We spent a total of 40 minutes in the restaurant and it resulted in an ongoing argument with the General Manager. We'd ordered the three course meal when we sat down and one cocktail each. By the time the soups were placed, I wasn't feeling well and excused myself to the bathroom. Embarrassingly enough, I fainted. I woke up to a woman asking me if I was ok followed by a female manager checking on me. I told them that I was ok, but that I just wanted to see my husband and leave. I came out of the bathroom to security, the general manager and my husband. I declined the ambulance. I've never fainted before and I was already feeling extremely overwhelmed with all of the attention. The GM offered for me to sit outside for some air, but I told him I didn't want to leave my husband so he had us wait at the table. I didn't touch my soup, but noticed the table was cleared when I got back. I thought the GM was handling our bill and clearing it outside of the soups that were served to our table, but he was instead rushing the rest of our food to be taken to go. I don't go to this type of restaurant to pay full price for a to-go order. In fact, I left to go receive medical help and we did not eat the food. My husband had to get up twice to ask what was going on, but the managers never returned to my table. They were too focused on making sure we were still going to pay. We paid the bill to avoid confrontation so I could just get out of there and take care of myself. When I called the restaurant, the General Manager offered me an appetizer, but said I was served the food and they were owed the money. There was absolutely no chance they would reverse the charge. The conversation progressed to the point of the GM yelling at me. He told me I caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to their bathroom and couldn't believe I would ask for a refund. I don't recall the last time *anyone* spoke to me the way this man yelled at me. It was that aggressive. I can't believe someone can say out loud that my fall was bad enough to cause damage to the hard tiled bathroom, but that the fall wasn't important enough to forget the food and the money and to instead help get me out as soon as possible. There are so many restaurants in Baltimore. This location prioritizes the money over customers. If you see this review, I strongly urge you to support smaller restaurants in the area. Only giving two stars instead of one because past experiences have been good but this time really sucked. We decided to mix things up and go out for Thanksgiving dinner. Our server was not very skilled to start with but adding a holiday rush crumbled him. He had no support staff and we didn't see a manager one time while dining. Experience here this evening was pretty decent. I enjoyed the lettuce wedge (huge), the lamb chops, mashed potatoes, tilted pineapple martini and the creme brûlée. Chris was our server....he was very attentive and soft-spoken and personable, which I appreciated. On mother's day we had a 5:15 pm reservation as we had a show to attend to by 730. We arrived 10 mins early & were told that we would be seated shortly as they were preparing our table. We were not seated until 6:40 pm & then told the kitchen was on an 1.5 hour wait for food. We were only seated after speaking to the front desk staff several times. The staff was very very rude. Menu says hand stuffed blue cheese olives in Martini, that's a no, it's some jarred stuff like at the grocery store and tastes like it too. I read the reviews about the restaurant not meeting people's expectations, especially during Valentine's Day. I still went with my boyfriend because it we wanted to spend the day at a high end steak restaurant. 1. The server took a long time getting our order. I asked for a refill on my drink when I finally got my food, but he never came back to my table until I was done with my food, when we had to ask again (he apologized because he forgot). Any server could've come by our table since it was just a refill, but there was none. 2. My steak was rare. I asked for a medium rare. I usually wouldn't care, but if this is a restaurant that takes pride in their steak and charges 80 dollars for a filet, getting the temperature right should be a given. 3. I didn't finish my food, so I asked for a box. A lady put my appetizer in a box for me, but she grabbed the plate in a way that her thumb touched my appetizer. I don't know whether her hands were sanitary or not, but regardless the way she carelessly grabbed my plate and stuck her thumb in the brussel sprouts really made uncomfortable. I never usually leave bad reviews, but if this is the service I get from any restaurant I go to, I would be very disappointed. The server apologized many times, and he was still very kind (which is why I gave 2 stars not 1). I do feel bad for how the servers are a lot busier since it is Valentine's day. As far as dining experiences go, this was quite stellar. I had the pleasure of dining in one of the private rooms on a slow visit and was waited on by a gentleman by the name of Ryan (i believe). He was welcoming, informed and affable. He walked