The best! Prompt, reliable, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. I have called S&S three times over the past several years and have been exceedingly pleased with service each time. The problem is quickly identified and properly repaired with no attempt to sell unnecessary parts. With the most recent, I called about 10 a.m. and left VM reporting inoperable dryer. Within the hour, I had a return call and scheduled repair for that afternoon. He arrived promptly at the scheduled time and quickly found a loose wire and quickly completed the repair without replacing any parts. Within about 4 hours of my call, our dryer was again operating in a "like new" condition. Amazing! If I had called one of the major appliance services, the service call would have been scheduled days later with a full half-day window for their arrival. No doubt, they would have found some parts that "must" be replaced and the cost of their "service" would have been more than S&S. Why call a major repair service to whom you are just a defective appliance to be scheduled and treated in a robotic way? Instead, call S&S where you are dealing directly with the owner/operator and treated with respect. Your appliance will be repaired quicker and better for a reasonable. I never leave reviews, but Nick at S&S did such a great job, I wanted to take the time to sit down and write one. Our dryer was making a bad noise and the individual we had used for years had retired. I first called a local company (authorized Whirlpool service provider) what ended up being a bad experience overall. Frustrated with them that after almost two weeks our dryer still wasn't going to be fixed, I got online just to see if there was a better alternative. Our church runs a day care ministry in Elk Grove, and within a week both of our aging ovens stopped working - which are used to heat the children's lunches. Made an on-line appointment with:S&S Appliance Parts & Service S&S Work Order: 12/02/9, # 194821 Refrigerator was not cooling properly and would not make ice. The technician connected to the refrigerator, via Bluetooth, and determined the compressor was bad. He looked up the serial number and said the compressor was not covered under warranty and it would cost around $600.00 for a compressor and $300.00 to $400.00 for labor. I declined the repair because I did not want to spend $900.00 to $1,000 to repair it. I paid a $95.00 service charge. 20 Jul 2020: I found the Warranty information for the refrigerator and found the compressor has a 10 year warranty. I called S&S and spoke with Dora. She said replacing the compressor under warranty would be around $300.00 to $400.00. but I needed to contact Maytag to service it. Went to the Maytag Web Site and was assigned Service job # SWPN71FB546E-1. Requested appointment: July 23 2020, 8:00 am-4:00 pm. 23 July 2020: S&S called and said they did not have the compressor yet but should be out tomorrow. 24 July 2020: S&S called and said they did not have the compressor yet but will call me when it is available. 30 July 2020: Technician from S&S Appliance came out and replaced the compressor and filter dryer He said it would take several hours for the temperature would stabilize. He said to call if there were any problems. 10 September 2020: The refrigerator was still not cooling properly and would not make ice. Called Maytag and Scheduled ANOTHER service call with S&S Appliance for 22 September 2020, between 8:00 am-12:00 pm 22 September 2020: Technician from S&S Appliance checked the refrigerator for leaks. He said the lower evaporator was leaking and was probably the reason the compressor burned out before. he said it would probably cost around $300.00 to $400.00 to repair it. I declined the repair. I was not charged for a service call. 22 September 2020: Sent an e-mail to S&S requesting one of two things to happen to close this matter. 1. Refund my $330.00 OR 2. Repair the problem and apply the money I already paid toward the repair. 28 September 2020: Tommy Kennedy, the Service Manager from S&S Appliance called and apologized for taking so long to respond to my email. He said he would get a new evaporator on order and schedule the repair for "NO ADDITIONAL COST". 5 October 2020, 10:25 am: Called S&S and Left a message for Tommy Kennedy, the Service Manager. I said when the part came in we could schedule the repair as soon as he wanted. 