Finally at 63 years old, I got the chance to try out the Ruth's Chris steakhouse. Everything was good no complaints at all. They're just a little pricey and everything is à la carte. If my wallet was bigger, I would probably visit more frequently but unfortunately it isn't. Hopefully I'll be able to go there again I just need to save for it., but if you have the cash, it's a good place for a great steak! read more

After our West OC Water Sports tour we were driving on Route 50 to return to Delaware for lunch when we noticed the sign for this restaurant. I quickly exited Route 50 and drove back to this restaurant. I have been to other Ruth's Chris Steak Houses in other states, when I always enjoyed my meals especially steaks, but not this location. The restaurant is located in the GlenRiddle Golf clubhouse building that houses the golf club, store and restaurant operation. The building was formerly the main stable building of the famous Riddle Farm which produced such famous racehorses as Man O' War, War Admiral, and Sea Biscuit. The horses bred and raised at the Riddle Farm are credited with changing the history of American horse racing. What was previously a sport enjoyed and admired only by the rich and privileged became one that was supported and embraced by the masses. I parked along the tree lined parking lot. We did not have a reservation, but my family of four were immediately seated at a nice table in the rear dining room with lots of glass windows overlooking the golf course. I started with and enjoyed my two gamblers old fashioneds for $16 each or $32 total. We shared and enjoyed our medium rare 40 ounce USDA prime porterhouse steak for $125, which was properly cooked. We also shared and enjoyed the pan-roasted cremini mushrooms with fresh thyme for $15 and the grilled asparagus with hollandaise sauce for $14. Dulce R. served us very well including sharing a book with pics and the history of the Riddle Farm before our steaks arrived. My total bill was $377 excluding gratuity. We got in around 12pm for my friends birthday and on our way back to New York. The ambiance was pretty quiet (possibly because it was early) the food was yummy (the lobster Mac and cheese needed a little salt but other wise pretty good) and the service was awesome! Let me start off by saying,"the service was impeccable!". The food was expensive (ex. 2 pieces of stuffed chicken breast, one piece of small drumstick was missing. I'm surprised I have not previously reviewed and after our "less than" dinner experience that did not meet prior visits expectations, I was coming in to provide an update. Unfortunately, this review will be solely based on our visit on 10-17. We had reservations, though this evening wasn't needed, but you never know, so I always make them to be safe. We also have always had a preferred waiter; however he was not working that night. This location is our #1 preference of the many Ruth's we have been to over 30+ years of patronage to the brand. We have always had impeccable service here in the 14 years we've exclusively dined at this location and lucked out over the years finding 2 great servers and request their table only. When we arrived, the hostesses greeted us warmly and as we were escorted to our table she acknowledged my birthday. That was nice, but that's where it ends of niceness. We were taken to probably THE WORST table in the entire space. The multiple dining rooms were not busy, so why she sat someone who is celebrating a special occasion in a relatively empty space in a less desirable location by the waiter station in the main walkway, I'll never know. And yes,we could have said something, but I should NOT have to in this type of establishment. It was also training night, not that it affected how we felt, but not sure if that affected our service points as maybe our waiter, Andrew felt more distracted having a shadow, not sure. Service was less than a Ruth's standard, we weren't even asked after trying our dinner if everything was prepared correctly. Felt drink refilling for our coke and tea were not acknowledged well enough., Water glass service was great, filled without asking. As far as our food, let me start with the best part. For a couple years, back around 2018 or 2019, something changed with my favorite side, the sweet potato casserole. It had lost it's flavor. I even inquired with our waiter after 2nd dinner noticing the difference and he asked the chef and said nothing changed. I beg to differ as 3 different occasions it was not the same. This was also around same time when they removed the awesome onion ring tower and Lyonnaise potato's. So with reluctance, I ordered my dish, as I was avoiding going back because I was SO disappointed. You also need to understand my emotional connection since this dish was competition for my moms casserole. Mom isn't here anymore, so this dish just brings me joy when its made well!! OMG, it's BACK and fixed and perfect, I was in heaven!! Happy birthday to me! The next best was the desserts, chocolate sin cake (dense, full of flavor and RICH) and the creme brulee (light, vanilla perfection and delicious). Excellent flavors and nice presentation. So, for the less than good things... For the entire evening, the waiter NEVER acknowledged my birthday or didn't ask if we were celebrating anything special. I ordered the Petite Filet (my fault I forgot I wanted blue cheese encrusted) medium rare and despite that, my steak came out more rare than medium rare. Luckily we are SO experienced at Ruth's with the 500° plates, that I know, slice and flip the meat to further cook myself as I'm eating. That works perfectly as I'd much rather be rare than over done and spoil the perfectly delicious steak. The steak was tender and just heavenly despite being under-cooked. My husband ordered the crab cakes which were terrible - mushy, not much flavor with lots of filler and little crab. Next, I have to mention the restrooms. Ladies room was ok, but needed some attention. However, the men's room was a disgrace as my husband reported. He said they had a toilet/plumbing issue that made him afraid to flush or stand close as he didn't want his shoes damaged. Despite the less than satisfactory visit, we will return because we felt this, hopefully, was a unique faux pa's. But, I'll try to find put what night our favorite waiter is on duty and stick with what we know because he MAKES any evening dining there special, where its just a regular dinner or a celebratory meal. read more

