Pretty good! We eat here quite often because it is close to the house! Ate there today and service was a bit off. The waitress repeated everything we said to her. Our order did come out right but the ordering process took forever for 3 kids and 2 adults due to the constant repeating. And we had to continue to ask for refills on our sodas and water. Cant' go wrong with their food - something for everyone. Glad they expanded their menu with more taco options as well as a healthier section too! This is a frequent spot for us, but not one of our favorites. The issue I have with Ruby's is that their prices have gone way up. The cheapest meal on the menu is close to $10, and that is for a hot sandwich (burger, tuna melt, etc.) and fries. Even the prepared salads dishes are $12-$13. If you want a malt or shake that is another $5.00+. The value just isn't what it used to be. In their defense the place is always immaculately clean and the shakes and malts are as good as anywhere in town. The service is pretty good, but can be at times a bit slow. If you go early you can have no wait, but if you hit rush hour the line can be 15 minutes. Good place for kids and seniors (special prices) but so-so for adults. read more

Great place to take the family. Of the kids get a red gumball out of the machine, they get a free root beer float with the next meal. Love the hickory burger and onion rings. Their ice cream shakes are delish. Oreo, strawberry, and holiday pumpkin are my favorites. read more

If I could give it negative stars I would. Bathroom was not properly stocked (luckily the person with me had napkins in her bag) which the host only went in because I told her she needed to. Once seated at the table we were not greeted by our server and the host never said our servers name or that they'd be by in a minute. My mom, uncle and I went 2 this Ruby's b4 I went 2 c the Endocrinologist 10min away. When we walked in we right away were seated. I had their Cinnamon Roll French Toast with scrabble eggs. I could really taste the cinnamon. This was so good. I've had it once b4. I also had a lemonade with my food and it's taste was unbelievable. U could really taste the lemon. My fiance and I decided to stop in here on 05/05 at around 6pm.... It was a little busy but there wasn't a line out the door or anything. We got seated and it took the waiter 15 minutes to take our drink order and then 15 minutes after that just to take our regular order. After that our food was dropped off and we were asked if we needed anything else, I asked for a side of ranch..... long story short, our waitress never came back with my ranch or to ask how the food was or to get us a refill. We have not gone to the Tustin Ruby's for 2 years because of poor food quality & taste. This includes my getting deathly ill after eating a burger there. I returned to let the Manager know - he said I got ill over something else, not Ruby's food! Never even discussed possible problems, just dismissed me out of hand. Today we decided to try it again for breakfast. BIG MISTAKE! My companion had a professional relationship with Ruby Executives in the past and knows that their mission was to serve quality food. He can't understand how Ruby's could have sunk to this level. He had eggs Benedict, which were totally tasteless! I had the breakfast burrito. Ruby's got it right. this is regarding kids drink cups. Ruby's get the extra star for getting the kids cups right. First the service was friendly and courteous as always. Ok - so I realize I wasn't going to a five star steakhouse but I did expect to get a decent burger at Ruby's and that definitely did not happen. Ordered a strawberry shake for more than five dollars and it was really bad. The strawberry had a strange metallic flavor that overpowered the entire shake. As for the burgers, greasy is the best way to describe them. My half pound burger was under cooked it was completely raw on the inside and still it was a greasy mess. My son ordered the sliders and they were so greasy by the time they reached the table, the bottom bun was soaked through and completely wet. Took some burgers to the kids at home and had to leave the car windows down to air out the stink of old grease- maybe the fries? I have been to Ruby's in the past and while it was never great, it was always ok and the kids enjoyed it. This time even my son said that the food was gross. $10 burgers should be better than this! I ate hear last week and decided to treat myself to a burger with their bottomless fries and a shake. Normally they don't expect someone to eat more than one helping of the fries, but I explained to my waiter that I had just gotten back from a business trip and the flight's food was so terrible I decided to wait half a day to enjoy two, maybe three servings of their fries. He was such a good sport he brought made sure my fries were full up until I asked for the check and even gave me a carry out bag for the last of it. Since COVID we have ordered from this Ruby's often, usually for delivery. We've rarely had an issue. However, a few weeks ago when we ordered, the delivery driver spilled our milkshakes all over our driveway. They were completely gone. Ruby's contracts out their deliveries to Postmates, but since it was $8 worth of milkshakes, I emailed Ruby's to see if they could do anything for us. The general manager kindly offered to give us two free meals on our next order. I thought this was very generous and he told me next time we ordered just to call and give my name and they would comp me. When I called tonight I spoke with a different manager, but he had the information and took our order. He then told me not to worry, that the entire order would be free. Best shakes when you got the craving. They always give you more shake than the glass holds. Usually ends up being 2 glasses full. Their French fries are nice and crispy and their burgers are perfect and juicy. The staff is friendly and attentive. This place is always consistent when I want a nice burger fries and a shake. His friend asked for no french fries and no croutons with his burger, the salad came loaded with croutons and fries !. He tried to flag her down to let her know about the salad, but ended walking over to the register to speak with the manager. HAIR IN FOOD! Manager did not stop by the table to apologize. He sent the server over with a coupon for a milkshake. Server said, my manager said to give this to you. Well, thank you for the thought but, I'm allergic to dairy and I don't live in California to use it. On top of that the server forgot to ring in my cousins food. So not only did I have to wait for a new meal, but so did my cousin!!! When I brought the bill to the manager he casually says so I hear you're not from California so you can't use my milkshake coupon..... (Still no apology for how gross hair in anyone's food is) I let him know that the server also forgot to ring in my cousins food. So he said hey, how about I take 8 bucks off your meal...leaving me at $30. I'm sorry, most restaurants that I choose to dine with would have comped the whole meal and had been so apologetic about the experience. No one really seemed to care. I hate to give bad reviews, but the last 3 times I've been here I've had the same experience. The service is just not good. The food is ok, but really not worth the bad service. This last time was the worst. There seemed to be a bunch of younger waitresses behind the counter chatting. None of them were helping the patrons in the restaurant. We waited almost 10 minutes before someone even came over to our table. The gal that served us wasn't even one of the many girls behind the counter. Our service was terribly slow but I don't know if it's because it seemed our waitress was the only one that was actually waitress-ing or what. It sure seemed that way. My grandma said her chili was terrible and my mom and my meals were just ok. With the truly horrible encounter I had over at Ruby's Streamliner Lounge in Orange and now the last 3 times this Tustin restaurant has been poor, Ruby's is no longer going to be getting my business. read more

My son was hungry so I went in to Rubys to be greeted by know one. I waited then I walked to the chef and placed my order. A couple minuted later the GM-Betty asked if I had been helped. I told her I ordered with the chef and need to pay for what I ordered-a bacon and egg burrito plain. I was very specific that it needed to be plain for my son and she preceded to tell me what it comes with. I told her, I want the burrito plain with eggs, bacon, and tortilla.
