I picked a few fancy ones and also picked up hummingbird solution, which really is just melted sugar water with red dye. I also got a few begonias and roses to spice up my front garden. Garden staff is pretty friendly and nice if you're looking for help with loading in your car, you will have to wait as the staff that they call can take up to 10 minutes to get to you. I also noticed that you can pay and purchase small items at customer service. Overall a good hardware store as well. They have a wide selection of paints, carpets, and lumber for sale. One less star as sometimes it is hard to find anyone to ask questions or even help at the carpet section or flooring section. This review is specifically for this Home Depot store (Irvine Blvd). I used to live by a Home Depot where the employees seemed to have the entire store memorized. Beyond this, they themselves were skilled in trades to some level and they always took their job at Home Depot very seriously. Ever since moving to this area, I've definitely felt the shortcomings of this Home Depot's customer service (Irvine Blvd). Of these experiences, I've had to wait long times just to get help on slow days. Rarely do workers know where anything is. And I've had instances where some workers don't even know basic tool names. For example, I came in one day and ask where I can find digital calipers. The worker looked at me and asked what calipers were... Despite all this, I never really felt the need to leave a review as I ended up just figuring things out myself. This day, however, I purchased two higher end plywoods for about $144, to use as a platform for my bed. I measured everything twice to make sure I had it all right. I asked an employee to cut the panels for me and he politely did so. The individual was very cordial and not rude or anything. I only ran into issues once I got home and attempted putting the panels down to ensure they fit before I treated the edges. Not only were the lengths wrong, which interferes with my drawers closing, but they were also crooked. I ended up having to cut the wood panels myself, as best as I could, considering they were crooked and I couldn't depend on simply measuring edges. This was amongst my less unpleasant experiences here, and I can't even get expensive wood cut straight. Compared to where I used to shop at before, it very much feels like there's no pride taken in providing good customer service. Beyond this, most employees just don't seem to have basic applicable skills or attention to detail given the environment they're working in. Not all, but definitely most I've encountered. read more

We went to the store due to the reputation of knowing the store for long time. We set up the consultation for our window covering. They sent a girl here to do our measurement who she said she is a designer. Nooshin, she had terrible Customer Service, rude, no knowledge of the industry, wasted hours of our day, and never responded properly. You let the complete stranger to your home and they do not follow up and the company does not take accountability. I will not recommend any window covering at Home Depot because of this. We never got an answer back. It is not OK that they're ask us to be OK with the fact that complete stranger came to our home, disrespected our time and never responded to us. Another 10 minutes on the phone she came back to say yes we have 3 available. I asked what size and she put me on hold again for 10 minutes and came back to say no that tool is not available. I decided to drive to the store 50 minutes on my way to the job. The tools were available so she lied and that's just a waste of time on the phone. She should just have someone that knows how to search inventory and not lie to customers just to get them off the phone. The experience I had purchasing a refrigerator for one of my offices was enough to make me never purchase anything from Home Depot ever again. It started off by their website not accepting my credit card for an online refrigerator purchase. I had to call to place the order over the phone. The agent on the phone did not understand or speak English well. While my credit card worked over the phone, the gentleman kept referring to my personal HD account information (I guess it was tied to my phone number). I repeatedly explained this was not a purchase for myself, it was for my work and I do not want this on my personal account. I even gave him my business email address. I wasn't even using my HD credit card. He still put the refrigerator on my personal account, changed all of my personal information to my office information, EXCEPT for my email. Instead of getting updates to my business email, I'm receiving notifications to my personal email account. Now, I can't get anyone to change my street address back to my home address on my account! I cant even change it myself online! How can you change an address on my account, but then can't change it back? This makes zero sense. As for delivery, the refrigerator was delivered but the installation was not complete because the installer said he needed to drill a whole in the wall. He left the hose near the refrigerator and just left. No follow up. I had to call HD back to get someone else out there. The installer just called to notify me he was in route to install our laundry system hose. WHAT??? Its for a REFRIGERATOR! The amount of time and stress this purchase has caused me is beyond ridiculous and completely unacceptable. I will NEVER purchase anything from HD and have told everyone I come into contact with to stay clear of HD and go to any other major chain for their purchasing needs. They need to do better and hire people who can communicate clearly and correctly with their customers and their 3rd party delivery drivers and installers. Otherwise, this will continue to happen. They deserve 0 stars. The one star I gave was for the installer who thought he was in route to install a laundry system water line. He called to tell me he was able to complete the job the first installer was not able to do. This guy was the only saving grace. read more

