Last week we took our annual trip out to Glendale Arizona for the Dodgers' Spring Training and then went down to the south of AZ for my kids to see their grandparents. From there it's a 9 hour drive home. Brutal. What made it worse was that when we arrived at home, I discovered that my water heater of leaking. Being that my water heater, a Bradford White, is nearly 15 years old, I decided it needed to be replaced. It was about 7pm so I went to Home Depot (against warnings from my friends) and purchased a Rheem. I installed it and it immediately began leaking from the hot water nipple. I tried everything but nothing worked. I had to wait until Monday to go to Ferguson and was helped out by Jesse. He was no nonsense and got me in and out within 20 minutes. I had my two year old with me because she was sick and couldn't go to school. I got another Bradford White and of course it works perfectly. Jesse is the kind of employee that all companies need. He clearly knew his stuff. I told him what I need and before I knew it, he had a water heater on a dolly and was waiting for me to tell him which car was mine. I have to give credit to Home Depot though because they worked with Rheem to expedite my return. I am not thankful however, that I had to install a water heater twice. read more

I had two friendly staff members help me at Ferguson Plumbing Supply today, that went way above outstanding customer service. First the store manager, who was assisting me, was supportive in thinking outside the box to solve a broken one of a kind shower holder. The first half of the problem was solved by improvising. When I went to pay I asked Jesse for his recommendation on the second half that was required. I needed to make three adjustments to the part I purchased in order for it to work. I needed a 1/4 turn washing machine valve and my local hardware supply store didn't have it and recommended Fergusons plumbing. I stopped by and one of the service reps was able to find the exact one that I had, that was installed in my home when it was built over 20 years ago, and helped me out with it. I'm a HUGE fan of Ferguson! My contractors and I have always chosen Ferguson for plumbing supplies. Ferguson's products are much higher quality than Home Depot, and the prices are about the same or cheaper. Also carry parts that you can't find at Home Depot. Also significantly better service than Home Depot. Recently, we were in need of a water heater replacement. Called this location and Andrew picked up the phone was SOOOOOO helpful! He talked me through how to turn off the valve on the water heater, how to drain the water heater to stop the leak and even called one of his plumber contacts to help me do the replacement day. Prices are super reasonable and they have Bradford Whites (the best brand of water heaters) in stock. Definitely above and beyond service! Highly recommend! read more

Great customer service! Walked in and was immediately greeted by Jesse Garcia. Was looking for a replacement part for my water heater and could not find the part number needed. Jesse, without hesitation, called the manufacture and got the correct part number for me. Do not trust the inventory. I was told from the store in San Juan Capistrano that they had a part in stock. This location does not answer the phone, we had tried to call ahead to verify but no answer. I made the drive and when I arrived I had unfriendly service and was told by the employee not to trust what I'm told about what is in stock. Not impressed by the service. I have had better experiences in the store in Santa Ana and San Juan Capistrano. Lake forest needs some intervention. read more

This review is for Furgason showroom, Lake Forest counter, and corporate. Worst customer experience ever. We went to showroom, purchasing about $5000 in hardware for our home renovation. Was told merchandise would be delivered on a future date to meet contractor schedule. When the scheduled day came, no delivery. Called showroom and was informed we never made a purchase. WTF??? After a couple hours of scrambling, arguing, and general frustration we sent the showroom our credit card statement. From that they were able to reconstruct our order and get us our merchandise late, causing multiple headaches for our general contractor. Apparently Mike at the showroom took our money, but never placed the order! Here's the funny part: when we first visited the showroom we showed Mike the horrible Ferguson Yelp reviews. His flip response blamed the warehouse and basically assured us that everything had been straightened out. Come to find out from our general contractor that they oftentimes ran into this problem with Mike. Our contractor (very well respected, based on Yelp reviews) has told us they will never recommend Ferguson again, based on this latest series of f-ups. But that's not all!!! Because of the problems with the order we had to scramble to find other hardware elsewhere, so that we could get our renovation back on schedule. So that necessitated a return of some merchandise to the Ferguson Lake Forest counter. More confusion, long wait for them to figure out how to make a simple return, threats of restocking fees, and general foolishness, trying to figure out if they needed to send a check to us or our general contractor. Straightened out in about 45 minutes Fast-forward a month. No check. Called corporate. More confusion. Long wait on phone. Ends up check sent to wrong address. Assured check would be cancelled and new check in mail, I'm assured. So, we get check a couple weeks later. Cool. Deposited in bank. Turns out that check was cancelled! So no check for returned merchandise and a $15 bill from bank! HOW DO THESE GUYS STAY IN BUSINESS??????? read more

