I contacted one of their employees, Mark Beckner with a question that no one else could answer, and he helped me out. Thanks Mark!

When I walked in, two employees were standing at the registers talking with each other. Neither acknowledged me, paused their conversation, or even looked up as I entered. I brushed it off at first, assuming they were simply caught up in what they were discussing. I couldn't find the door handle I needed, so I approached one of the employees at the register. He said he would call someone to meet me in the aisle. I returned to the aisle and an older employee walked right past me, made eye contact, and said nothing. When he came back, he looked at me and said only, "Yeah?" in a dismissive tone. I showed him the handle and asked whether it was available or could be ordered. He replied, "It's a special handle, we don't have it," and immediately walked away. The lack of basic courtesy, acknowledgment, or willingness to help was surprising and disheartening. I left feeling unwelcome and judged. I don't like assuming the worst, but the way I was treated -- while wearing a bright pink polo and presenting as an openly gay man -- felt pointed. Whether intentional or not, it was hurtful. Customers deserve respect, professionalism, and at minimum, simple acknowledgment. This experience fell far short of that. Shame on them for allowing this kind of treatment.

NEVER GO TO LOWE'S FOR FLOOR INSTALLATIONS…read more We went through Lowe's to replace our carpet with laminate flooring, and the entire experience has been a nightmare from start to finish. We initially worked with Bradley on the sales side and received several quotes. Everything seemed fine at first. Lowe's sent someone out to do measurements, and the process appeared standard. A contract was written, and we paid in full at the end of March 2026. After that, we waited to hear back about an installation date. Then Lowe's informed us there were issues with labor costs for our stairs that had not been included in the contract. After several weeks, Frank at the Rancho Santa Margarita Lowe's was finally able to resolve that issue. Next, we were told the project was delayed because stair nosing pieces were out of stock and the project could not be released to Keller Interiors. That delay lasted about a month. Once the product finally arrived, we personally went to the store to pick it up ourselves in hopes of speeding things along. When the contractors from Kellers Interiors finally showed up to assess the job, they immediately advised us that the contract did not look correct. They sat for nearly two hours waiting for Keller and Lowe's to sort things out before ultimately telling us they could not begin the installation until the contract was corrected and additional labor costs were paid. At this point, I still have not heard back from anyone. I have now escalated the issue by emailing both the CEOs of Lowe's and Keller Interiors. As I'm writing this, our project still has not started, and all of the flooring materials are sitting in our garage. Now we wait to see how long it takes for anyone to respond -- or whether they even care.

I learned some…read morebasics from my dad (son of a carpenter) who is good at fixing things and is a skilled amateur woodworker. I also like seeing their e-mail specials, coupons and freebies for making purchases. Recently I was contemplating whether "mechanics gloves" would work as full-finger weight training gloves in order to reduce the oils and sweat from my hands during workouts. A couple of years ago I put a lot of time, effort and expense into sanding and repainting my dumbbells with a nice forged pewter color. I would like to do more to preserve that. I tried the Harbor Freight HARDY brand "High-dexterity impact-resistant work gloves" that are a mechanics style with the rubber pads on top. I preferred the lower end thinner ones, but they were not very comfortable. I did notice the run a little small. I have very average-sized hands and normally wear a large (L), but those were tight with these, so I got the x-large (XL) with these Hardy's. The touchscreen compatible sort of kind of worked with the thumb and index finger but was not easy. Maybe the gloves need to be a snug fit? Maybe not? They do appear durable and are nice looking. I did an Internet search, and it appears you "may" be able to machine wash them. If I try that I will place them in firmer laundry zipper bag and wash them on GENTLE cycle in cold water. Then I would place them on a paper towel to air dry indoors. In the end, these were not a good fit for my needs as they were too bulky and thick. I will keep looking and maybe try another brand and smaller profile version of mechanics gloves. The staff here are always polite and efficient.
