We visited Ruca's for lunch and found the sandwiches just okay--nothing special. However, I highly recommend coming for breakfast and trying their Aebleskivers. That's where Ruca's really shines!

    Oh Let's E.

Ruca's is such a cute little place. They are very busy so The service is very slow. We ordered 4 drinks white chocolate mocha, caramel macchiato, iced coffee and a piña colada shake. The coffees are watered down brown water. The " breakfast " is not that good either. We ordered the big breakfast, mom breakfast and avocado toast. It was mediocre at best. The best thing on the menu was the Æbelskivers! 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Came for the Aebleskivers and they did not disappoint! I got the Peaches 'n Cream and it was soooo delicious. Generous portion of fluffy goodness and drizzled with a good amount of peaches and cream. We also ordered the Red, White, and Blue; and the Nutella one; both were devoured quickly. We also ordered a couple sandwiches to split. I got the Grilled Turkey Pesto, sooo yummy! Also the cute blonde that took our order was sooo sweet and helpful, I wish I would have caught her name to give her a true shout out. The outdoor seating was great and perfectly shaded. And the cute little shop was great to look around while we waited for our food. We are only visiting, but if we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be back!

This place is perfect. I love ebelskivers so much and grew up eating them on special occasions. This place is cute and has lots of seating outside and the service is fast and the food is fresh. The atmosphere is quiet and pleasant a drove 2 hours just to have these on a Saturday morning because this place is so good. Everything is delicious and I don't think you can go wrong I've now tried all the breakfast options. I do lean towards the Nutella and strawberries because I love that combo. The ebelskivers are fluffy and big and way bigger than the ones you might have had in Amsterdam. Very filling and I can't wait to come back!

The æbelskivers were soooo good! We got the nutty bliss and the red, white, and blue. You can't go wrong with either, they do take a bit of time to make but they're made fresh and are worth the wait. I also got a chai here that I didn't like too much but the food was A+

    Avocado Toast (with no tomatoes)

This place was nice! Quick service and a cool outdoor environment. We came for breakfast and my husband got the parfait and thoroughly enjoyed it! His favorite part were the larger chunks of granola and the freshness of the fruit. He wished there was more granola though. Overall, he'd give it an 8.5/10. I ordered the avocado toast without the tomatoes (not an heirloom fan). Everything was good, but I think it desperately needed salt / pepper or some sort of light seasoning. The balsamic glaze was great, but the blandness of the unseasoned egg and avocado was a little overwhelming. I also ordered a hot white chocolate mocha, and it was super sweet and very delicious. Definitely worth a try if you like sweeter drinks. We were satisfied with our breakfast, and the next time we're up in Garden City, we'll definitely try this place out for lunch!

Their Aebelskivers were really good. Fun place to get breakfast. Kids loved them. We will definitely be back!

This is a cute little hole in the wall sandwich shop and the sandwiches did not disappoint and really hit the spot. Service was quick and supper friendly. I definitely recommend!

Ruca's! .... I think we are off to the start of a wonderful friendship. We have a place in Bear Lake and are you there often. We have just now given them a try. Waited far too long!!!! Foolish. LOL We stopped by last Saturday to give them a try. It was fantastic. Of course I had to try their Æbelskivers (danish pancake balls). It might sound boring... but I like to stick close to the basics for my toppings - butter and maple syrup. So...for me, no strawberries, no Nutella, no whip cream. (Which the Mrs. absolutely loved! And admittedly, it looked amazing). They have a bunch of patio tables with umbrellas and great music playing. The views and surrounding are beautiful and exactly what one would seek on a Saturday morning, while relaxing at Bear Lake. The staff is friendly and take the time to make sure the presentation of what you order is top notch. If you happen to find yourself in Garden City and looking for a great place to have breakfast or a quick afternoon/evening bite... be sure to give them a try!! You will enjoy the visit. I am definitely looking forward to our next visit!