Thanks to Ferguson, they totally bailed me out and saved me by having the exact faucet replacement part I desperately needed, even though I was dumb enough to buy a snooty-falooty, WAY overpriced, european-made faucet that has been the bane of the existence of our remodeled kitchen. The manufacturer said the part was on backorder but Ferguson had it, and, I probably shouldn't say this, BUT, I even got the part THE NEXT DAY! Nothing short of an AWESOME company! First of all, I'll say that I'm happy to have discovered a great alternative to Home Depot, Lowe's, and OSH for major plumbing project needs. After my re-pipe contractor recommended Ferguson's, it will be hard for the 'big box' retailers to beat the selection and price of Ferguson's. My main issue was with the delivery that this location set up. I had to come to the physical store to order and pay for a water heater, and had to wait for a bit at the counter before I was helped. The order was processed quickly and delivery set up for early morning on a Monday. I stressed the time sensitivity of this order, as a project was underway that had a very specific window in which items could be delivered to my place -- variation by more than a day could affect whether or not the water heater could be installed at all. Mike, at the counter, assured me that it would be delivered on time, and that he'd notify me if there was any issue. The rest of the story reads like your average delivery window nightmare. You know how it goes: 1. The delivery window comes and goes, and there is no sign of the water heater. 2. I call Ferguson's and speak to Mike. He sounds annoyed that it's only one hour past the delivery window and informs me, "The guys must be busy. But they would have called me if there was an issue. They haven't called, so there must not be an issue." (logic practitioners, hold your fire) He takes my phone number and says he'll call me right back with an update, which never happens. 3. Three hours past the delivery window, my neighbor who had agreed to sign for the delivery has to leave her unit. I send an email to Mike letting him know that the way this delivery has been handled has been unprofessional and frustrating. 4. Four hours past the delivery window I call Ferguson's again. This time I get the manager Abheek, who agrees that it's a highly unusual delay for a scheduled delivery, and takes my number and says he'll call right back. Sweet baby Jesus, he actually DOES call me back and informs me that the delivery somehow wasn't scheduled for today; it is ready for delivery tomorrow. Thankfully I had built a cushion into my time-sensitive delivery and so one day was technically the limit, but still okay. The item was delivered about an hour after the delivery window that day. Were it not for the manager's timely and helpful response, this would have been a disaster and 3 stars would have been generous. As it is, I can still recommend this location, but with some major caveats above. PS I also bought a shower/tub faucet via their online store, which has access to a different inventory than the brick and mortar locations like this one. The set was delivered ahead of time -- but contained a defective part that had to be swapped out! read more

This business in apparently only interested in commercial customers. I brought the pieces from my leaky bathroom faucet spout to them to see if a replacement part might be available. The clerk waiting on me asked what brand the unit was. I did not know and the unit did not have any identifiable markings. The clerk said that they had thousands of parts in the store and he was unwilling and/or unable to look for parts without a brand ID. read more

Said they didn't have the part - didn't know if it existed. Go back to Home Depot & have them order. They said they couldn't. Spent all of 2 minutes with me. I went in for parts to replace my bathroom faucet plumbing on a Wednesday at 1pm. 3 guys behind the counter. Zero customers, so it wasn't exactly busy. Even so, the counter guy wouldn't get up to show me what i needed. After wandering around for 5 minutes, i left. Home depot got me what i needed within minutes.