Our Anniversary is usually celebrated at Ruth's Chris Steak House. Our normal location is the one located in Richmond, Va. However this year we were celebrating our 10 year anniversary in Maryland. We were excited to find out the Berlin location was only 7mins from where we were staying. Unfortunately, we were not satisfied. We were actually quite disappointed. Pretty much everything was flavorless and premade. If you know and are familiar with the flavorful, great quality, and price normally delivered at Ruth's Chris, you would understand our disappointment. On our reservation we requested to be seated in a more secluded/ private area (we get the anniversary room in Richmond, Va), however the rude host took us to a middle table surrounded by other parties. When I mentioned the request we made on our reservation she then moved us right beside the kitchen. She was not pleasant from the time we entered until the time we left. Our servers were good, that was the only positive thing I can say about this location. We had poor service from the host, terrible seating, the food was disappointing, and to top it all off we paid more than what we normally pay at Ruth's Chris. Celebrated New Year's Eve and my birthday at RC in Berlin, Maryland. Perfect from start to finish. There were four of us, served by Serena and Antonio. We started with bread and red wine.....followed by salads and dinner. We enjoyed the steakhouse salad with remoulade dressing. Never disappoints! We had the garlic crusted sea bass (best I've had ever), two had surf and turf (cooked to perfection) and the last had the 12 ounce filet. We also had the creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. Serena surprised me with a birthday bread pudding and happy birthday written on the plate in chocolate.....excellent way to end the meal. The service was world class, with Serena checking in on everything. Couldn't have been better. I've been to five different locations of Ruth's Chris and have been underwhelmed - especially for the price. Every single time my steak has been overcooked. I enjoy some of their sides and appetizers, and their service is always on-point, but a steakhouse at that price should be able to cook a steak better than the local Outback. read more

I have been to this location 4 times since that first review. Each time the steaks were perfect, the apps were very good, and the service fantastic. It seems a lot more pricey than the DC location and the wine is ridiculously pricey per glass. The service was impeccable but I wouldn't expect anything less when paying $102 for a ribeye steak. I don't know why but I always expect more pricey steaks to be memorable like close your mouth and feel it melt in your mouth goodness but I easily can compare them to a $40. Our first few steaks we had to send back as they were over cooked. I appreciated that we were given fresh sides since we had to wait for our new steaks. We were also given an appetizer while we waited which was a nice shrimp cocktail. Service top notch just would have to be another special occasion for the price point. I thoroughly enjoyed the Eastern Shore ribeye which was the special with a butter old bay rub and the lump crabmeat. I do want to recommend that RUTH a chris improve their take out ware as the bag they put the steak in immediately absorbs all the wonderful suctions and au jus. read more

First, let me say Ruth's Chris is very expensive. Like no entrée goes below 30 dollars. Second, all sides are served family style, so you share. Third, you're going to want to get dressed up, polo and khakis should suffice. Keep those three things in mind. But, you certainly get what you pay for, my waiter was amazing. Incredible, professional service. Not to even mention the food, which is even better then the service. A friend of mine and his family invited me to the beach with his family. It's a tradition of theirs to always visit Ruth's Chris, so I came along. For some reason they were very angry the shoestring fries were removed from the menu. I wouldn't know why since I've never been to a Ruth's Chris before. First, their bread and butter is good, not great. Everyone comes to Ruth's Chris for the steak. We all ordered filets, I ordered the petite filet. I can 100% certainly say this was the best cut of steak and best steak I've ever had. The mashed potatoes were pretty good too. This is a unique location of Ruth's Chris. It's located right next to a golf course in a clubhouse that has a bit of a history - the building has been there since the 1920s when it housed race horses. The inside is unlike any other Ruth's Chris I have been to - it gives more of a country club vibe which I think is interesting. If you're seated near a window, you can see the rolling greens of the golf course which is pretty cool. The food is on par with any other Ruth's Chris location. Last night I had a Caesar salad, petite filet, lobster tail, mashed potatoes, and creme brûlée to top it all off. I went with my go to drink at RC - their blueberry mojito. It was made perfectly. Service was solid from both female bartenders as well as the various people who ran food to the bar. Like other RC locations, they deshell your lobster tail upon delivery. Great service is one of the hallmarks of RC and this location definitely delivers on that. A bit of a drive from the beaches, but totally worth it. One slight negative: since they're a franchise location they don't run the same specials (Ruth's Classics, Surf and Turf, etc.). Don't let that stop you from coming, it's truly a great experience! read more

