake from the Ruby's in NoHo but their machine was broken. So we called this location and placed an order on the phone. They answered the phone right away and let us know the order would be ready in twenty to thirty minutes. Due to how busy the mall was I had to drop my fiancé off so that he could pick up the items and then we met for some quick pictures by the tree before eating in the car. Our order was prepared correctly which was great with how busy it was. We had two chocolate milkshakes, a Ruby's burger & a blt with avocado. The fries were blah but that was not the locations fault. The line to get into the mall parking area was insanely long so we were about 15 mins or longer picking up our food. Very first visit to Ruby's today, located in the Citadel Outlets. Its such a fun restaurant, with a Vintage Theme. The food was reasonably priced and Delicious. All of the servers really seemed to enjoy working there, and had cute vintage style uniforms on. I can't wait to return and bring my grandchildren. My friend and I visited this location on Saturday evening when there was a lot of people. Despite that, we were seated almost immediately and our waiter Ethan did a great job and was very personable. I ordered the guacamole burger and the guacamole was fresh and flavorful. The patty was cooked perfectly and the fries were good too. For dessert I got the double fudge brownie sundae and it didn't disappoint. It's amazing if you're a big fan of chocolate like I am. All of the drinks and food we ordered arrived quickly. We didn't have to wait for a seat, as soon as she took our drink order she came right back out with them literally 2 minutes later at the most.
