Stopped by Ruckus Pizza & Bar after arriving late into Raleigh and not having many late night options for food. When we arrived I was a little unsure how the food would be but I was pleasantly surprised. Additionally, since most businesses were closed in the shopping plaza parking was very easy. When we walked in you'll place pizza for order at the window at the front of the bar. After ordering we decided to stay and have a beer and just eat our pizza at the restaurant. I ordered a slice of pepperoni and a bull city Ciderworks Bludacris (Blueberry Lemonade) cider. Both were excellent with the cider not being too sweet and the pizza surprisingly being very good (NY thin crust style). This restaurant may look like a dive on the outside/inside but this is definitely worth the stop. read more

Ruckus was usually my go to for over 10 years. I've given my business to them for great pizza and generally have enjoyed everything I get there. Today the person taking my order was incredibly serious, and when I went to place my order I seemed to be interrupting his other work which was more important. Anytime I came up asking for anything, it seemed like I was inconveniencing him even more and pulling him away from lots of other more important things. Which made me feel bad that I was interrupting, but also made me realize that I shouldn't have to be made to feel like I'm interrupting in the first place. And if a place I swear by and sing the praises of to everyone I come in contact with doesn't want me or my business, then I don't have to come here again or give them the business. My pizza was eh compared to other times and the sandwich I ordered wasn't necessarily bad, but it lacked kick and flavor for being buffalo chicken. Potato salad was odd tasting. Probably because I don't eat bacon and it was heavy with bacon and bacon grease/flavor. That's all I could taste. I would have gone back to get something else instead, but with the unfriendly you're wasting my time service, I just threw the salad away. The lady who served my drink was nice enough. Ruckus as a chain or its management may not care as long as they keep making money, but you just lost a loyal customer and you're likely to lose more loyal customers if you alienate them with lackluster attitude and service. From the looks and reactions of the person who took my order and brought it to my table, you alreally don't seem to care much. At these prices, and with the general disposition of the person who took my order and delivered it to me (thank you for going to the trouble and parting with the other tasks you seemed so miserable and unhappy doing), I'll spend my money and get MORE that looks and tastes better by people who want the business more and are willing to treat their customers accordingly somewhere else. It's sad and a huge disappointment to part ways with this Ruckus location I have loved and sworn by unfortunately, but it's just not worth it. read more

