Such a good restaurant! Everything here is consistently delicious. We always get the potatoes with the amazing smoked aioli, always get the seasonal vegetable, and always a couple tostadas to share. You can't go wrong with any of them. Other dishes I love: the salmon, the lamb, the mushroom pasta, they used to have a salmon sandwich, and the duck. Tonight, I got the beet quinoa salad with salmon as an added protein and it was delicious and fresh. Servers tonight were also very kind and knowledgeable. Tips: - bring a jacket because most of the seating is patio. The heating lamps work well, but if you're not close to one, you could get chilled. - probably best to avoid the bathroom. It's at the back of the restaurant and just never seems worth it. - parking can be tricky but with a couple circles of the block, you should be fine! - sangria is nothing special. We came back! Feels like it's a family owned business, which is a vibe I didn't get last time. The service was fantastic! We revisited the Gambas, the Baked Brie and the bread pudding. Still as delicious as the first time! Though I would order the gambas with the chili on the side, because there were a couple times that those bites were a little too spicy (but I don't do spicy) and we tried the lamb tagine which was delicious!! It was a tomato based sauce with the lamb moist and tender and the couscous was a delicious vessel. The sauce on the side was a tad spicy so we left that off. I chose RG for my birthday lunch because it offered selections that are not every day dishes everywhere else. It was our first time in and we started with the house red sangria which was nicely spiced and the baked Brie. A pleasant surprise was that there was adequate toast for the brie. I then ordered the smoked potatoes, my honey the duck leg confit and my friend opted for the chilaquiles. I also tried a radish tostada which was different and refreshing. They have multiple tostadas from which you can choose. Everything was delicious but the duck won our table's highest score. Service was good. It wasn't particularly busy on the afternoon of 6/29 but was steady enough that the one server kept busy. I agree with all the reviews that state you feel like you are in a lovely oasis and NOT in the heart of Touristwood. It's all true! But most important to me is dessert. Obviously Birthday dessert is of great importance and Running Goose had my back. I ordered the Pavlova because when do you get that chance? It was delicious and light and hit the spot. I took the horchata crème brûlée home and enjoyed the horchata out of it! Different and delicious. So we'd definitely go back. read more

The streets surrounding the Pantages aren't known for their food, but you take what you can get lest you starve to death before your show is over. Running Goose was a random gamble, but they had so many good reviews. The Game Lettuce Salad was a good. A tangy vinaigrette dressing, very fresh lettuce and summer fruit. The Baked Brie is a bit bland, but you can rarely go wrong with a hot, gooey cheese. The Duck Confit is good, very tender, plenty of flavor. I also enjoyed the carrot puree, roasted sweet potato, and stalks of broccolini. I wasn't wowed, but I was quite content. You can definitely do worse on Hollywood Blvd. read more

Cute place, friendly service, good food. Enjoyed the organic herb garden outdoor sitting. They served both brunch and dinner menu during lunch time, which gave us lots of choices! Girlfriends got kale salad with add on Shrimp and salmon. I took the server suggestion and tried the duck confit; which was their specialty. The duck came out blackened but was very tender, the duck skin was crispy. A bit different from other restaurants' dish but was very delicious!! Pitcher of sangria was $28 and can only served with 5 glasses Max. It was a bit blend and the pitcher was filled with ice without any fruits. We started with the baked brie. It was lovely. Petitas, jam and garlic on the top with crusting. The salmon belly was crisp, with an amazing relish and kale on brioche. The salad needed some acidity and they brought same balsamic and it was great. The risotto and salmon was delicious (and I got the skin, yippee). The good: I was able to make same day reservations online. I was seated right away when I got there even though I was running 15 minutes late. Service was very quick and attentive. The food also came out quickly. The servers were friendly. They have a big outdoor dining area and a smaller indoor dining area. I tried the $4 arugula tostada, duck confit hash (yam, red bell pepper, pickled okra, sunny side egg, arugula, maple vinaigrette), salmon belly sandwich and salt cod churros. I thought the churros was the most whimsical and creative dish. It was an appetizer and was definitely salty. I had the option to add a side of fries to my sandwich so I did. Otherwise, the sandwich comes alone. The sandwich had chicano rub, sunflower aioli, kale, kimchi, tomatillos, jalapeno, cilantro in a brioche bun. The bad: Though the sandwich boasts ingredients with a lot of powerful flavors, it didn't taste as punchy or spicy/zesty. I had to pay $20 to park in a lot nearby. Parking is difficult to find around this area as it is pretty busy and metropolitan. The churros were too salty and the texture is mushy since it is fish pressed into a churro shape. The side of fries to my sandwich cost $6 and were just ok. The arugula tostada was good but wasn't too special. The interesting: Overall, I think this place was a 3.5 stars. The prices were fair, the ingredients are fresh and interesting and the enclosed outdoor patio space was nice. read more