There are so many products at this Home Depot, but even for some items you'll discover that they only have one style in store. My boyfriend and I were looking for a bottom shower door seal. They only had one size for that. The solution was buy it online and to ship it to the store for free, which wasn't so bad. I like that he employees here are basically a bunch of dads. They know a lot and shared their two cents with us young adults on home improvement. We're trying to restore our bathroom and needed to repaint and reseal a lot of things. How unprofessional it is to make you wait for more than 30 mins just to tell us to wait another 15 mins by 3 different people. After talking to the 1st person, I had to even come out and asked them myself how long will it take for them to load/unload the Uhaul since first person said it will take another 15 mins which didn't happen. The 3rd person who approached us said one of cutter is on their lunch break and one is helping with the Uhaul. We just needed to have someone cut the wood for us which means that we have to wait for more than an hour just to have someone attend to us when that could have been done in just in 3 -5 minutes. Never going back to this Home Depot location again. We spent an hour at this place for nothing and was a complete waste of time because they failed to manage expectations. I rented a carpet cleaner for a day. Within a few minutes after plugging it in at home, it stopped working. The power would not turn on. The cleaner clearly had electrical issues before I even rented it. When I returned it, the clerk (Jarrod I believe) said he would let me know about repair costs. Again the cleaner was already damaged when I rented it. Yes, it might have functioned when i walked out the door with it but the damage was not done by me. In trying to explain this to the clerk, he was rude and raised his voice to me. I asked for his manager (Fernando I believe), who when he came over, essentially blamed me for the damage, and was just as rude. I understand the point of the insurance but this is a scam. I will never rent equipment from Home Depot again and I suggest you do not either. If I get charged for "damage" I did not do, I will file a claim with the BBB as well. "It's not my department I'm only in xxx" then in my mind why won't you call someone in this department? Everyone is either trying to know and belittle you with probably their high school public education and talk to you about watts and when you explain amps x volts and heat dissipation their argument all falls apart. Explaining to you how to measure the distance between the bolts (which to this day I wonder why) and try to act smart is just beyond explainable. During the summer, I was working on improving my patio garden and wanted to get some equipment to add more greenery to my space. I had a stand outside to hold my plants, but wanted to free up some ground space. I was looking for rail planters, but ended up finding some racks and wall mounts. They were super hidden near where they kept the soil, so I felt lucky finding exactly what I needed. The rail planter racks came in a full kit with screws and tools to assemble. Super easy to put together and they are very sturdy. They held up during the crazy Santa Ana winds and heavy rainy weather we've had recently. On another occasion, I came in to buy some screws for a TV stand. The tools for the stand had various screws that didn't work (either too short or too long), so we ran over to Home Depot. We brought the instruction manual and asked one of the sales rep to guide us with what we needed. He was able to pinpoint the exact ones, but the nuts were quite pricey at $1.50 each. We perused the section a bit more and was able to locate some washers to act as spacers to fill in the space to work with what we had currently lol. The washers were like $0.12 each, so we saved where we could to make things work. However, it was still a good experience all around since we were able to find exactly what we needed with some help locating the items. read more

Review for Kids Workshop. No need to sign up online because they don't check anything. When you do sign up and follow the rules and get there by 1030 and the event is from 9-12 they will tell you they ran out of kits and you will get an old different kit from 6 months ago or no kit. My kid has been disappointed multiple times. So unless you have 2 hours to waste (standing in line) with a toddler then have fun. I don't recommend. It's like a cattle herd free for all and we're a little more civil than that. Great idea Home Depot, but poor execution. read more

ABOUT 20 MINUTES LATER, I received a phone call from THIS Particular Home Depot and this guy, BRUCE was on the line. He said that he was thinking about my problem cuz it's a very specialized and unique situation due to a medical and memory issue at our house. So he proceeded to describe what parts I needed to I order and have my electrician install in order to bypass the systems for all three devices. WOW!!! WHAT A GUY!! Thank you once again, BRUCE. I have been to this location several times. This review is for this specific instance on 11/25. Overall, location is 3 stars because of the normal highs and lows like any other Home Depots. I was unlucky to get an employee who did not treat me with courtesy during checkout. I purchased two trash cans, mulch, 8 bricks, and a sponge. I was using their self-service. First, she just looked inside the trash bin. I just scanned one item at this point. She then "reminded" me that I had mulch at the bottom. So, at this point, she is clearly assuming I am stealing? She didn't even wait for me to finish scanning everything and asked how many bricks. I have them lined up two layers in four piles. Had me scan (I am guessing) her ID. Which I had to scan twice. At this point, maybe 3 star (wouldn't have left a review) if everything else was fine. Then she navigated to the bricks for 0.96. I nicely told her that I believed it was 0.68. She said that is what the system says and asked if it looked like the brick and if it was grey. All the bricks look similar. And she just rang me up before I even feebly said that it looked similar, so I paid because she already had her own problems. I then went to the garden section. Asked the guy there if I could leave my cart and went to look for the bricks, which clearly was 0.68. I brought it to a different lady who was very nice to validate it, refunded, and then I had to "repurchase." I don't know why they can not just fix the price and give me the difference (no minus points as basically all corporate companies are not capable of this). But at least she was courteous. Considered adding two stars for the second part. Summary, WHY DO THEY EVEN HAVE SELF CHECKOUT IF THEY ARE JUST GOING THROUGH MY STUFF ANYWAY! THEY SHOULD HAVE TIPPED ME FOR DOING PART OF THEIR WORK! If I question, why didn't she at least check the price? I am positive the extra work cost them more than the $3 they tried to ripoff of me.
