My family and I love coming here! We truly enjoy the fun retro style, welcoming atmosphere, delicious food, and the amazing staff. Alondra and Manny always make us feel right at home! Alondra was absolutely wonderful during our visit tonight -- so attentive, friendly, and genuinely joyful in the way she serves. You can tell she really enjoys what she does, and it shows. She was on top of everything and made our experience even better. And Manny, the manager, consistently goes above and beyond. He makes sure everyone who walks through the doors feels welcomed and well taken care of. He's attentive, kind, and clearly great at what he does. We also appreciate how involved he is in the community -- it makes supporting this location even more special!

This is a $22 combo with small cup of clam chowder. The chicken is bad. There is more batter than the actual chicken. There's too much pepper in the batter as well. The service was great though.

While more and more fancy and pricey burger joints are popping up everywhere, there is nothing more down to earth and American than grabbing a classic cheeseburger and a shake or a Coke from a Ruby's. This 1950's themed diner has been a part of many local communities for over four decades and very little has changed through the years. The restaurant still features the same booths with bright red and comfy sofas, the servers still wear the same vintage retro-style uniforms, and memorabilia from the days of Big Band music still decorate the walls. Their burgers are always good and accompanied by fresh and piping hot shoestring fries that are properly salted. The meat is flavorful and not too greasy. I also like the toasted brioche bun. I usually go with the classic which comes with American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and Ruby's secret sauce. Sometimes when I want to add some flavors from south of the border, I'll order the guacamole burger. Another one of my favorites is the hickory burger which comes with smoked bacon and BBQ sauce. I find the prices here reasonable and affordable for a treat at a local diner. Their service is usually prompt and courteous. The atmosphere is bright and cheerful and is certainly family friendly.

By far my family's favorite restaurant, Ruby's is truly special. It's hard these days to find a throwback diner with that real "Happy Days" vibe but they've nailed it. From the decor, menus literally everything is 1950's magical. This specific review will highlight Christmastime at Ruby's, which is a family tradition for us to break away during all the busy busy and just enjoy a nice dinner in the midst of all the shopping and wrapping of the holiday. Any train lovers out there? They have a model train not just on display but running in the dining room towards the back (walk in go far right) and the decor is subtle, very small town but with enough touch for a beautiful photo op. Food is always amazing, best burgers this side of town and by far, the #1 spot in So Cal for shakes. Come by for the holidays and believe me, you will be amazed!

We were lucky and found a parking space on Bush St. We both ordered the Classic Hammer Burger ($10) and a regular order of shoestring fries. I was surprised at how busy they were. The burgers come out fresh and hot. They are smashed thin and have a crispy edge. The slice of cheese is perfectly melted. There are grilled onions at the bottom of the burger and the top is dressed with thick cut pickles and a decorative drizzle of Hammer Sauce. One of the things I like most about this burger is the overall texture and the proportions of beef to the steamed potato bun. It's soft and melty and delicious. The fries are great too (thin and crispy) and they have a nice selection of house sauces. Their signature Hammer Sauce, White BBQ sauce, Garlic Sauce, Chipotle Mayo, Jalapeño Ranch and Ranch. I went around the world and tried every one. Customizing your sauce by mixing a few together is not a bad idea and likely a veteran move. I have had their sweet potato fries before and they are above average. I have also had their chili cheese fries and a cup of chili...not bad. Their Flatty Melt ($11) was the first burger I tried when going the first time. Unique and tasty. I've also had Spicy Smash ($11) that has a pile of grilled jalapeño's on top. It's hot so be prepared. They have a nice selection of beers but I haven't gone down that road yet. Lunch was so good, I bought my son-in-law a $75 gift certificate. The downtown area has really be revitalized and now it's fun to walk around.

The staff were friendly and attentive. We arrived right before the dinner rush. The place had TVs on and music playing. It seemed like a fun place to eat and hang out. One of the staff mentioned how they were packed last weekend with all the FIFA games. We ordered take out - a classic Hammer Burger, a half order of chili cheese fries, and a small order of onion rings. Sauce station was near the soda, you could get whichever ones you liked. Despite our 15 minute drive home, the food was still warm and really delicious. The burger had good flavor with and without their house sauce. The chili cheese fries were skinny fries with a cheese sauce and bean-less chili. The chili was filling and had a little kick to it. The batter-fried onion rings were (still) crispy and yummy with both ranch and the house sauce. We will definitely be back to fill our smashburger and chili cheese fries cravings! PS- The bathrooms were clean.

And let me tell you I am STUFFED that was a big burger. The meat tastes like beef, not every seasoned, they let the bacon give it some salt which is perfect, the American meaty cheese sings in the background the veg was nice and fresh. I will say the pickles could have been bigger and crunchier. But that's a perfect burger! The fries were plentiful but under seasoned, very hot and fresh but for sure could use more seasoning. If you want a burger. Come here. It's great it's comfortable it's fast it's cheap. DO IT

From the two, the gully smash was our favorite--it's like a classic smash burger but the addition of pastrami enhanced it! The Bhangra smash was definitely different than any burger I've had before but you can definitely tell the south Asian influences in this one. The burgers were both enjoyable, however, they were on the oily side and felt a bit heavy. I'd say prices here were also pretty steep for what you're getting. I'd say that this is a great option for halal burgers, but I think if you're not restricted to eating halal meat, there are burger options that I like more. The restaurant itself is in a food court that has a decent amount of both indoor and outdoor seating.
