Thank you Yelp! Someone had made a comment that this place needs a huge sign. I couldn't agree more! This place is a honey hole! Honestly the only thing that would have made this place perfect would have been a nice view while eating. The service was great! The gentleman that served us was the same man who caught our crabs that morning and I believe also owns the place! Everyone there was so friendly and the atmosphere almost feels like you're just hanging out at your friends place. There is seating inside as well as outside. We ordered a dozen medium crabs, a crab cake ceasar salad, and Jimmy's crab balls. The crabs came out pretty quick, instead of medium they gave us large, but were charged for medium size. The crab cake salad took quite a while but that's because I preferred mine broiled over fried. And by God, it was worth the wait. With the cake being almost the size of my salad. Oh my gosh it was so good!! We also got Jimmy's crab balls which are mini crab cakes, which also equals deliciousness. When we were done with our meal we were surprised by a little plate of 3 muffins made by the gentleman's mother. Compliments to the Baker, I had a pumpkin muffin with a few chocolate chips in bottom yummmmmm and corn bread with a glaze of honey underneath. I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. The people-- amazing! The food-- phenomenal. The service-- out of this world. The location-- unfortunately hidden and it needs a huge neon sign out front! We felt welcomed and at home immediately. Kristie was the kind of person that you don't forget. She was so attentive, caring, kind, funny, provided great service, and made our dining experience one of the best I've ever had. Okay and now the food. The amazing, delicious, hot, fresh, speedy. We had dinner inside and went to the counter. Kristie gave us the remote for the TV and let us turn on whatever show we wanted (we were the only people there at the time) and brought us the best sweet tea we have ever had. With only one sip, my boyfriend said "that's it. This is our place." The tea was THAT good. We must have had 6 glasses each. We got an order of French fries and hush puppies. I loved the crinkled fries and the hush puppies were phenomenal and came with a cup of honey. Who knew it would pair so well. We ordered a dozen and a half large crabs and they were the meatiest, hearty, juicy, freshest, seasoned perfectly, and looked bigger than other places "large" sized crabs. I had crabs the other day at a different place and ordered the super jumbo and they were the same size and they were not as meaty as Rusty Jimmie's large size. It is quality! The crabs were seasoned just right. I never like to eat crabs without butter and prefer to pick them and eat after three or four crabs, but I couldn't wait. I ate as I picked them and didn't even use butter for every bite. That is unheard of for me. They were that tender and juicy and flavorful. Seriously. Kristie saw my pile and offered to make me a crab cake out of my meat. I was grateful for her offer, but chose to eat it as it was. I've never had that kind of service and hospitality. They have this sweet bread and she gave us some slices of banana chocolate chip cake bread. We could barely take another bite, but we had to make an exception because of the smell and the decadent taste. The bathroom is so clean and taken care of. The entire restaurant is spotless! Also they have very reasonable prices. It is such an amazing place and fantastic experience all the way around. I can't wait to go back. I hope everyone makes their way to Rusty Jimmie's. It is a Mom and pop shop that is worth every moment. My boyfriend and I joked we were going to call her Aunt Kristie because of how kind and attentive she was. The weather and company were great! Service was slow and spotty. Fried flounder was tasty. Others didn't care much for their food. Took forever tog rt our beverages. Soft shell crabs were good! Teo of us were done eating until our French fries finally arrived! Had to ask three times for tartar sauce. Fish tacos needed more cole slaw on them. Overall if you do takeout from here might be good but dining in service I give it a thumbs down. Quickest service of waitress was bringing us our bill and to go boxes. Awesome! A hidden gem. We ordered 3 bushels of crabs for a crab feast and they were heavy and delish. They came with all the old bay and butter we needed too. This is the absolute best family style restaurant in DelMarVa!! OMG!! The owner catches and molts his own softshell crabs and they are prepared better than any place I have ever been. The crab cake platter...I trusted the suggestion of Chris the owner and got one fried and one broiled...were only lump crab and soooo delicious. Awesome that you can BYOB. So Disappointed, all you can eat crabs was an hour to wait between servings. He never gave us our side orders. The service was terrible and he hit us for almost full price. Our server was very helpful in spite of being the only person working that night. On the downside... the restaurant didn't have many of the items listed on the menu. My boyfriend and I came here for dinner while on vacation at Fenwick Island. We came on a summer Saturday evening and it was full, but no one was waiting for a table. The wait staff was not prepared for the volume of people, and many tables were waiting 20 minutes to get their drink order in. Luckily, we got there just before the dinner rush. However, once the dinner rush came in, we were forgotten until we were done with our meals and waiting for the check. We ordered one of their specials - 1 lb of snow crab legs with two sides. We got coleslaw x 2, hush puppies, and corn bread. The snow crab legs were small and dry. The coleslaw was good - a tasty deli style. The hush puppies were overcooked, and the corn bread had no corn taste. We also ordered a pound of jumbo shrimp which I was not impressed with. Half of them were dry but the size was decent. The prices here are reasonable, but I would recommend finding a better seafood place if you want tasty seafood. read more