We've been reading the reviews, finally got a chance to stop here for Sunday brunch. What a terrific find! The food is delicious, made with care and attention. Sat in the little courtyard in the back, so charming. I ordered the mushroom cheese melt and my husband ordered the chiliquilles. Everything was fresh and flavorful. My mushroom melt was loaded with perfectly cooked wild mushrooms, loaded with fresh melted cheese, grilled onions and kale, served on toasted ciabatta bread. The side of fries were some of the best I've ever eaten! Fresh cut potatoes cooked to perfection! Brown and crispy on the outside, but a little softness on the inside. My husband got the chiliquilles with short rib: perfectly cooked over easy egg on top with a nice amount of meat. Definitely had enough for leftovers home. The coffee was delicious. We got two of the tostadas just to try for appetizers: the corn one was lovely, I wouldn't order the carrot again. Honestly, I wish I would have just saved the space for my meal. Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying new things on the menu. What a gem. Great place for a nice romantic date. Easy atmosphere, it's nice to find a spot that serves gourmet food without feeling pretentious. I hope Running Goose stays around for a long time. My wife and I had a very delicious brunch here! It was just two blocks away from the immersive van gogh exhibit, so a perfect place for a post show brunch. We shared the Salt Cod Churros as a starter, then the Dirty Eggs and the Salmon Belly Sandwich. The churros were disappointing, more batter than fish. I was expecting more like a fish fritter. However, the Dirty Eggs and the Salmon sandwich were delicious. Both had a little zing to them, and I wasn't sure if the kale was pickled or marinated in something special. In either case, both were incredibly good. The Dirty Eggs had smoked pancetta that was more like pulled pork. We don't go to Hollywood much, unless it's to see a show, but I would definitely come back to the Running Goose. Make sure to make reservations. The place is small and busy. read more

What a lovely surprise find in the middle of Hollywood's most touristy area!! I'm writing this review so others know that they can find delicious healthful food in the area. I went recently for a meal before an event at the Pantages. Just amazing.. the menu sounded to good to be true. We enjoyed the short ribs (hearty, flavorful and so so filling), a lovely roasted chicken that is really too much for one person, the most perfectly balanced duck confit meal with roasted sweet potatoes and broccoli rabe and a delicious lamb tagine. The youngster among us ordered an irresistible burger (her words) and couldn't even finish it. We were a large party and lacked for nothing. We had a great experience here. Due to unforeseen circumstance we had to find a restaurant at 8:00 pm on Saturday night for 10 people to dine. I called and they said they could accommodate us (even though they were closing at 9:30). We walked in to a cozy and friendly atmosphere with impeccable service. They were attentive, quick to take care of us, and service is why I give them 5 stars!!! As for the food, the burger is gigantic, along with the chicken, and steak. I got the Fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and it was also a nice portion and very creamy! We also got appetizers and my favorite was the baked Brie! This was my favorite- perfectly toasted bread with warm flavorful delicious Brie- I could've eaten the whole thing myself as a main course! I visited the Running Goose each time I went to the Hollywood Pantages. It is about an 8 minute (very easy) walk up Hollywood blvd. I went on a Wednesday and Friday evenings. Do make reservations as it fills up rather quickly. On the most recent visit there was only one waitress working for a little while before another arrived. Everything we've had we have enjoyed, but my favorite has been the Gambas. Very tangy, with delicious shrimp and soft bread. I would visit here again. read more

The range of small tostadas that you can order to compliment a drink, salads that are chosen very carefully, and main dishes that remind choices in fine dining without fine dining price. Menu is not large, but will please anyone! They have a selection of small tostadas, on the crispy tortilla, that are absolutely delicious! They are four dollars each. Absolutely delicious snack that you cannot find anywhere else! A great selection of nonalcoholic drinks also something that is very welcomed these days! The server (owner) was super polite, helpful, and fast with the service. Items to try include: Roasted Potatoes (Appetizer) Carrot-ginger Soup (Appetizer) Shrimp Cocktail (Appetizer) Lamb Shank (Entree) The desserts looked delicious but we were pressed for time so we couldn't satisfy our sweet tooth either! All the food shown above plus 2 glass of cabernet ran us about $95. Plus tip we had an excellent dinner for $110. Great night out and I'd recommend it again in a heartbeat. Came here on a lively Friday evening. Parking was a challenge but eventually found some. To drink, we shared a bottle of Pinot Noir, was pretty tasty. To eat, I had the lamb chops and when I tell you they were the smallest things I've ever seen in my life, I mean that literally. But they were tasty. Tried the pork belly and that was heavenly, would definitely get that next time. Also small portion. These meats were both from the first course, pricey. But thankfully we weren't too hungry. The owner/host was very firm in telling us we had to order in the next few minutes or we wouldn't eat, which was definitely stressful after spending an hour in traffic, but that's the LA life. A wonderful experience from the ease of arrival at 5:30pm with valet parking in the lot attached to the restaurant to the warmness of the host's welcoming greeting and the attention of our server. Great interior feeling as we walked through to the patio where a birthday party table of maybe ten was at one end and our table for two at the other end of the perhaps 40-foot-long patio providing a secluded tree-ensconced romantic feel that we enjoyed. The food chosen began with a couple of appetizers: One warmed yummy dish with garlic and tomatoes and the next with brie melted cheese and jelly each accompanied with sliced toasted baggett. Our main dish was a salmon filet on long mushroom-topped risotto with exterior cooked skin to a charred burn that we peeled off to reveal the medium-cooked filet. Our server explained the chef cooks it this way so I thought I would try it as suggested and enjoyed the flakey exterior to the little translucency in the middle. We are not desert eaters although tempting we were off to enjoy the Pantages show for a 7:30pm curtain. I definitely recommend for a lovely dinner prior to the show. read more