Bear Lake's Best-Kept Secret (That Apparently Everyone's Mad About?)…read more Let's get something straight: I've eaten at Bear Lake my whole life, and up until now, "dining out" here meant a basket of something fried in oil older than the lake itself. So when I tell you Campfire Grill made me remember what actual food tastes like, understand the weight of the statement. The margherita pizza comes out of the wood-fired oven blistered and glorious--like it's personally trying to make up for decades of regional culinary disappointment. The wedge salad's blue cheese has a faint smoky thing going on, dotted with tiny chives, and tasted like somebody in that kitchen has actually left the county before. And don't get me started on the wings: homemade buffalo sauce, still crispy, and not a hint of gas-station-regret afterward. Add giant open windows that turn the whole dining room into an al fresca reprieve, competent waitstaff, and you've got yourself an actual bona fide restaurant in a place that has subsisted on fry-baskets since one of the Roosevelt administrations. So, to the one-star crowd: I don't know what you were expecting. This isn't Salt Lake City. It's Bear Lake. And for Bear Lake, this is nothing short of miracle work.

This was my second visit, and unfortunately it was almost identical to the first. The welcome was not very friendly, and our waitress walked by the table several times before finally speaking to us. After that, she never really came back to check on us, ask whether we needed anything, or see how the food was. The next thing we knew, she was dropping off the bill. We ordered two appetizers, but only one was brought out. I also clearly mentioned that I have a food allergy, and she said she would let the kitchen know. Even so, the appetizer arrived with the ingredient I'm allergic to, and nothing was said about it. On top of that, the salad came with the wrong dressing. That said, the seared ahi tasted fresh, and the greens with salmon really hit the spot. The food itself was enjoyable, which makes the service issues even more disappointing. It is hard to overlook a missed appetizer, the wrong dressing, and especially the mishandling of a food allergy. This place has a lot of potential, but the service definitely needs work.

Let me start with the servers the first time in i was greeted promptly with a smile by Laken, my server. The atmosphere was cozy with defined areas. Everything was clean and and cared for right down to the bathrooms. i could tell ownership has a quirky sense of humor based on the merchandise they sell. As i waited for the meal i watched the two servers working diligently with a smile, they didn't miss a beat with being attentive to their patrons and all of the other aspects of their job. Honestly i watched too see if they could keep the same place throughout my time there they worked like a fine oiled machine. Without having to say a word to each other they knew what to do to help each other. I can't imagine this being an easy task.. The second time coming in, i really wanted to see if the excellence was a fluke, but to my delight it was the same great experience as the first time. Serenity, My server worked with the same diligence as the first time i watched her working and again without missing a beat of the friendly service as i had with Laken, the first time in. Now here's the kicker the service was so good, i asked to speak with a manager or owner, I was told there wasn't a manager or owner present. They were self monitoring, that blew me away, these young ladies working like they were on their own, it screams volumes for their work ethics and management. Now for the food, presentation was just like the menu pics. I apologize i failed to take pics as it was served so it is pics from the menu. The was good, the breakfast i had was cooked, in my opinion, perfectly. There breakfast sausage was different than any other I've had. I've been to a lot of places. I highly recommend this place even the locals were really friendly with conversation they made me laugh, one of the locals went out to his truck and brought this spoon guy to me. I live over an hour away but i will say well worth the drive mainly for the experience. Now if i have to say anything that i would like to see different it would be the fly traps. They aren't intrusive but i would maybe use an alternative. But I'm not a fly expert and it's not a deal breaker. The building shares an entrance with the truck stop/fuel station/convenience store. This makes it a bit confusing as to where the restaurant is located, but we found it. We had seen on other yelp reviews that this wasn't the cleanest place, and that is certainly true. The day we visited, the dining room was filled with flies. They were so pesky, that it made it difficult to sit and wait for our food because they just wouldn't leave us alone. A fly strip or two may have helped quite a bit with this issue. We sat at a low table, but there was bar seating as well, which most of the locals chose to use. Our table was a wood surface coated with a clear varnish that was sticky to the touch and likely not very cleanable. The condiments were very dirty and gross. We chose not to use them with our food. There was only one waitress working and one cook, and there were 3 other people besides us dining in. The food still seemed extra slow coming out. It appeared that the cook only worked on one order at a time, so we watched as each patron was served until ours came out. I ordered the Malibu Chicken Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. My sandwich didn't really have much flavor, but it tasted fine. My fries were not too greasy as can be the case with sweet potatoes. I was hungry and devoured my meal. My husband ordered the chili burger with tots. He said the chili was mediocre and the tots needed salt. I thought the tots had an old grease flavor that I did not care for. I don't think we'll be back again unless something changes.
