This is a nice walk in Midtown. Lunchtime was packed but not completely full which was nice. There was six of use and we managed to find the long table. We made a family style order and ordered most of the menu. Grilled cheeses and side salad were best. The salad dressing was sweet. The Reno was good because of the pepperochini. Added prosciutto to a regular grilled cheese and that was good. You can add prosciutto to anything. The turkey sandwich would've been great if it had more pesto. The steak sandwich with roasted bell pepper aoili was okay. Lacked in flavor. The Cajun egg salad sandwich was bland, could've used more seasoning. The soups could've used more flavor. My favorites are chicken tortilla and on Wednesdays the loaded baked potato. My recommendation is to get a meal with cup of soup and half sandwich. Parking might be tough depending on the time you're coming in, but it is worth it. Being an organic place, their menu options dairy and remember, once they run out of a certain soup that day, that's it. One of our favorite items is the bread bo. For an additional $, you can have your soup served in a bread bowl that is perfect to dip in your soup. They have the options of ordering soup amd sandwich both regular size, or combo it as half and half. And in the end you always get a cookie for dessert. One of the things I find unique about SUP is the order "number" for your table, which is actually little sign with Reno's street names. Not to mention. Their decor. Next time you're there, make sure to check their trash can @entrance (left side by the window). Very creatively, they painted as a ginormous Campbell's soup can! Visited this restaurant with my family while staying in the Reno area. The customer service was good and very informative about the menu choices. As our food arrived it was plentiful. Who goes to a soup shop for a sandwich? This guy. I'm not a regular at Süp, but I've gone a few times each year since before moving here in 2019. They are consistently quality, year after year. I've *never* had a lackluster lunch nor dinner here. What's to love? Simply, a diverse and healthy menu. I'm always a half soup, half sandwich orderer. I love a classic tomato soup and grilled cheese, but for anything outside that routine, most places do not offer much by way of creative sandwich making. Süp is the exception and sets the bar. I've had the pesto turkey (house roasted), the tuna melt, toasted veggie, and the Melty BLAT. All excellent, altogether different from one another, and all a fine compliment to the soup had on those occasions. PAIRING. it's all about that pairing. The soup offerings change daily, but it's on a fixed schedule, so you can plan ahead. However, if you're not aware of this in advance, it can be...confusing, if not outright disappointing if you have an unusual favorite that isn't available every day. However, usually the classics are always available: your tomato bisque, chicken noodle, and your cheddar broccoli. Hard to go wrong with that trifecta. I'm not a summer soup guy usually. I start visiting in the colder months for that quick comfort food that's impossible to find anywhere else in this city. I like the atmosphere outside: a high porch set away from the road, or a lower patio for close encounters with pedestrians and curious dogs. Speaking of, dogs are allowed on the porch and patio, a huge win if you're out for a walk with your pal and decide on a whim for a snack. I'd give a perfect 5stars, but as others have mentioned sometimes customer service is...challenged. It's "just soup," but sometimes orders take a good 15-20min to come out. And similar to the customer experience with the menu, sometimes new staff do not seem 100% familiar with what's on the menu and when (i.e., which day is what special soup). One waiter got snippy with my guest, and I have little to no tolerance for that when someone is simply trying to understand what's available from the menu. BUT, altogether good. For a sandwich I ordered the Toasted Veggie served on a baguette which includes: Grilled marinated Tofu, Portabella mushroom, avocado, havarti cheese, lettuce and tomato spread with a dill hummus . I like all these ingredients but it fell flat, in my opinion it needed garlic and something with spice or acidity. The hummus was the predominant flavor here. Coming into Reno on business and wanting something light, we chose to stop at Sup based on their Yelp reviews. It turned out to be a good choice with only a few minor glitches. I ordered the turkey sandwich on cheese bread. I am not a fan of aoli spread so I had that held and picked a raspberry garlic (?) sauce on the side. The sandwich had a generous turkey portion which was tasty. I only used a dallop of spread out of habit. The bread did not stand up to the turkey mass very well. If I remember correctly they were out of sour dough. The young ladies behind the counter were helpful. We must have been near the University given all the young patrons. I really hate doing this to Süp but after tonight I feel like something needs to change. I have always recommended Süp and loved the food but tonight we ordered pickup. In the order it consisted of the following: -Steak salad -Grilled steak baguette -Chicken noodle soup When we got home to start eating I noticed in my steak salad that there were cranberries, wilted lettuce, and 3-4 pieces of steak. I was highly confused because in the description it states that there are strawberries. In the picture, it looks amazing with a balance of meat, strawberries, and cheese. It was nothing like that. I had to throw more than half of the salad away because there was more brown lettuce than green. The sandwich had no flavor, extremely greasy, and the bread was burnt to a crisp. The chicken noodle soup was cold and had no flavor. Now, my family and I aren't sick or have COVID so we were extremely confused as to why our order turned out as bad as it did. Not to mention we spent $42 NOT including tip for all of it. This is not the first time we have had a bad experience but we thought that maybe they had a bad day and what not but in reality this establishment has gone down the drain. The cheese on my soup looked microwaved over and the tortilla part was just chips thrown on the corner (completely different from their website). As I mixed it the cheese didn't mix in well at all. Sadly Chilli's chicken tortilla soup is better. The sandwich bread wasn't fresh and a bit chewy, you can barely taste any pesto and the so called rosemary chicken was tasteless. Giving Süp five stars for their awesome service! I came while visiting my mom in Reno, needed to find something healthy to eat and I loved the menu options here. I ordered soups and salads, one of them being the smoky tofu salad...I couldn't wait to try it, I got it anticipating the smoky tofu. Came home, opened up the boxes and there was not a single tofu in my salad, it was supposed to have quinoa too and though it did, it only had about the equivalent of a tablespoon at best. Now, if your salad is labeled quinoa and tofu, it should be there and not a sprinkle. I also didn't have nearly enough dressing, really it was only a large portion of arugula. Think this needs some adjusting...soup however, absolutely delicious!!! I had cauliflower and my mom had tomato bisque and both of them were fantastic! I called and informed the girl answering the phone of my dilemma and without hesitation she offered to refund or replace my food. I opted for the refund as I was on the other side of town already and was leaving for home the next day. But it shows a lot when a place wants to make it right and no questions asked. My husband and I wanted to find a new place for Lunch while we were in Midtown. We went first to Perenn Bakery and found they had just closed.. so we sat next to a table outside and checked out ratings on Yelp for a place that sounded good to have lunch. We got some ice for our water and sat outside in the front. We waited for a very long time, while people who had been in line after us had all gotten their food, we figured to give them more time but after half hour my husband when to check. Apparently they lost the ticket and didn't know what table we were at. They were so very busy and apologized profusely. Our food was brought out hot and perfect within a couple of minutes. We were enjoying being outside and could understand how busy they were and things happen. The workers were so kind and polite. The food was very tasty and cooked perfect. We will go back! Last night my bestfriend and I wanted to grab a late dinner and chose Süp. I usually order a bread bowl soup here and barely finish it because the bread bowl is too big for me so last night I chose a regular bowl for the first time and enjoyed my cheddar broccoli soup! I love how creamy it is and the small clumps of broccoli. It just sucks how it gets cold easily.