through the menu and options with ease and brought a rare wave of congeniality and professionalism that is really missing in the food service industry. The meal was stellar. Accompaniments and libations were generous. the mood was very top notch in comparison to many others in the local area. I cant comment on the parking or valet services as I visited in mid afternoon so parking wasnt an issue for me. But i trust, given the location, one may want to plan to pay for parking and perhaps walk by the ships to the restaurant itself. For some very strange reason, my best friend wanted us to take our husbands here for her husband's birthday during Baltimore Restaurant Week. I'm not a big fan of chains, and this visit again proved to me why we tend to go to small businesses. Focusing on the positive, let's start with the drinks, our appetizer and the server. All were stellar....the average drink price is roughly $14 bucks a pop, but the old fashioned and the cucumber cup that I had were totally stellar! The appetizer that had $4 bucks off for restaurant week was more of the reputation of the *butter* that I have always heard sets Ruth Chris apart from all the others....the salad was also very good. It was great and we truly enjoyed that. Tierra our server was amazing! She was funny, upbeat and really on her toes and we tipped her appropriately. Speaking for us, that is where it ends. Maybe during restaurant week the food changes, I'm not really sure, however I had heard all these amazing things from friends about the food, in particular the steak at Ruth Chris. Given the prices on the menu, I have my expectations. Restaurant week to me while it might be busy is certainly a time I feel that you want to prove yourself so customers will come back and dine off the regular menu. I might find my way back to a happy hour there, but then I just might go find the ingredients for the drinks and make it myself. The rest of the menu can be easily duplicated. Ok, so on to what didn't work. I'm a amateur chef and really *can* cook. I make a pretty bad ass steak myself, just from the supermarket. I had always heard about this steak being in this glistening of butter. I looked for it, didn't see it anywhere on the plate....I thought maybe my steak sucked it in while sitting, however there was not even a hint of butter. To be honest, I'm not sure my piece of beef had even relaxed a few minutes after being cooked. The steak itself was tender as I would expect a tenderloin to be, but that's where it ended. It was truly lackluster. We ordered a side of shoestring fries because I had seen some come out while we were waiting to be seated. What I saw looked like these crispy sensations, beautifully browned and you could totally tell they were crisp because they were practically standing at attention looking like a haystack in the funnel container they were served in, begging to be eaten. What we got when I ordered these were basically some oil soaked strands of white starch! Definitely not even close to what I saw pass by us and certainly not what I was expecting. There was no crunch, simply this big blob, especially at the bottom. These were $10 bucks normally. Perspective here....it's a potato, definitely not expensive, however at that price, I am expecting a little more than food starch. This really didn't deliver what I was expecting, especially since I saw some perfectly made ones just an hour before! I ordered a fruit bowl for dessert that was suppose to have had cream on it....no cream. A simple bowl of fruit of berries I had purchased during my visit to the supermarket earlier in the day. I could have made 10 for the price we paid and there is NO cream on it(?)....simply a sprig of mint. For such a pricy restaurant, I was expecting a little more of a business casual dress and a quieter atmosphere. Dress ranged from people coming in jeans to what I considered streetwalker dress. I actually was shocked that someone within the reviews had been called about the dress code as our gentleman friend called us to find out what the code was. Maybe the people dining last evening should have had a call, because I frankly was shocked at what the word *dress code* seems to mean here. In our case, THANKFULLY(!) we were seated in a room that people seemed to be dressed more conservatively and where you could at least hear yourself think. I am always so amazed that these expensive *steakhouses* (been to Flemings and Morton's as well) seem to be so very LOUD! Certainly not what I was expecting, however maybe it's just the city clientele , who knows? I should also note that I expect better timing with our dishes....that said, we were barely close to finishing our appetizers when the steaks showed. I still had several bites of salad left on my plate. Timing should be expected in a place of this price point. This was quite a shocker. We agreed to go because my friend wanted to go. Not sure if her expectations were met, but ours were definitely not. I might go to a happy hour for the wonderful drinks, but I would probably wander to another restaurant in the area....better yet for us, a visit to my local butcher will