I'd probably go for the plain matcha next time to actually get a better sense of the matcha itself, or ask them to tone down the sweetness/flavor. One thing I did appreciate is that the staff were really nice and offered to make adjustments if I wasn't happy with the drink. The shop is small and cute with essentials only. The latte portion actually tasted ok after I grabbed a straw so that I could drink it without the foam, but the foam and toppings just really threw the drink off. Your price of admission gets you either a drink or French macaron. I went with my kids and we tried each others and all were delicious. The cat cafe itself is easy to reserve and pay ahead. It is very organized. When you get there the cat cafe is clean and there are many places to sit and the cats are spread out. The only thing I'd improve on is to give some of the cats the special collars (like they have at other cat cafe's) to let us know if the cats aren't friendly. There were 2 cats in particular that were kind of scary trying to pick fights and scratch both other cats and humans. Also my best tip is to wear disposable socks you are cool with throwing away since you have to take off your shoes and your socks get all cat hair and dirty.

Martin Diedrich is the original founder of Diedrich Coffee, which was sold to Starbucks in 2006, and opening the Tustin location marked a return to the exact site of his very first full-scale Diedrich Coffee coffeehouse. So when you come to Kean, you are coming to a special place that is tied to the history of coffee in The O.C. Needless to say the coffee is roasted in-house and is excellent. I always buy an oatmilk latte here, and the coffee taste is deep and aromatic. Definitely one of the best in Orange County for the pure quality of its coffee. For Orange County, the location has a nice community vibe. Eclectic mix of tables, but there aren't always enough of them, so it always seems packed. Staff are always extremely nice. Appreciating the history, great coffee, and community feel is one thing, but you should know in advance that they do not offer wifi here. That is my only complaint and the only reason this gets a 5 and not a 4 star. I suppose if they want to maintain a certain vibe they don't want people working there, but I would be happy even with a one-hour time limit on wifi usage.