I had a good time having dinner at Ruckus tonight. I've only ever been to the one in Apex so I was surprised that this was a no-serve restaurant, however I definitely didn't mind. My husband ordered the chicken parm with fries while I got the buffalo chicken combo with potato salad and they were both delicious. The sweet tea wasn't too sweet which was a bummer but everything else was great so it was fine. The food came out very quickly and it was only $30 for 2 people (not bad at all). This location is located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. The seating inside is kind of tight compared to the outdoor seating. The restaurant has themed days including trivia on Wednesday night. When you arrive you can order at the window & get your drinks including water from the bar. I got pizza where I was able to pick 6 toppings. The pizza was large and was served hot with fresh ingredients. The mozzarella sticks were also good. So first off they show a gluten free pizza option online and on their PDF menu, but you should know that THIS LOCATION DOES NOT HAVE GLUTEN FREE PIZZA. We came here expecting to get GF pizza for my girlfriend with a celiac allergy...there was pretty much nothing on the menu she could eat except a salad and they wouldn't even promise that wasn't cross contaminated. You order and pay at a window and then they call your name, so it's a serve yourself restaurant. Not sure why they ask for a tip on the receipts but being a good customer I tipped....I would suggest you save your tip until the end. I debated between the Italian, the turkey bacon, and the Philly cheesesteak. The cashier convinced me to get the Hot and Blue which is a cheesesteak with hot sauce and blue cheese. I got it with fries which was a $2 up charge...so the cheesesteak was horrible, worst Philly I've ever had in my life. The fries were good but it took me 30 minutes to get freaking ketchup. All the bottles were empty. I had to ask 4 times at the counter and just as my fries were getting cold after I finished my sandwich they found some. The Cobb salad was not that great either...cheap iceberg lettuce with no color and they added olives to it??? Who puts olives on a Cobb salad? My buddy got wings with the Rukus sauce and they weren't anything special, just bar wings with a weird BBQ flavored sauces. He also got the two slice drink combo that's $8....for cheese...but if you make them pepperoni it's $11. They charge $1 per topping per slice. That should have made it $10 but for some reason it was $11, maybe taxes? Anyway, the pizza was not that great either. We have no plans on ever returning but if I did I would try the Italian or Turkey Bacon as I originally planned. Oh...and they didn't even ask me which size I wanted when I ordered so I have no idea which one I got since they didn't give me a receipt either. Ruckus is my local pizza joint, and it never disappoints! I've fed plenty-a-traveler with a Ruckus pie! Pictured, 24" half Hawaiian and half sausage, pepperoni, mushroom... This was a great pizza that fed three people for 2.5 days. The meats were fresh and tasty. Not greasy. The cheese was great. The pineapples were welcomed by all! (If that's not your thing, there are plenty of other toppings!) The staff is always great. I usually leave the place smiling after a joke or two, or simple, friendly service. The crowd on weeknights and weekends speaks for itself. The place is friendly, when they have live music, it adds to the ambience. No-frills, just a pizza joint! Exactly what I'm usually looking for. I didn't have the highest expectations coming in, but I had a friend recommend it, so I gave it a chance for a weekday lunch. It is most definitely a dive with a small ordering space with a bar and bar tables in the back. There are several TV's behind the bar as well. For lunch, I did the 2 slices and beverage combo. It was $1.00 extra per topping per slice. So it was a little over $10, but that's decent enough. The slices were quite large, and the crust was nice and thin and crispy. Good quality sausage as well, plenty was added, and it was that round sliced sausage which I far prefer over crumbles. The best pizza I've had? No, but it was fair value. It's time, TO START, A RUCKUS! Or at least, to visit Ruckus for some great pizza, an atmosphere that warmed the heart of my inner child of the 90s, and easily one of the best values around. I, unlike many visitors of this place, have no connection to NC State... in fact... I cheer for a light shade of blue just down the highway. (Boo me if you want, kiss the rings.) That said, eating NCSU campus pizza is 100 times better than anything Duke could offer, so I was happy to eat pizza with the wolfpack for a night. I was especially happy too see that even late, I could get a really awesome tasting pizza and garlic knots for a reasonable price even in the era of rapid inflation. The two of us split a large pizza, all pepperoni, half mushroom for me, half green peppers for her. We also love garlic knots, and have to try them wherever offered. Love that this place is kind of half bar, half take-out space. Makes easy sense to order up front and if eating there, they bring it to you in the bar where you can start a tab for any drinks besides tea/soda. We love the divey atmosphere, and DEFINITELY loved the 90s alternative hits over the sound system the whole time we were there. Pizza came out within 15-20 minutes. Piping hot. Appropriate grease levels for a pep pizza. Garlic knots a little sooner, my pics make them look overdone, it was dark in there. I would say my preference is not as well cooked, but they were not burnt. I just like them doughier. Plenty of garlic flavor, the marinara sauce wasn't my all time favorite, but was certainly good enough. Pizza also, very good, not excellent, but nothing I would not eat again, and especially happy for the price! All in all. I would definitely roll with the pack again, and come back to Ruckus for another meal. This place was great, and I'd spend all my time howling here if I were a student! read more

We get take out from Ruckus (Mission Valley) like once a week, sometimes more. They have the absolute best pizza around and believe me, my husband is obsessed with pizza so we have tried everywhere. The salads are EXCELLENT. The ranch is top notch. I have absolutely nothing bad to say at all. We came here on a Thursday around 2 for some lunch. The inside is pretty small and the lighting is very low. They do have outdoor seating in the front of the building. We ordered the combo that came with two slices of cheese pizza and a drink and the buffalo wrap with fries. I will say the pizza slices was pretty huge but was good. The buffalo chicken wrap was good as well not really spicy and the fries were ehh. Overall it was good and quick service and I'll try the spot out again. I've been going to Ruckus Pizza since I was in high school in the late 90s. I've never ordered online ahead of time for takeout, but I tried it out for tailgating before the NC state vs FSU football game. I put in the order Thursday night and probably 10 minutes later I got a call from ruckus saying you paid for 6 toppings and only have one, and asking if I wanted to add more toppings or void this order out and order just pepperoni, because I was paying about $4 more than I needed to. We added toppings and they took care of everything. It was ready to go at the time I'd ordered it for and it was DELICIOUS, as always. Our office typically orders from Ruckus for meetings etc. I want to highlight that the staff here are kind. It's a lively atmosphere. Unfortunately the pizza doesn't match that. I placed a phone order to pick up 2 pies and a large salad at a set time ( simple enough) upon calling before leaving and arrival after the scheduled pick up time, my food was not ready. My salad was "being prepped". I waited 25 minutes. I'm a patient woman. Unfortunately my 2 pies for our work meeting sat for probably I would assume to be less than a hour. When I went to serve our staff, the pies were freezing cold. No one could enjoy them. Cold, Mushy and Undercooked pies. Why not have made the pies close to the pick up time if the salad wasn't ready ???? Why have pizzas sit out ???? Why not cook them thoroughly? Yes happy hour was happening, perhaps more kitchen help is needed. I was generous with my rating that went towards the kind staff at this establishment and the fellow that helped me carry the pies to the car etc. I understand that everyone is understaffed due to COVID19, but after paying $60 for cold food, I'm unhappy and won't return. read more