solve it. Our share of the *experience* for the evening was $179 before the tip........I can buy a number of steaks for that. Pandemic must have ruined this place. Went from one of the best steak houses in the area to the worst. We came here about 3 years ago and it was excellent. Now....Horrible service! Management should be fired asap. A great restaurant will make everyone feel comfortable regardless of their background. Our waitress, C----- wasn't trained in how to talk to customers or something. She never asked us how our food was. I had to send others to track her down a couple of times. She was also very condescending trying to make excuses for why our lobster bisque tasted terrible. I don't care what the base is, it's disgusting (it really doesn't taste great). If a customer doesn't like something, take it back without discussion. At the end she rushed us out (8:30), offering to wrap up our dessert to go?? WTF? Am I at Denny's? As far as the food, they were out of New York strips. So I got the ribeye. Seemed smaller than 12oz but was ok. The Lyonnaise potatoes, however, were burnt and so salty I couldn't eat it. I asked for mashed potatoes instead and they were out (shocker) . This place was not much better than Cheesecake factory with 4X the price tag. Super loud bar crowd, definitely didn't make it seem like a $100+/person place. Stick to Morton's or S&W. We had a really great experience with our family, celebrating Christmas Eve. The food, atmosphere, and service were excellent. We plan to visit again next Christmas Eve. Literally, the only thing I would change is the size of the tables. Our table would've been ideal for two people, but very little space for plates and glasses for four people. It just made it a little less comfortable trying to maneuver around. The service and food far outweighed our rating for the size of the table. We can't wait to go back! While the steak was delicious, the location is dangerous. I went for our 33rd wedding anniversary along with our daughter and 5 yr old granddaughter. What started as a nicely planned dinner quickly turned into a very dangerous situation. Upon entering the front of the restaurant, I was told by the valet that there was no valet parking available amd I would have to park at a nearby garage. As I was dropping my wife, daughter ajd granddaughter off at the front door, we were shocked when a man (dark in color) approached us and began racially threatening us because we were white, even went as far as to say he would kill us amd all white people. My family was horrified, and rightly so What made the experience more frustrating was that no one from restaurant management, the security out front of the restaurant ( off duty BCPD) offered any assistance. Fortunately for us, I decided to carry my firearm before we ventured into the city. While the restaurant is a bit dated, the steak was delicious, and my only complaint woth the food is the portion size, as they do not cover more then 2 people. Baltimore is simply not safe!!! I'll never visit this location again. What a great experience starting with the hostess as we entered the restaurant! Made us feel incredibly important and welcomed. We told the manager how great she was. Service was fantastic and the food was superb. We both had steaks and they were on point. We did order medium but if we had to do it again we'd go medium rare since the plate it's served in is so hot the steak continues to cook. The service at this Ruth's Chris is wonderful from the time you arrive. I chose to valet park for $10. If you don't have cash, you can add it to your bill. Since there is patio seating currently, it was very sunny. The hostess were so kind to bring an umbrella to our table so we could enjoy some shade. On this day the drink special was a Tilted Pineapple Martini, it's made with vodka. BEST COCKTAIL! It was so sweet and refreshing. For an appetizer, we ordered the spicy shrimp. It's not very spicy but it is very yummy! I frequent Ruth's and stick to the same entree which is the Ruth's classic Filet&Shrimp. The filet&shrimp classic comes with a starter, entree, personal side and dessert for only $50!! I love their Caesar salad for a starter and creamed spinach as a side. On Saturday, August 14 I dined at the Pier 5 Baltimore location. Gio was my server. He was extremely lacking. When he came to the table he failed to give us the specials for the day he failed to tell us any of the special items they may have as far as drinks. When I asked for the wine list he kept reiterating that the list was by the bottle and not by the glass as though I could not buy a whole bottle of wine. I was offended and felt belittled. He failed to properly clear out dirty dishes off the table upon completion of a meal when we ordered dessert which was bananas Foster it was just slapped on the table and he walked away. Our experience at the Inner Harbor location was fantastic! The food was amazing and the service was exceptional!! Our waitress Jillian was very knowledgeable about the menu and super attentive throughout the entire experience even as other guests arrived. All the wait staff we encountered