Really solid experience for dinner - we came here on a weekend at night with a reservation, but honestly, there was plenty of space as it's a huge restaurant. Decor felt like your typical mid to upscale American restaurant. Service was solid - there was a slight misunderstanding with the menu's wording for one of the dishes, but the manager was very courteous and patient. We ended up getting treated pretty well even with the confusion. Food tasted great. It's on the pricier side for steak houses in my opinion, but the quality was solid and everything came out in a reasonable amount of time. Haven't been here since Covid times when they used to do lunch. Sadly they no longer do lunch but they do still have the prefix menu for dinner which is a great deal for $60. Appetizer, entree, and dessert. Went here for early dinner birthday right after the holidays and the dining room was pretty empty (us and one other table. A couple more tables came in later). The dining area was still tastefully decorated for holiday which was nice but the seating/booths are showing some wear and tear. Prior to arriving, we noted the birthday and they were ready for us with cute little confetti and a birthday card which was a nice touch! We started with the calamari which was the best dish of the evening. Super crispy and hot with tangy flavor. The steaks were cooked fine but one thing that bothers me is they always ask you to cut into it to make sure it's cooked properly but then all the juices run out. Crab cakes were not great. I liked the crunchy bottom and they came out sizzling but the breading was kinda mushy, grey and flavorless. There was lump crab in it but not tons. The buttery mashed potatoes-great as always and the kids liked the very cheesy lobster Mac & cheese. For dessert we had a chocolate molten lava cake which tasted like it was fresh out of the oven and the kids raspberry sorbet (which was huge) so good! Also, the kids Shirley temple was the best! While looking for a restaurant in the area to dine with a friend, came across an offer for a 3-course menu for $55. I thought that would be a great deal and it turned out to be rightly so! The restaurant is right off the highway with plenty of free parking available. Valet parking is also an option. I made a reservation and mentioned that it was for a birthday celebration and we were greeted with a happy birthday and some confetti was sprinkled on our table. I thought it was a discreet and yet very special greeting. We started with the bread that was absolutely warm and delicious. Our house salad had a fantastic dressing and it was really good. As for the steak, I went for medium with mashed potatoes and perfect! My friend likes her steaks well done and she said it was one the best cooked steaks she had ever had and despite being well done that it was still tender inside. For dessert they provided a small cheesecake that it was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. There are a few separate dining rooms in the restaurant so you never feel crowded. It was a busy night yet service did not offer. We had Shawn checked-in on us and provided overall good service. Besides the ridiculously long wait between courses, one of the six of us, said his baked potato was raw in the middle and his steak not cooked the way he requested. OK, so the only downside to this place is parking, but once inside, the traditional Ruth's Chris quality kicks in. Unlike many steak houses I have visited, this one has draft beer on tap. I started with a Wormtown IPA as I waited for my guest. They have a full bar and a good sized wine menu with a nice list of wine-by-the-glass options. The dining room is large, and I was pleased to be seated at a boot toward the back of the restaurant. The service was great: both attentive but not so annoying you can't have a good business dinner. I was surprised to see how low of ratings this place is. I have the best experience/food when I was here last week. I didn't make a reservation in advance, but when checking in with the host and my bf said it's my bday, the host was so nice and sprinkled birthday decors on my table. Zachary was our server, and he did a fantastic job in explaining the menu, he shows us visually the different size of wine glass. We ordered the steak for 2 combo and red wine to pair with. The rib eyes were a little more pink than medium, but it tasted so juicy and full of flavor. The night ended with a complimentary dessert from the restaurant, and I had to say their cheese cake and chocolate mouse are to do for! The texture and sweetness level are just perfect. I'm glad I was able to experience Ruth's Chris Steakhouse before it was purchased by Darden Restaurants, the parent company behind Olive Garden and many other well known chain restaurants. I sensed it would decline a bit after the purchase but I had no idea it would be worse. My wife and I went there for her birthday and it was very disappointing. The quality of the food and service was nowhere close to what it was before it was sold. The good: easy to get a table/reservation received an extra lobster tail to make up for a wrong order. I received a well done steak when I ordered medium rare. They were very nice about that. However, the new steak was cooked to order but the surface of the steak was grey in color. No sear at all. The bad: food quality. was subpar for the price. I ordered a filet mignon medium rare but received it well done. side items were very small and not tasty service . The server barely came by our table. Water wasn't filled up until we were ready to leave. Also, the table was a mess. Plates weren't cleared in a timely matter. We didn't see anyone use that little comb thing that fancy steakhouses use to clear crumbs from tables. price. Our total bill was $425 for two including the tip. Honestly, we would have had better food and service at Longhorns, another one of the restaurants that the Darden group owns. Sadly, this will be the last time we go to Ruth's Chris. read more