I feel cheated. I bought steamed shrimp and a dozen crab. We called ahead and paid for jumbo crabs, which their menu lists as 6.5-7". Every crab we got was 5", medium. I feel like they sold out of jumbo crab and gave us the leftovers. It's also sad how overcooked both the shrimp and crab were. The shrimp was tough and shrunken in its soggy shell. The crab legs were like jerky, but the meat in the body was ok. Soft shell crab sandwich and hush puppies were good. I'm terribly disappointed. read more

We were looking for some seafood while on vacation, on a Monday no less when other places are closed, and we found this GEM. Amazing food, amazing service (thank you Joss for recommending the soft shell crab) even loved the BYOB so we could bring in what we wanted and not overpay for booze. I found this place on Yelp. Although it seemed to have mixed reviews we thought why not. Wow, what a great experience. We ordered a dozen large crabs. The seasoning was perfect and they were so fresh. (they were caught earlier in the day) When we we finished our crabs we were still craving more. This was a disappointing trip to Fenwick for crabs. We ordered XL crabs and they definitely looked much smaller. Hardly any meat or weight to them. And they seemed a bit "old" like they were reheated. Pretty much everything we ordered for our sides they didn't have. No soup, no corn on the cob etc. . Then we had to wait 30 mins or more for the sides to come out after we got the crabs...I'm talking fries and hush puppies. The plus: the staff was very friendly. Would I come back? Probably not. Good news was we didn't have to wait despite a very small dining area. Service was below average. Our waitress didn't have much personality and it took quite a bit of time to get both our 1/2 lb of shrimp appetizer and our meals. The crab soup came out over 4 minutes after our other items were served. We also had to grab our own roll of paper towels from the main counter. Seemed like they were understaffed or the kitchen was too small. Aside from the shrimp appetizer which was very good, everything else was no more than OK. Fried shrimp, hush puppies, cole slaw, and fries were average. Salmon Caesar salad was overdressed. Both the scallops and crab soup were bland. Ultimately we hoped to find a hidden gem, but we ended up with a forgettable $100 meal for a family of 3.5 . Terrible terrible terrible. No employee was wearing a mask, I don't know if they have to in Delaware but Im assuming masks are required. We ordered 2 dozen large crabs to be picked up at 4 when they open for 60 a dozen. When they opened at 405 I was told it would be 20 minutes for them to be cooked and that two dozen was 190. She fixes her "mistake" and after 130 dollars we were finally out the door at 435. The person there at 430 was also told to wait 20 minutes for her order to be cooked. The crabs themselves were small and EMPTY. Most of them (probably 18) were grey and mushy and the mustard had turned green. I don't know if they were overcooked or dead already or what but definitely the worst crabs Ive ever had. You get much better quality crabs from the ayce places. I would buy seafood from 7-11 before coming back. read more

Took the wife, kids, and sister in law here for dinner on Father's Day. Picnic tables outside and lots of seating inside. Made a reservation for 7:30, they brought out a big sheet of paper and laid it on the table. The guy took our order and we waited. They were pretty busy and apparent short staffed? I honestly couldn't tell everything seemed fine. The waiter accidentally brought me the "captains feast" which I did not order, but I started eating because the "sampler" is similar. Which I feel bad about not noticing. But they still charged me for the cheaper "sampler". Simple hole in the wall type place and it was awesome. The food was amazing.