from the hostess up to the managers were very engaging. The food: the Spicy Salmon with Crispy Shrimp was just heavenly!!! My steak was exceptional too and cooked perfectly. Haven't been here in a few years, and was looking forward to a steak drenched in sizzling butter. My wife and I ordered the porterhouse for 2, salads, creamed spinach, and potatoes au gratin. We ordered the steak medium and it was served close to well done (very little pink and not very tender). The manager did try to make it right and my wife received a perfectly cooked 6oz filet instead. Glass had something green on it. Server struggled to accommodate my intolerances. Also, it often took a long time for us to get served whether for the server to come check in on us or even for our drinks, appetizers and food to come. We had reservations for 7pm and did not eat our foos until about 8:30pm. Steak was not as good as I remember it at another location. Staff that delivered food didn't know who's food belonged to who. When my steak came out, it had butter on it after I requested no butter. Sorbet was freezer burned. Not many vegetarian options as well for folks who want steak yet they have friends who can't have steak. I will not be returning if I can avoid it nor will I recommend it to anyone especially due to the price we paid for lack luster service and experience. read more

I wanted to celebrate with my girlfriend and decided to make reservations for Thursday night. The restaurant actually called to confirm the reservation a couple days before and to remind us of the dress code and let us know about the valet parking. The day of the dinner, we drove to the restaurant and dropped off the car with the valey. The valet parking was very convenient and the attendant was friendly and prompt. The hostess was very pleasant and quickly seated us. We were given a nice corner table and settled in quite nicely. The atmosphere at Ruth's Chris is classy but allows for intimacy. Our server was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the food and the wine. We ordered the house salad and the barbecue shrimp to start. For the entree we had the 6 ounce petit filet with lobster tail and the 16 ounce ribeye. Our sides included the loaded baked potato and brussel sprouts. We paired the meat with red wine that the server recommended. The food was very delicious! The barbecue shrimp was a recommendation by the server and turned out quite tasty. The steaks were cooked precisely to the temperature we wanted. The sides were generous and plentiful. The wine went quite well with our entrees. We decided to forego dessert (though the bananas foster looked quite tempting) as we were full. Very satisfying meal. Overall, truly a fine establishment and one worthy of a return visit. read more

1 STAR review My girlfriend and I were out last night celebrating Valentine's Day at Ruth's Chris and for my first time coming to the restaurant it was a big disappointment. We were seated promptly upon our arrival. But once we were seated that's where the problems started. Our initial server did not come up to introduce himself for at least 5-10 mins but before he came up another server " Josh " noticed that we had been siting for along time without having water on the table or bread. We thought that this guy was going to be on top of service but that wasn't the case at all. After taking our drink order and asking for bread again Josh went over the menu and explained that there was a limited menu for Valentine's Day weekend. We placed our dinner order and ordered a appetizer as well. While we were waiting for bread still the appetizer came out first followed shortly by bread which had a few small pieces in the serving. We asked for a second portion of bread but it never came. Our meals finally came out and the portions were great. Which is the only reason why this got any stars. My only issue with the actual dinner part was that my filet was under cooked. I didn't mention it because at this point I was over dealing with this server who never showed up. After we had stopped eating and were waiting for a server which was about 30 mins a manager came over and asked how we were doing. We explained that we just wanted the bill and boxes and wanted to leave. The manager apologized and insisted on buying us desert. He came back with menus and gave us a gift certificate that was for $25.00 but only good until March 2020. After we had told the manager what deserts we wanted our server who had been missing came over to " check on us" and see if we wanted dessert. ‍‍‍‍. We told him that the manager had already handled that. Our deserts were great! But again we waited and waited for someone to bring us the bill which turned out to be another 15 mins. But it took me getting up to go speak to a manager for him to finally reappear with our check. We paid promptly and on the way out I handed back the $25 gift certificate to the manager that gave it to us. We will not be returning to this place for a second chance. For the price of the food you expect better service. I understand that it was Valentines weekend but this server was more attentive