Wow - 25 minute+ wait - even for coffee. It is exciting you got a very large order of coffee, waffles and abelskevers, but to turn off first time customers due to poor logistical planning is not good for long term business. With large orders - consider reserving a small portion of the kitchen for regular orders to keep things moving. We considered going to the several other breakfast places we have been to many times and never had much of a wait - even with the local crepe place. We wanted to support a new local business, but aren't sure if this experience today was abnormal or what can be expected. We will question if we chance encountering the same experience or stick with our other tried and true favorites in town. Update: We had nothing going on this morning. So we waited the 30 minutes. Waited exactly an hour for three sandwiches and three side salads. They were good, but no where near worth the wait. We were not warned how long it would take. The worst part was when some kids went up and asked the workers to refill the water (completely empty); to which the response was "we are too busy". Waiting over an hour for our food with no water that entire time and a flat out refusal to fill it. Cherry on the top; we were lied too and told our order was "up next"; we then saw 6 orders come out before ours 25 minutes later. Absolutely horrendous service. Update: owner reached out and was extremely apologetic and sweet, and promised to speak with her staff regarding the water and letting guests know what waits are like. Yum! This is a fun new place down here! Had to introduce my girl to what a aebleskiver is! These things are hard to find and they were yummy!! We got the strawberry Nutella ones. I was a little Disappointed there was nothing in the middle. I've only ever had them stuffed so I was disappointed that there was nothing inside and just had toppings. But they were cooked perfect and super yummy!! My girl loved them. The balls were huge too! I can't wait to try the other flavors and the other things on the menu. So happy we found this little place on our way out of Bear Lake. It has great parking accessible for R v's, a cute little park that has outdoor games, and you can bring your pets. The food is absolutely amazing, and even a 1/2 a sandwich is good enough for a whole meal. It is made fresh and so you do have to wait a little but it is well worth the wait. I had the Razzle Dazzle Æbelskivers and they were amazing. These had a delicious cream cheese filling with fresh raspberries and raspberry preserve drizzled all over them. So good. My fiance ordered the Avocado Toast. The avocado's were too soft for her liking so she ordered the Peaches & Cream Æbelskivers. I thought that these were OK. They did not have the same cream cheese fillings as the Razzle Dazzle which was really too bad as this is what made those so good. Their White Chocolate Mocha was OK as well. I loved my visit to Ruca's. I would HIGHLY recommend the Aebelskivers, especially if you're there for breakfast. This place is a hidden gem in the sleepy lake town of Garden City!! The food is creative and fresh. The service was good and we loved sitting outside in the provided seating. It was open on a Sunday in April, which was nice for travelers. Just 2 minor details preventing a 5 stars. (1) I got a very small portion of chips with my sandwich. I couldn't stand the thought of fried food for lunch or heavy pizza so we ended up at Ruca's, twice actually, in the same day. We had breakfast which was decent (but expensive! And they don't serve waffles anymore) but the sandwiches were our favorite. I kept going back to them to ask when our food was coming out THREE times. On the fourth time, one of the cooks angrily asked me what my plates were, like I was the one at fault and an annoyance to them. Later found out they forgot my order!! Didn't get any discount or anything extra just gave me my plates and said basically tough luck. My boyfriend and I got hammered by the sun intensely-we got a sunburnt thanks to this place. We weren't able to go back to the beach to Jet Ski and Kayak like we wanted to and this cut our trip short. The sandwiches by the way were burnt and I ate couple of the chips and they were pretty much the same. This place is run by kids so if you see a line, you might want to think twice. My boyfriend and I decided to check this place out this morning based on all the positive reviews. The guy taking orders had no idea how to input our drinks, and the rest of the staff did not know what the drinks on their own menu were. My boyfriend ordered a 16 ounce cappuccino, which the woman helping teach the cashier stated was the same as a latte. This isn't true, they're not even the same price on the menu. He received 16 ounces of lukewarm milk with very little coffee and no foam. I ordered a 16 ounce chai with a shot. My drink had some nice foam, and the chai flavor was nice but they definitely didn't include my shot. We didn't order food, and based on the coffee I'm glad we didn't. For $10 I expect much better service and better drink quality. Not impressed. read more

We tried the Traditional with butter, powdered sugar, and syrup, the Razzle Dazzle with raspberry sauce, raspberries, powdered sugar, and their cream cheese mix, and the Peaches and Cream with peach sauce, peaches, cinnamon, and their cream cheese mix. They were big, fluffy, and DELICIOUS. All the pairings were amazing and the service was good as well. The coffee was great. It's a cute set up and a fun environment. The wait was also much shorter than they said as opposed to longer which was nice. We will definitely be back! I want to try the half sandwich/half salad combo, but I don't know how I'll ever be able to get something other than those aebleskivers! We really enjoyed going to this little restaurant with outdoor seating. We each had a French Dip and Lemonade, both were delicious. The weather was really great that day and sitting outside was a luxury for us (from Arizona). We went back and ordered the aebleskivers, red, white and blue, and they explained the recipe came from Denmark. The aebleskivers are not too sweet but more like a desert due to the toppings. Stopped here on our way out of town after coming from California for a family reunion. So fresh and tasty! I got the Pesto Turkey sandwich on white bread and it was delicious. I'm not a big eater so I was able to take the other half for the plane ride. There were three options for bread: wheat, sourdough, and white.
