Had a great meal there this evening with terrific service. After a crappy day trying to find the right (and open) beach (due e.coli concerns), starving, we pulled in to the Russian River Pub. Brought our dog on to the patio. Two of us ordered the BBQ special - chicken and ribs. Both meats fell of the bone like buttah. Another had the famous burger and was silent while enjoying. The coup d'etat was the bread pudding which rendered the four of us speechless. Will definitely be stopping by every time we're up the river and can heartily recommend. My husband and a couple of friends stopped by Russian River Pub after a hike in Armstrong Redwoods for a beer and a snack. We sat on the patio and ordered an appetizer sampler and one other item. The food was okay, nothing spectacular. It was your average bar food. We all had a beer, two of us ordered one more round. The bill came out to $75...I double checked the bill because I was sure they must have charged us for something by mistake. Nope, just pricey bar food. Overall our experience was okay but it was overpriced. I'd come here for a beer in the future but maybe not food. read more

It is a bar and it has food. It has amazingly good food, but what makes it a great bar is the people. Please disregard the uncomfortable stares as you enter or you might leave without giving it a chance. Instructions for enjoyment are as follows 1) Sit down order a beer or cocktail 2) check out the chalk board food specials 3) place your order 4) enjoy the music selections on the jukebox 5) get up walk around and take in the many trinkets (stuff) on display 6) meet nice and interesting people 7) eat and savor the food. you are on your on from here. I went here with my friend on our visit to wine country because it was featured on the pilot of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. There was a great local feel to the place and the food was amazing. The onion rings were the best I have ever had and the buffalo wings were juicy and delicious. I had the pulled pork sandwich which was really good too. Definitely will come back! read more

The boyfriend and I came here on our way from SF to Mendocino because he saw it on triple D. It's certainly dive-y and a locals joint, with writing all over the walls and a billiards table in the middle of the dining area. That's not a complaint though. I had a beef sandwich served with their French dip jus and a side of curly fries. I was perfectly pleased with the food, though it's nothing to really rave about. The boyfriend had 10 wings (when he asked how big they were, we were given the impression there would be *A LOT* more meat on them than there actually was) and some onion rings. Really good onion rings! On the whole, service was okay, food was pretty good, and we left happy we'd tried it but not willing to go out of our way for it again. read more

Our experience was similar to others in terms of being seated and then being ignored while other came in, sat down, got menus and drinks and still no one had come to our table. We finally got water (never got the drinks we ordered) and ordered burgers. The food was okay but hardly worth the long wait for service. read more

Stopped in to have a bite before arriving in the Russian River area. I wasn't sure what to expect, having seen it on Diner's Drive-Ins and Dives. I would say it is in the Dive category. We arrived right after one o'clock and the grill stopped serving the advertised Crab cake benedict. I instead ordered Coconut prawns and a side salad. I had a small child with me and was worried she would not be allowed inside to dine since it was a bar area. Instead they greeted me and also offered a toy box for us to browse through by a very welcoming server who took her time to explain the menu to us. We also ordered chili cheese fries. The salad was excellent with field greens and balsamic vinegarette. I did not expect this in a pub. The coconut shrimp was tasty and 5 pieces were plenty for me since we also ordered the chili cheese fries which were a huge portion and even two of us could not finish them. I loved the atmosphere of the inside of the building looking like a log cabin and very rustic. It is signed by all visitors that come in throughout the interior. I would definitely come back on my annual visit to the area. My only complaint was the floor was carpeted and seemed very dirty. read more

Nice Burger Joint and Pub in the Forestville Area. The burgers are cooked to perfection and juicy. They have a decent Juke box, pool table and some Televisions. Mostly a local hangout place with few tourists. We have tried the Famous Pub burger, Prime Rib Sandwich and Cajun Sausage. Didn't like the Sausage and tasted like Louisiana Links from Costco. We got lost and ended up driving past this place. We were hesitant because it calls itself a pub, and I wanted breakfast, not typical pub food. They should call themselves an awesome restaurant that happens to contain a pub. It was really chill and the food was great. I had a half order of biscuits and gravy, two eggs over easy, bacon and sausage patties. The biscuits and gravy were the best i've had in years and everything else was cooked and seasoned perfectly(In my opinion). My wife had one of the eggs benedict dishes and really liked it. I'd really like to replace my go to breakfast place in San Francisco with this place. I've been wanting to go back for more since we ate there, but it's so far away. read more