to a larger group and possibly other tables in other rooms. I visited this restaurant on March 5th really cute on the inside,my friend and I were seated in this private dining room,I enjoyed the privacy. Our server was really nice but I could tell he was a bit overwhelmed,I'm not sure if the restaurant was short staffed but it seemed like it, it took a while for us to order our food. We ordered the stuffed chicken mashed potatoes and lobster mac,i also order oysters and a lemon drop. I can't complain about the food,everything was good. My only complaint is how long it took for everything to come,we were literally just sitting around waiting for the next course and we waited so long for the drinks,again I do think our server was overwhelmed maybe management could have stepped in to help. read more

Me and my boyfriend came here for our anniversary and it was a good time. There is not any parking so you have to park at Pier 5, across the street, or get valet. We parked across the street and walked over to the Ruth's Chris. There is a dress code to get in. You cannot wear jeans or leggings or the like. We walked in and we were seated right away! They put roses on the table since it was our anniversary which was very sweet of them. We got a bottle of wine and the service was really good. They kept coming over to fill up my glass. When we order the food doesn't take too long to get to the table. The steak, potatoes, and the Caesar salad were soo good. The creamed spinach was not good and we had to send it back. They were nice to allow us to get another side. We got the corn but we didn't enjoy that either. Overall, the experience was great since we don't get to go out very often! read more

Well, I waited 13 years to come here and I could probably go another 13 with never coming back. I am so disappointed and pissed that I wasted $200 for a dinner that was horrible. I ordered the filet medium well and I came out rare. Sent it back and not even 5 min later it came back out. I cut into it and again, rare in the middle. I ended up cutting it up and letting the plate cook my steak. Now why I'm the hell should I have to cook my own steak if I'm being charged $45 for it? I shouldn't for such a "fancy" place. For a filet, It should be tender and like butter and it was tough and horrible. We ordered a side of broccoli to share. I asked that it be cooked with garlic and butter just like they cook the broccolini. They said no problem. Without asking the waitress brought out a small side of broccolini and said they just did it this way for you and still charged me $10 for it and we weren't even able to share it because there were only 4 stalks of it on the plate. I wouldn't have ordered it had I known that was going to happen. $12 for a small vodka and pineapple juice? Really? When the waitress brought the check, she decided to tell us that she was sorry about the problem with my steak but it was busy and maybe we should come back during the week when it is less busy so it's done right ..... what!! Excuse me, but the fact that you were busy should have no relevance to my food being done right. You're a busy restaurant and that is normal so how can you tell me that ?! This was the worst anniversary dinner ever. I will NEVERgo back and I will relay this to friends that live in the area. My local steak house supersedes this joke of a restaurant 200% + Update- reading the reviews I find it funny how the "manager" will comment on the good reviews but do nothing to help those who wasted their hard earned money and a horrid experience. My favorite restaurant! Whether it's in California or here in Baltimore, MD. After long day, walking a mile here for dinner was worth it. My first time in Baltimore, MD so I didn't really know what was good, so I stuck to what I know. The restaurant was located in a very nice area. ... by the waters ;) A good ribeye and some calamari paired with good wine was what I wanted and Ruth Chris got what I wanted. Been to this location a few times and probably one of the only places in the city I have no problem with them valeting my vehicle. Parking is tough over that way and the prices are really affordable if you're dining in at Ruth's Chris. The staff and service is pretty great normally, and we have been a few times during their special Thanksgiving Dinner. Over the years I have seen the place become more and more crowded for this holiday meal, but what I will say is the price is still the same as it was when I first moved to Baltimore. I think that's awesome, and clearly more people are hearing about it as an option. The steak, turkey and cocktails I have had at Ruth's Chris are great but what really makes this place stand out are it's sides and starters...wow. The creamed spinach, potatoes, vegetables, soups, everything I could go on and on. My last trip was actually for Thanksgiving and the Seafood Gumbo was absolutely delicious and very flavorful. read more

The lobster bisque was delicious. The steaks were done perfectly, the potatoes were very good. The mojitos wee delicious. The air didn't seem to be working and it was a little hot in the restaurant. read more
