Both the drop-off/measuring and pick-up were efficient. The alterations cost $125, which seems on par with other places I have been before. They prefer Zelle but were willing to accept credit card. I was not in a hurry. He scheduled my pick-up for just over 3 weeks from the consultation, and it was completed as scheduled. I thought I was coming in for a consultation, and I liked the fabrics and patterns we came up with, but he was disappointed that I was not ready to throw down $4,000 for the custom suit that day. (He convinced me that anything cheaper in his shop wasn't worth my time.) I can see why he likes to close the deal the day of. The more I thought about it, the less comfortable I felt throwing down than much for this suit... I had a few other reasons, too. Anyway, I sent a message to the store the next day, politely explaining why that I appreciated Jerry's time, but the shop wasn't for me. Jerry ended up calling me, and I wish I hadn't answered. He started trying to get me to get his cheaper stuff that had already talked me out of. He was pushy, dismissive of my reasons and all around unpleasant. I think they have some off the-rack suits available, too, and I believe they offer tailoring, but I am no longer interested. He'll probably respond to this and be dismissive again, but those are my two cents. He has a nice assistant. I won't pretend it's bad quality. Still three stars.

When I spoke with the owner, he handled the situation with genuine care and professionalism. He listened, was proactive about trying to fix the issue, and clearly wanted to make things right. While the final result still wasn't exactly what I had envisioned, he provided a full refund for the tailoring and was very thoughtful and apologetic. That level of accountability and customer care is rare these days, and it's the reason I'll continue bringing my business to Metropolitan Cleaners.