This is a pub, so we came here for dinner because it was the opening night of football and wanted to be able to watch the game. We ordered an appetizer called "Pub Styx", which was mozzarella cheese inside a breadstick and deep fried. SOOOO good! I had the Prime Rib "Special", ordered it rare.....but it came as a, closer to medium, medium rare. My fiance got a BLT, which is hard to mess up. The service was weird, as our waitress seemed to be the only waitress for the entire restaurant, while other waitresses were kind of standing around not doing much. We flagged down one of those waitresses twice for a refill on Iced tea and 'To-Go' Boxes. It's a pub, so it was as expected. read more

I totally dig this place. It looks like a dive but the food is really good quality. We went Monday evening after an afternoon at the River and the waitress was super friendly and accomodating when we wanted to do two separate checks for the same table. I ordered the Pub hamburger and changed out American cheese for Blue cheese and added avocado with bacon. The burger was cooked perfectly and the fries were actually really good. Food came out in a timely manner and sitting on the patio under the twinkling Fairy lights was so pleasant. Super casual and great for families... they even have a free juke box (cuz its kinda broken ;) read more

My 8 year old said "mommy you definitely need to give them 5 stars," and I totally agree. The perfect ending to a long day on the river. The open-face chili cheeseburger was awesome and I hands down say "best onion rings I've ever had." Perfectly crispy and salty with a tender onion in the middle. My son's BLT was traditional and full of lots of the B. They have Damnation on tap (ok it's not Pliney but good enough!). The wait staff is great. And our kids got their first lesson in pool on their 50 cents pool table. The only thing I would change? I would try their buffalo wings next time. They looked amazing! Best wings around! I have been coming to this place since I was a kid, and they use the same recipe as they did when the original owner was there. I have a regular family dinner here every month or two and they never disappoint. It's down home, greasy spoon, but lately have been adding some more gourmet items to their menu. Yesterday we took our yearly trip down the Russian River. Always a great time and cap off the day with a visit to the Russian River Pub like we do every year. The food as always was great! Their ribs are the best on Norcal hands down. I only had one small problem. The meai I had came with some incredible waffle fries. The waitress asked if I wanted some ranch with them, Of course I did! My wife also ordered the same exact thing. The bill came and we were charged for two extra sides of ranch. I know this is petty and I didn't even mention it to the waitress but it always rubs me wrong. Especially when they ask if I want it. Sauced does the same thing and I finally stopped going there just because it bothers me so much. OK done venting. Looking forward to next years visit or anytime I am up that way I will surely drop in. Don't forget the ribs are amazing!!! read more

Came on Sat July 6th and got very good service and a fantastic meal. The tri tip sandwich was hot, flavorful and juicy,loved the horseradish sauce. We also had 10 buffalo wings and the rib special, lots of leftovers. The absolute highlight was the jalapeño cornbread that came with the special. Def worth a return visit read more

Ordered the Killer Prime Rib sandwich. It was TENDER and quite flavorful. The mushroom/onion sauté, and melted jack cheese on a roll with a perfect soft interior to absorb the juices, was the perfect bite. The onion rings were full of flavor and perfectly crunchy. My partner ordered the wings with sauce on the side, as recommended by other reviewers. The wings had the perfect crunch, and the hot sauce had a hint of sweetness that complimented the heat from the spice. Coming from upstate New York, he's a gastronome when it comes to wings. He also ordered the waffle fries, as the regular fries apparently were meh, as reported by other diners. All of the other food...ribs next time...looked mouth watering. The restaurant was quite busy on this warm Saturday evening. The friendly wait staff had it together. The food here is good enough to make the 44 mile trip from our house to the restaurant as the purpose for our trip. 5 YUMs! read more
