Supremely aggressive "Cole" passed my in my residential street in Taos this morning. Speed limit is 25, I was driving 30. Our Chevy van lost the belt tensioner at 8:00 pm on Friday night. We were in Santa Fe for only three night and four days... with a ton of things we wanted to do... While setting up our Motorhome camp site I broke the pull tab off of the awning... after it had started to unroll. I am 76 and don't do ladders anymore... and I for sure no longer go on the roof of our RV. I had called a mobile awning repair in Glen Rose, Texas the prior week... and they never even called me back. But now I had an issue that was not just and inconvenience... I could not drive the Motorhome. The park gave my Cody Burrows' name and I called him. I texted my information and two photos of the awning. He arrived right on time at 8:00am the next day. He could have ripped me off so easily. He is a retired Marine... his truck was spotless... his attitude warm, friendly, assuring, and Professional. He hopped up my Motorhome ladder... laid down across the roof hanging over the awning... unjammed the locking mechanism and hand rolled up the awning. Came down and told me I was good to go. Never once suggested I needed to stick around and let him fix it for a huge fee. I asked him how much I owed him... $20. I could not believe it. 2022 and I have found an honest mobile mechanic that is a super nice guy. Our trip could have been ruined by a non-ethical repairman. Recently, when I was traveling in Taos, NM to deal with a family matter, my brakes went out on my van. Fortunately, the owner of the B&B that I was staying at gave me the number for Cole (Rusty Wrench Mobile Mechanic). Cole came out the next day, diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and installed it a few days later when it came in. Unfortunately, the brakes continued to have issues and after multiple tries over 3 days to fix the problem, Cole determined that it really needed to be serviced at the Honda dealership in Santa Fe where they had the special equipment needed to diagnose the more specific problem. Although Cole wasn't able to fix the brakes issue, I truly appreciated how he went above and beyond to try and find a solution! He didn't want to give up and he was determined to do all that he could. And throughout it all, he was kind, friendly, and understanding, which meant a lot to me as I was going through a difficult family matter. Cole provided fast, friendly and excellent service when we called due to an antifreeze leak in our Ford F350 diesel. He promptly found the part, drove from Taos to Santa Fe to pick it up, then drove it all the way to Angel Fire to replace our leaking heater hose in the dark. We were back on the road about 75 minutes later. Cole checked on us later that night and the next day to ensure all was well with the truck. His price was very reasonable too.