5 October 2020, 10:35 am: Dora, from S&S Appliance called and said Tommy Kennedy had already schedule an appointment for 8 October 2020. I asked to make it after 10:00 am as I had a medical appointment that morning. Dora said it was requested as 12:00 to 5:00. Around 8 October 2020: Dora, from S&S Appliance called and said the evaporator had not come in yet and the 8 October appointment would be rescheduled. October 2020, 10:35 am: Dora, from S&S Appliance called and said the evaporator had come in and scheduled an appointment for 26 October 2020. 8:00 to 12:00. 26 October 2020: Service Technician arrived and installed a new evaporator. I was charged $110.00 Labor $158.38 Parts $11.09 - Tax $279.47 - Total Tommy Kennedy, the Service Manager from S&S said, on 28 September 2020 " He would get a new evaporator on order and schedule the repair for no additional cost". 27 October 2020: Called S&S Appliance Parts & Service. I was on hold for 35 minutes then was hung up on. Called S&S Appliance Parts & Service. I was on hold for 20 minutes before someone answered. I asked to speak to Tommy Kennedy about the $110.00 labor charge that he said I would not be charged. Pearl-Ann said Tommy was not available but she would leave a message and have him call me back. I left my phone number and the work order number and was told Mr. Kennedy will call me back. 29 October 2020, 9:30 am: Called S&S Appliance Parts & Service I was on hold for 16 minutes. I spoke with Pearl-Ann and asked to speak with Tommy Kennedy. She said He as in a meeting and she would have him call me back. 29 October 2020, 2:15 pm: Called S&S Appliance Parts & Service I was on hold for 22 minutes. I spoke with Tammy. She said Tommy was in a meeting. I left my name and number and Tammy said she will have him call me back. 3 November 2020, 3:23 pm: Called S&S Appliance Parts & Service I was on hold for 10 minutes. I Spoke with Natasha, she said Tommy was gone for the day. Natasha said she will leave a message on Tommy Kennedy's desk "Right Now" to call me back. 12 November 2020, 2:58 pm: Called S&S Appliance Parts & Service I was on hold for 12 minutes. We were lucky when we called out of the blue, and found Dave nearby already. With the refrigerator stopped and the food spoiling, he was able to come over, use the special tools he already had, install the special parts he already had on hand, and get it back to running perfectly. He did a thorough and careful job all around, for a reasonable fee, and as a bonus it didn't even take a whole hour. Well another zoom to my rescue by S&S Appliance Service! My dryer ceased working when ready to be fed a load of towels so I called S&S. I needed the clean towels as I going to take a shower. I barely had them hung up to air dry when Nick called me and arranged to come right out! He's a MAGICIAN, I'd swear! Well, VERY talented and efficient as he had my dryer analyzed and fixed quite rapidly. WHILE he was repairing the dryer I'd mentioned that I'd been waiting for almost 4 hours for my ice maker to drop ice cubes and that the juice didn't seem cold enough. I really didn't think too much of it as I'd gotten used to it running noisy and needing frequent adjustments to the temperature controls. He was on his way to another call, of course but took the time to look at my refrigerator and give me some tips. Unfortunately, the fridge was scraping by on proverbial "life support" but I have a very sick dog and her medication has to be refrigerated. He told me to call him if the tips didn't work. I left a voice mail for him and next thing I know he contacts me and arranges an appointment to come out and breath new life into my fridge. It's running like BRAND NEW... in fact QUIETER and more efficiently than it ever has! Better than when it was new (oddly). I have depended on S&S for MANY years now and as far as I'm concerned S&S is the ONLY player in MY ballpark. I've never been disappointed or let down. If anything, they go a step beyond what is necessary. Wow ! I'm too impressed with Nick's ability to fix appliances. I called him Tuesday night because of my whirlpool gas dryer stop working. The next day called me back right away and wants to fix it the same day. Unfortunately, I'm at work already , so we arranged for him to come on Thursday instead. My husband told me that he came in, looked at the dryer , explained to my husband what was wrong and how he will fix it. A pulley on the motor broke off. The belt was then left hanging and started to burn. He fixed the pulley and replaced the belt .... All in less than 30 mins!!!!! It made my day. He charged us in very reasonable price and no one can beat that price (believe me I asked and called other services how much they charge!!!!) For all the Northwest area residents - he is the best!!!
