Unfortunately, my wife recently had dental implants, so she could only eat softer foods. She ordered pancakes, eggs, and avocado. The pancakes were good--soft, fluffy, and delicious, exactly what she needed. The best review came from my wife when she said, "Let's come back." The bone marrow is served in a bone split in half. Also served with a baked potato. I didn't think my wife could finish it, but it was so good, she cleaned the plate. I had a cajeta crepe and my wife had the flan. She said the flan was the best she'd ever had. The crepe was delicious. Service: Over the top. It could not have been better. As with any high end restaurant in Mexico you can expect firat class service, comparable to what you would expect at a high end New York restaurant. Ambiance: Very nice. Quiet. Tables are spread out nicely. You will never be rushed out. There is no pressure to turn the table. Price: Relatively high. The Rib Eye with bone marrow was about $50 (1,000 pesos) and the regular steak was about $25 ($500 pesos). I highly recommend this restaurant.

That's exactly how we discovered Mariscos Titos... and the food turned out to be SO GOOD! The place offers an open-air restaurant experience, but we ordered and ate from the booth facing the road. The fish taco was really tasty; huge chunks of deep fried fish with a gloopy sort of guacamole. The best part? They're only like 10 pesos each (less than US$1)! You can adjust the spiciness with the condiments available on the table. I mean I can handle spice quite well but gosh, a tiny dash of the hot sauce had my mouth burning! Go light with this stuff. We also tried an ooey gooey cheese quesadilla. No frills; just cheese (lots of it) and a tortilla doin' their thing. When we visited, some of the cooks knew a bit of English and helped us to order so don't worry if you can't speak Spanish - they're happy to help!

A waitress handed us the two-sided menus and did her best with limited English to take our orders. From what we saw at the other tables, the portion sizes were huge. One person in our party ordered the Carne Asada Fries. I think that was one of the two meat-based items because everything else was seafood, hence the Mariscos in the business name. I selected a Pescado Sin Capear taco which literally meant 'unseasoned fish.' It was the house version of a fried fish taco. Instead of a breaded filet, the fish was cut into small strips before being flash fried. The pieces resembled fried calamari. The taco was served on a flour tortilla that was covered with lettuce, tomatoes, and heaps of crema fresca and guacamole. The sauces were what made the taco look extra large. It looked impressive, but I thought the amount was overkill and overshadowed the protein. I sampled the carne asada fries which had a mound of white cheese melted on top. The meat was okay, however it was quite greasy on the bottom of the serving vessel. The menu prices have likely increased since the pandemic. Most of the main items were at least five USD which was still good but not the bargain that it used to be. The service from the waitress was okay, but we had to flag her down a few times since she was covering multiple big groups simultaneously. I thought our dining experience at Titos was at a three-star level.

The meat! The meat! The best steak my wife and I have had I'm recent memory! She had the Bite de Lomo. I had the arrechera. We both couldn't have been happier with our choice. We're already talking about making a trip down from San Diego to have dinner here!
