Three stars for the meats, but the side dishes were a complete disappointment. After an extremely long wait on Mother's Day, our steaks and lamb chops finally arrived piping hot. The lamb chops were a bit tough to cut and chew, but the sirloin and shrimp were grilled to perfection -- tender, flavorful, and honestly one of the best petite sirloins I've ever had. The other sirloin was delicious as well. Unfortunately, the sides were terrible. The lobster mac & cheese lacked cheesy flavor altogether. The lobster on top was dried out like little shrimp nubs, and there was a watery, milky liquid sitting at the bottom of the dish. Just not good. The spinach tasted canned and watered down, with barely any Parmesan or cream flavor. Very disappointing. We also ordered calamari and didn't realize it came drenched in a salsa/chili-type sauce. One would think that different locations of a chain restaurant are virtually alike - not so. The Ruth's Chris in West Palm Beach is far better than most. The restaurant is large, airy and beautifully decorated. The tables are well spaced and everything is comfortable. The service was terrific. Our server Jessica, was a delight - she checked on us several times, but was never hovering. The manager came by a few times as well. The food was quite good - and the kitchen accommodated our special requests. Ruth's Chopped Salad was a familiar delight - crisp and perfectly dressed. The lamb chops were delicious and perfectly cooked. My blue cheese crusted filet was outstanding. Again, perfectly cooked, flavorful and tender. Located across the street from the Kravis Center this is the perfect place to eat before (or after) seeing a show. The ambiance immediately sets the mood for a special experience. This location doesn't have the typical steakhouse decor. It's large, open, with modern decor and ample seating. We were made to feel welcome even though it was our first visit to this location. The staff was cordial, attentive and accommodating with tweaks to the menu. The service was exceptional. We told our server, Jessica, that we were going to a show and our food was ready (and delicious) in a timely manner. The manager even stopped by a several times to make sure that everything was up to our expectations. My wife and I shared the porter house for two (medium rare). It was cooked to perfection! We got a few sides, mushrooms, Au gratin potatoes and mashed potatoes! We did tell the sever we had to catch a show and needed to be out fast. Service was great until the end, we waited for the bill after repeatedly requesting it. We were a little late for our show. Ruth's Chris in West Palm redeemed themselves this visit. We came in for a two birthdays and a couple managers (Michael and Alex) greeted our large party and they made sure everything went smoothly. Ashara was our waitress and she was on top of things. She never forgot about us and her and her team kept making sure we were totally satisfied. We started with warm house bread, a crisp Caesar salad, and the seared Ahi Tuna -- absolutely delicious! For the main course, I had the Garlic-Crusted Sea Bass. While the crust was flavorful and perfectly done, the cut of sea bass itself was a bit too thick for my liking. The medium-rare 6oz steak paired with a lobster tail and a side of perfectly whipped mashed potatoes, however, was spot on. To end the evening, we treated ourselves to their mini cheesecake with fresh berries, the perfect sweet finish. I came here for a rep dinner from my job and WOW!! Service was incredible. We had a Caesar salad for the appetizer and I ordered the filet mignon medium rare for the main course. The meat MELTED in my mouth! So tender and amazingly cooked. It was unique that there was an option to get blue cheese crust atop the steak. I had never seen that elsewhere. This location has several rooms and they each were well appointed. It's a beautiful restaurant. The bad: Meeter/ greeters were clueless. Very nice, pleasant but clueless. This isn't their fault because they were attentive and awake. The blame falls squarely with the general manager of this location--whomever they may be. The ugly: "Do you have house steak sauce?" I ask. "We have A1, bearnaise and Worcestershire sauce. The bearnaise, served with the asparagus spears, clearly came out of a bottle and tasted like a lightly seasoned mayonnaise sauce--thick and blah. Wine list markups were typical of high-end steakhouses, which Ruth's purports to be. So why are they serving third-rate sauces and do not have other homegrown options? It's doubtful I'll be back because while the steak was excellent, there are many other equally good steakhouses nearby that provide the full high-end steakhouse experience. The food was good we ordered additional lobster tails but were a little rubbery and were not cheap. The steaks were good a little smaller than previous Ruth steaks. Great flavor though . Steak presentation is always a little messy on plate. Good salads and were nice to split them. The wait was the problem. At these prices and a name like Ruth Chris I expect perfect service. They did have a helper but he was new . We had to chase our server for everything water forks glasses and the food was warm too I mean warmmmm!!! 700 dollars is not suppose to be warm and take even 39 minutes to pay and 1 hour for main course. Happy hour is supposed to be from 4 until 6 PM with a special happy hour menu. We got there at 5:45 PM and we were told that they would not seat us for 25 minutes, which would be after the happy hour menu was in effect. We placed an order to go because we could not be seated in time and they charged us the full amount for the food and said they would not give us the happy hour discount because the order was to go, even though we were in the restaurant trying to be seated on time. Bad service... We went here to have a couple drinks and appetizers before a show at the Kravis Center next door. We got there about an hour and 15 minutes before the show was to start. We immediately ordered drinks and appetizers. 40 minutes later we realized how late it was and asked the server to just go ahead and make the food to go. She seemed completely baffled that the food was not out. I understand it's not her place to cook and serve the food, but the fact that she did not realize that our food was not out and the people that were sat next to us, 10 minutes after we sat down, had already received and eaten their food. Either she forgot to give it to the kitchen or the kitchen failed to make it. After asking her to have it boxed up to go, about 5 minutes later, it showed up at our table on plates. Just really poor service. I am guessing this a management issue. BTW, the drinks and the food were all great. From the time my husband and I arrived to celebrate our 35th anniversary, our evening at Ruth's Chris Steak House was a memorable experience. Our table was decorated with a card and hearts table scatter to mark the occasion. Danny our server did a fantastic job answering our questions and making suggestions about menu items. We ordered from the Prixe Fixe Special Menu. Both of us ordered Caesar Salad to start. It was a good way to begin our meal. The dressing was especially tasty. For my entree, I asked for a 6 oz. filet, medium rare. It was perfectly done and very tender. The Garlic Mashed Potatoes were creamy and delicious without the garlic overpowering the potatoes. My husband ordered the Filet and Shrimp. He enjoyed every bit of it. The Roasted Brussel Sprouts that I added on to our meal were an excellent addition to our dinner. Danny checked on us throughout our meal and refreshed our drinks and removed plates as needed. For our dessert, we upgraded to the Creme Brulee which was a little crunchy on top and so creamy on the inside. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Bread Pudding. We both had the steak sandwich, which is sliced filet with bernaise sauce, served at the requested temperature. You can expect delicious filets at Ruth's Chris and they did not disappoint us. Ambiance: was so nice, staff were attentive and Jimmy was a great bartender and made sure my drink/ water were never empty.
