We visited Ruby's Diner this evening to grab some dessert. We ordered 4 peanut butter cup shakes and a fudge brownie sundae. To our surprise the peanut butter shakes are no longer made the same way. They are now Reese's peanut butter cup shakes and are just vanilla shakes with the candy mixed in. Before they were vanilla shakes with chocolate and real peanut butter added in and were so much better. They even look different now. My wife sent hers back and the rest of us pushed through. Great service from the staff just not the quality in the shakes we are used to. Probably won't return unless the original recipe returns. read more

Best burger and fries combo because of the RANCH. I am so addicted to their ranch dipping sauce. I usually get the Ruby burger combo no cheese and a side of ranch as my goto order. Their ranch is literally the best ranch ever. It goes so so well with the burger and the fries. It taste so different than salad ranch. Its the perfect combination of creamy, tangy goodness. I always hit up this place for lunch or dinner if I'm at the citadel. The patty is always juicy and cooked perfectly. I like the fact thst they dont include onions or pickles. Theres bottomless fries with any order and the service is a hit and miss depending on how crowded the shopping center is. I've tried the cocktail shrimp appetizer and its just alright. Decent diner food. This is the only sit down restaurant at Citadel other than the food court. I love the diet cherry Coke here. Their fries are supposedly unlimited. We are regular Ruby customers and were disappointed that they charge 60 cents for a side of ranch. Pretty ridiculous when all of the other location's don't! . It was my family's first time eating at Ruby's. The service was great. The aesthetics makes you feel like you're living in the 1950s. The shake was the best thing that my family drank. This place was appealing all done up as a shiny diner with chrome and black and red. Servers in cute outfits and kitsch decor. I ordered a soup and half sandwich. I had to send the soup back as it wasn't hot at all. Once I got it back, the white clam chowder was a tad thick but decent. The half sandwich was a turkey with cranberry sauce and lettuce and tomato. I asked for no mayo with mayo on the side. It came with mayo on it. They took the bottom half of roll back and replaced it with a plain -- untoasted - roll. The turkey was real slice off the bone kind, the Tobago slice okay, the lettuce too frilly. So the sandwich was just okay. Best part of he meal? My husband's vanilla malted shake. Ruby's never seems to be as good as I remember it to be. That probably says more about me than it does Ruby's, but still. Breakfast was mildly OK. When I got to my sunny side ups eggs I started enjoy them and soaking my toast into yoke. Didn't realize I taste something I've never tasted before since I was a kid. That's when my mom put a bar of soap in my mouth every time that I cussed. But when you get taste of soap in your breakfast that is on your plate it doesn't really taste good. So I told the waitress and she said I'll tell the manager. So I waited and I waited and I waited. Doesn't look like a manager really doesn't care. I was here for dept lunch on a Monday in June. The place wasn't crowded near 12 noon. We got a big booth and ordered water and cherry coke. The waitress was nice and took our order so I ordered guacamole burger and cherry coke. She was good on refills too. We didn't wait too long our burgers arrived and it was delicious. Shopping for some shirts and needed a snack so here I am :) The restaurant itself is spacious with retro red sofa seats. It still looks very new and clean. I've been eating ruby's for a long time and it's not the best but good enough where I wouldn't mind eating here. Plus this is actually the only decent place to eat at inside the citadel outlet so here I am. I ordered the clam chowder and frings (which is Frenchfries with onion rings. They're both good enough to satisfy my hunger but didn't want to order too much cuz most of the shops closes at 9pm and I need to buy more stuff lol. Friendly staff. They close at 9 PM but were cool when we walked in at 840. We ordered the impossible burger from the menu, but the waitress informed us they changed it to the beyond burger. The diner has taken a dive. I recently ordered a turkey sandwich with garlic fries. The flavor on the garlic fries were good, unfortunately the fries were stale. The turkey meat was unsatisfactory, a cheap type if sandwich meat, and when the sandwich was cut in half the cook must have used his lead hand to hold it down as the bread was smashed. Restaurant was not very busy for a Tuesday at 6 pm. Lots of open seating, orders were taken swiftly and carefully by ataff. Had water cups filled regularly and staff was friendly. The bathroom was a MESS, however. No toilet paper in any stalls because they were all over the floor, wallpaper was peeling, doors kicked in and the paper on the back of the door indicated no one had been in to clean it at all that day. I mentioned the bathroom situation to the manager right away but it didn't seem any cleaner upon leaving. Especially for a non-busy restaurant, a clean bathroom is a must. We were immediately amused by the restaurants retro decor- there's even an old school car decorated in the middle of the restaurant! The servers are also dressed up to fit the part. We ordered our burgers and received our food almost immediately! The burgers weren't anything extraordinary, which we somewhat expected being located in an outlet mall. I must say the fries were a bit of a let down- if the cheese on the Parmesan fries was actually melted, I think it would be a slam dunk! I was at the outlet and figured I'd grab something to eat a little something so I went to Ruby's. I haven't been to this location but it was very nice on the inside. I went with the breakfast and it was ok, I was a little disappointed. The bacon was not cooked all the way, the eggs were ok but I didnt see the cheese or onions I asked for and the potatoes would have been much better if it would have had onions and peppers. I usually eat here when I come to this outlet. I really choose this because it's airconditioned, large, and a small step above fast food or food court. They have decent burgers and we've always had good service. Have we had to wait? A little bit, but never more than a few minutes. The food usually comes out pretty quickly, unless you order something weird, which my friend did the last time we came. If you want to take it a bit slower than a to-go box, I'd come here for a nice burger. read more

Decided to load up before doing last minute shopping before ringing in 2019. Parking can be a challenge but Ruby's have their own designated parking for customers for 60 mins. We were seated immediately. Within minutes...the waitress introduced herself (Jasmin)and took our order. She was nice, pleasant, and friendly. This place is packed with tourist from all around...I can make out people speaking in Mandarin, Thai, Vietnamese...and Spanish. Food came out pretty quick. My friend ordered Avocado Turkey and I went for the seafood combo. I should have known better then to order deep fried fish & shrimp in a place known for burgers. The battered was burnt and filled with oil. My friend finished his burger while I was still trying to pick out my oily batter. 4 stars for friendly service and 1 star less for quality of my seafood combo. Service is just awful. Came here with my husband last month after doing some shopping. We were seated quickly since it wasn't busy, but waited 15 MINUTES without the waiter to come check in or take our order. He was chatting with other people- because it wasn't busy!! We tried to get his attention, but he ignored us. Called for the host, and she also tried to get his attention. She seemed pissed and frustrated. I came for breakfast for Mimi's Birthday (my grand daughter). Our order was taken by Esmeralda quick and I must say , she was so helpful with our food. She also made terrific recommendations.