We celebrated my fiance's birthday last night at Ruth's Chris. What an absolutely perfect experience! We enjoy fine dining and Ruth's Chris, particularly this location, always delivers! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. It is warm and cozy and a great place to relax and enjoy a delicious meal. The service was exceptional.....everyone we came into contact with wished my fiance a happy birthday and there was even a card waiting on our table that was signed by the staff...so thoughtful! Our server, Nick, was a delight! He made wonderful suggestions, timed our courses perfectly and kept our glasses full. We ordered the stuffed mushroom appetizer and it was divine! Huge mushrooms stuffed with with delicious crab meat. We also ordered my favorite, the caesar salad, to share. I dont know what they do to their caesar salad but it is always perfect. For our entrees, I ordered the special which was a filet with a lobster tail and he ordered another special which was a ribeye topped with crab. We ordered garlic mashed potatoes as our side. As per usual, our food was over the top delicious. Everything was prepared perfectly and we loved every bite! The perfect ending to our special evening was the complimentary bread pudding they brought out for my fiance. Although we were completely stuffed, we somehow found room to enjoy with delicious treat. I know it's a chain steakhouse but seriously every single one i've been to I have not been disappointed. Some friends and I spent a long weekend in OC and made this our final dinner of our vacation. Mainly b/c I was persistent about wanting a nice piece of beef (HEHE). So we got here and right away the staff was quick, friendly, and super accommodating. Luckily the food was just as great as the service. On the table, BBQ & regular ribeye, filet mignon, lobster tail, crab cakes, mashed potatoes, fried oysters, asparagus, sweet potato casserole, spinach, cease and mixed salad, and bread pudding. Yes... it was basically thanksgiving in the summertime...LOL! By the end of meal the table was bare and everyone had that happy full look. Safe to say you just might have that look too ;-) read more

To start things off, I want to make it clear that this place is expensive. Most entrees don't go below 30 dollars. Pretty much all food is above 40 dollars, steaks ranging from mid 40s to 80+. But, you get what you pay for. The staff is incredibly personable and welcoming. But the food.. the food is amazing. I chose to order the filet, an 11 ounce incredibly tasting piece of meat. Cooked to perfection. I also chose to get a side of the glazed bacon brussels sprouts, which was really good as well. My dad got the chefs special, a surf and turf type dish featuring steak and lobster. He said it was incredible as well. The one minor problem is that they serve the food on plates that are allegedly 500 degrees in order to keep the food warm throughout the whole meal. I found that they didn't really do that all that well, and were a little more inconvenient than practical, since anything touching it in the beginning was scorching hot. Overpriced! Problem with this location is no competition in the OC area for steak houses I guess. All the steak entree were $20 more per steak than Lewnes in Annapolis which is much better quality. This location of Ruth's Chris is hard to find when going to it with the GPS. It is far back from the road... you have go down a long driveway through some trees and if there wasn't a sign on the road saying that it was back there, we would not have found it so just be careful and know that you have to pay attention to the signs. We came here to celebrate my cousin's 26th birthday and the food was amazing. I have been to a Ruth's Chris before in the Baltimore Harbor and I was never disappointed with the Baltimore location and this one did not disappoint. I got a Caesar Salad and a steak. We came for our daughter's 18th birthday. She said she wanted a really good steak for her birthday dinner. They did give her a free dessert of her choice. That was very nice of them. I want to start by saying that our server was great. This review in no way reflects on his service. The food, however, was incredibly disappointing. It was bland at best. We ordered 2 filets, a ribeye, a burger, and crab cakes, along with a few sides. The au gratin potatoes were the tastiest thing on the table. I get crab cakes almost eveywhere we go. These crab cakes were not good at all. The steaks had no flavor. The burger was mediocre, but sadly tasted better then the steaks and crab cakes. You'll get a much, much tastier meal at Longhorn Steakhouse, (from the sides to the steaks) which is where we almost went. Without tip, our meal was $370. The prices matched a restaurant that we went to in Disney World called The Yachtsman. That restaurant was absolutely phenomenal. I still dream about it, and it is worth every single penny.
