Honestly disappointed in this place. Stopped in from Vegas to Phoenix because of good Yelp reviews. We waited 30 minutes for food that was way below average (even for diner food). They scrimped on all the good stuff. Hardly any roast beef on my sandwich, mostly cheesy onions with a couple mushroom slices, and a very small handful of French fries...fries is what diners are suppose to be all about! My husbands chicken fried steak was undercooked. I didn't think it was possible to mess up chicken fried steak! We won't be coming back but I'd give five stars for the friendly staff! read more

OK place to stop on the way. I grabbed a half Cobb salad with honey vinaigrette and my husband got the honey mustard chicken sandwich with fries. His chicken was almost too dry to eat. I went here for breakfast when I pulled into Kingman after at 18 hour drive to get here, the food came quickly and it was cooked perfect. The service was very helpful and kind and they got everything in our order, correct. I highly recommend this place for anybody. Looking for a great breakfast. Worth driving through town. Not that far off the interstate. Basic diner/coffee shop food. I had a chicken fried steak and it was good. As it was at night I was drinking black coffee and the young waitress offered me a go cup for the road, no extra charge. Very kind. I would guess she was high school age, and I love supporting business that give young folks a chance to work. read more

I come here again. But, It was said that salmon was on the menu . but it was not the same as last time. Also, I wanted to eat and I was looking forward to it. Horrible food and service by one individual. I don't know where to start. The person who initially waited on my table was very nice and thoughtful. Another person who I told the men's bathroom was out of soap. Simply replied, "ok," and went about doing nothing. He was not polite nor seemed to care. After waiting about 15 minutes, I brought it to the attention of my waiter, who did respond. There was a soap container now in the restroom, but the pump didn't work. Ok, my omelet came, and I don't know what it was, but it looked nasty, like I have never seen. Eggs were burnt, and I don't know if the mushrooms (and other veggies) were old, but they were nasty, more like a spread, and it looked old. It was supposed to have jalapenos, but the cook forgot, and the nice waiter apologised and brought a small cup of cold jalapenos. Potatoes were small. burnt and greasy. I took two bites, and it didn't taste good. Paid for the food and left. The young (rude with an attitude) clean shaven male saw that I didn't eat the food but paid for it as he rang me up. He would just stand there and crack his knuckles as I paid, not (he) saying a word. Ha! Be careful of trying to intimidate the wrong person. Anyway, I left the food on the table and left. Wow ... if this my business I'd be firing the cook, and one waiter/assistant, but it's not and will never eat here again. read more

Really don't know what the hype is about this place. It's your typical diner food... sadly nothing too special. The steak was over cooked... I was warned by the server but how does your chef not know how to cook steak? I wanted medium rare I mean shoot.. would if I asked for rare... the excuse was the steak is thin. That's not my problem. Great if you eat there in the morning, not sure about the afternoon. Great service in the morning evenings no good one waiter waited 20 minutes for a cup of water ordered our food. She was too busy on her phone and chitchatting. I almost went up to the top counter and grab my meal sitting in at heat lamp. What a great find!  Rutherford's is clean, cute, a great value, and not too kitschy with too much Route 66 nostalgia stuff. Lucky for me the diner by my motel, which had posted opening of 7:00, decided to open at 8:00 and I was hungry! Classic American Diner, breakfast lunch, dinner, and really good food!  Not fine restaurant good, but the best diner food. They have a choice of Mexican breakfasts, skillet breakfasts, omelettes, pancakes, etc. Full lunch and dinner menu too, will have to come back later in the day next time. Had the Santa Fe Skillet (excellent value at $8.95), "over medium" eggs were perfect, plenty of everything. Also got a side of sausage - really nice, not your typical cheapo sausage links, but plump, thick sausages with a skin that snapped and great flavor. Marina was awesome, running the front SOLO, welcoming people coming in the door, cleaning tables, chatting up the locals, delivering meals... she was hustling... AND pleasant... AND attentive... I don't know how she does it but she was the bomb. We'll be back.  What a gem on Route 66. read more