Ruth Chris never disappoints. I don't go often but when I do it is excellent. Bottles of wine going around the table, appetizers to share, the meal, and dessert. The restaurant itself was very nice. Table were not on top of each other which I believe is important. The stuffed mushroom and spicy shrimp - consensus was that they were both amazing. A few had the sea bass and the rest had the filet. Everything was ala carte. There wasn't a choice that was less than amazing. I ordered the sweet potato casserole. It was really good, but not excellent as there was such a strong butter taste it took away from the sweet potato. Same with the filet - if you don't like a strong butter taste, be sure to ask for no butter. My filet came out with a puddle of butter so most tasted like the butter, not a true essence of the meat. There were tons of laughs and good times. It's nice to be out and not talk about work. I am happy to be a part of this team. Lastly, the service was very good. The appetizers are large enough to share or be a side to a steak If you're extra hungry, then you can order sides too. It's your world On each occasion Ruth's Chris nails the perfect medium rare temperature - which in my experience can be challenging, especially in the "fancier" joints. The bread pudding with the Jack Daniel's cream sauce is my MUST have for dessert!! From entry to departure the service is excellent. My only wish is for self parking nearer to the restaurant. This location is in Waltham with accessible parking which makes it a better location than the one in the city. When you walk in you are greeted by the hostess and she is very polite and accommodating and had a smile on her face.The ambiance was beautiful with low lights and a warm feeling. We were seated and water and ice were served, then some really good warm bread with butter came our way . Our server, Denise goes out of her way to make our evening exceptional. We usually opt for the dinner special that includes a delicious prime filet, starter, side and dessert. I still remember the very first Ruth's Chris Steak House I ever visited back in El Paso. Even though it was over 4 years ago, that is one first impression I'll never forget. The steak was seasoned to perfection and heavenly, the lobster mac n' cheese tasted like the stuff that dreams are made of, and the velvet ropes pared when my tastebuds bestowed upon the vibrant morsels of the sizzling blue crab cakes. Trouble is....after sometime, the place dipped a little. And when I say dipped, I mean from like, 5 stars to 4 stars. So, going into the one here in Mass, I wasn't sure what kind of experience we'd have. Fortunately, it was first class living all the way! The service? Superb! The food? Lived up to its inherent legend to when I first experienced the Ruth. Even the décor was elegant. Take a look at my photo. Seriously, I thought I'd have to speak with a smug English accent whilst holding up my pinky thusly as I sip my wine like a boss on Wall Street. Nay! Actually, you don't really need to dress up here, per se. However, they DO make you remove your hat before entering the dining room. Of course there WAS a dude across from us still wearing his beanie, buuuut we don't have to talk about that. Anyway, I'd definitely return here for another special occasion dinner or something like that. See, that's the thing I should have mentioned earlier. But for those who've never been to one of these restaurants before, it's a la carte which basically means a more expensive menu. Oh, but it is SO worth it! Be sure to make a reservation around payday. Close to the highway and easy to find on the first visit, I'd highly recommend this steakhouse to....basically everyone in the New England area. Anytime I am near a Ruth's Chris I have to go. From my first experience years ago to now I have loved everything about it everytime I have gone. The steak coming on a sizzling plate of butter is amazing. The service is always great and the food is mouthwatering. This location didn't disappoint, we got the Tomahawk and it was cooked perfectly. I was celebrating my wife's 40th birthday with about 12 other family members this past Saturday. The food is usually always good but the service was terrible. We had to get up from the table to flag a server down multiple times to get a drink. They weren't line out the door busy and the room seemed to have several servers. I couldn't understand why the service was miserable, they could've up sold the whole time, food and drink. Attended a business dinner last night. Had no real expectation. Very pleasantly suprised! I had a filet mignon that was cooked to perfection (rare as requested) and was incredibly tender. House salad was terrific, all elements very fresh and nicely dressed. Creamed spinach was tasty. A cheese cake tartlet was rich but not overly so. Waitstaff service was extremely cordial and accommodating. Everyone was very polite beginning even with the doorman who greeted us. The manager personally asked each guest during dinner if everything was satisfactory and if there was anything he could do for us. I'm a gourmet cook, but I can't wait on myself to relax. Dining out is arguably about food first, but great food can be ruined by indifferent service. This service was top notch. Management has taken obvious care in training. A very enjoyable evening overall. Would definitely recommend. Ample parking is a bonus as well. Capitol Grille is still my favorite!! The one item that was delicious was the tomato basil soup with crab meat. Bar service was good, nothing outstanding . The caesar salad was something that I could have got at Market basket out of a bag. Both our steaks came out over cooked. I couldn't cut my steak on the plate nor was there room for any of us to add a side. We ate the sides out of plates they were served in. Table next to us had same situation. Very sloppy looking waiter that clearly needed more training and there was one busboy for the whole restaurant. Our table had dirty plates and was messy the whole time we were there. Management was a young girl (very nice) but clearly not management material yet. She agreed that they shouldn't have used that size plate for our meals.