Went in for breakfast, ordered the biscuit n gravy. First biscuit was great, second was horribly stale and the bread wasn't a biscuit. After dissecting the second bread it looked like the bottom part of a burger bun. First and last time going there. read more

When we saw the restaurant, we knew we were in for an adventure! Old diner on Route 66 has not seen many changes since it opened, I'm sure! Dinner last night was big, juicy, cheesy, bacony burgers with beer battered onion rings.... absolutely delicious! Then they actually had pie! Not just any pie... my favorite rhubarb/strawberry with a huge scoop of quality vanilla ice cream! The crust was flaky and tender. Perfect bite! It was so good last night, we came back for breakfast! Again, we were not disappointed! I heard about their killer omelettes but when offered home baked biscuits topped with sausage gravy AND eggs AND hash browns ... for $4.99?! Decision made! We are waddling out and putting this on our list of regular stops when passing through Kingman! read more

We had such an amazing breakfast on our way to the Grand Canyon! Our server, Danny, was great. Super knowledgeable and attentive. The menu had a ton of yummy options and we all enjoyed our meals (highlights were breakfast chili relleno, the "healthy omelet" with egg whites and delicious veggies, and the kid Mickey pancake w/ sausage and bacon). Also, I gave a gluten allergy - they were knowledgeable and careful. There was even GF bread for toast. I did not expect this and was pleasantly surprised. read more

What a great diner. Many veterans work and eat there. Have a lot of patriotic decoration. The other people that I was with had the meat lovers omelette and I had the wellington Benedict. I had never had this before but I loved it. The meat was tender and the mushrooms and onions were great. Fresh cut hash browns so good. Never ending coffee. If ever there again will stop again. Sorry but we're not impressed probably the worst food I've eaten. I feel like I ate out of a box. The salad is good and the mashed potatoes look like they made it. The problem is everything is bland and lacking flavor. Hubby had twin fork , I had the shrimp dinner and mom had fish and chips. Everything is not good. I wished it's better but it's not. read more

This place came up as "Mexican" food here on Yelp. My bad I didn't read the menu. It was just nearby and we had been driving for 19 hours. I'll cut to the chase. It's clean. The staff was friendly. The food was HORRIBLE! The steak was not edible. RAW IN THE MIDDLE AND NOT TO BE CHEWED BY A HUMAN. My pasta Alfredo was cold. That was because our waitress never brought it. Nice little local place on Route 66. I've been here a few times with a friend and they're good but not stellar. The burger I had on one trip was good, better than a fast food place, but nothing to write home about. The clam chowder I had on another trip wasn't the best. It was really bland. The staff isn't particularly friendly but they're polite and attentive which is really all I ask for given the whole pandemic thing being stressful for small businesses like this one. read more

Busy place! We were acknowledged as soon as we walked in and were told about the available booths. We picked and sat down, server came over and took our drink orders, when she returned she told us she had 2 tables in front of us, which was fine. She came back in a reasonable amount of time and took our orders. We both got the breakfast tacos and they were yummy. This place is filled with charm and history! You can just imagine it when Route 66 was strong and the diner was at it's glory. I'm wondering if the upholstery is original? It's definitely seen better days, obviously it's the food that we come for, putting the decor aside, let's eat... be prepared for a wait on a busy Saturday morning. The breakfast was sub par... specifically the home fries... they tasted burnt and greasy. I ordered my eggs over medium and they were super runny, the ham steak was huge and tasty. I think restaurants overall these days are challenged with finding any help and I appreciate that someone was working hard in that kitchen... hopefully it will get better. read more

This is my favorite place in Kingman so far. It's like a country diner and the food is great. Seating is good, you're not sitting right inside the front door like at a few of the other Kingman restaurants have you. I like the way their tables are set up, it is nice.
