We had a leaking roof that was visible in the room below. I was trying to decide whether to repair the leak or replace the whole roof that had about 30 years on it. Ryan saber stopped by and I showed him where the leak was and he went on the roof. when he completed his assessment, he said that he had found the leak and, unasked, checked out the whole roof and to my surprise, he found it in very good condition. Again unasked, He applied a sealant on the leaking area that he said would hold up for a month or two during the rainy season. I needed to have 3 old, cracked skylights replaced, so contacted Saber Roofing after seeing recommendations on nextdoor and their high ratings. Ryan and his staff were a pleasure to work with, and everyone seemed highly committed to performing the best job possible. They made excellent replacement recommendations and the installed skylights look great! I expected some debris to fall into the house during replacement but it was negligible. A worker made sure to point out to me exactly where a couple of nails had fallen in, which I thought was a very thoughtful and nice touch. We had the opportunity to use Saber Roofing again after moving into a new-to-us house. We wanted to make sure the roof was in top-top shape, since our last experience with a Spanish-style tile roof was not good. And also because one of our friends pointed out that he could see light coming through our garage ceiling. Ryan's taken over the business from his dad Jay, and he was great: he communicate constantly, communicated exactly what his crew was going to do, and delivered on all his promises. The only downside was that it took a while to get the work done, as his crew has been busy. But luckily we've had a very dry winter this year, and haven't had any storms roar through to test the water tightness of our roof. Ryan had a crew of between 6-8 people on the roof for a day and a half. They knew what they were doing, kept themselves safe (e.g., drying off some moisture on the tiles before walking on them), and cleaned up after themselves carefully. Overall, a great experience. Highly recommended. Ryan came out to give me a quote on a roof replacement as we get ready to install a new Solar system. Ryans's approach and attentions to detail are very in line with my own high expectations. I mentioned I have a leaking roof vent. He flew the coolest drone I've ever seen up on my two story roof to take a look. It had just finished raining. The vent cap was missing. He later sent out one of his guys to fix it which only took a few minutes and he wouldn't take anything for the work. We're so glad we chose Saber Roofing to re-roof our house. Their quality is superb, their work style is the most professional I've experienced and their knowledge of roofing systems is superior and unmatched. I deem them to be absolutely the best roofing company in the entire Bay Area. Our project was rather unique, since we'd just completed 3 remodel projects, each adding significant square footage. We had a different general contractor (he "Who shall not be named!"). This general contractor left a royal mess of the roof, since they had to join to new construction to the existing older structure, they botched the job so badly that it was essential "unrepairable" and repeated attempts by this moron (previous contractor) couldn't stop the water intrusion. This is when we realized that we needed a seasoned professional Roofing company to fix the roof. This is were Ryan Saber came-in and he expertly assessed the condition of the roof and his crew re-roofed the older section of the roof and then beautifully joined in to the newer sections of the roof. There was also multiple "little poo-poos" were the previous contractor messed-up on the new section of roof that were surprises that we did realize at the start. Ryan's quote for fixing these while the main job was in-flight I thought was very reasonable. I believe this is where Ryan's professionalism really shines above the rest, since most general contractors love the "little surprises" during a project, since they know they can charge "double / triple" for these, however Ryan's did not, he was very reasonable in fixing these little surprises that came-up and that fact, in addition to the superb job they did on the roof, is why Ryan Saber's Roofing company will aways be my 1st choice for roofing. Rescue over Holidays! The worst gift after moving into a new place is a leaky roof after the first rain of the season - over thanksgiving. I tried to contact a dozen roofers but everybody was off-duty. Following a friend's referral, I tried to contact Ryan and he sent his folks over right away on a rainy day. It was quite hard to diagnose the problem in rain, so after the first fix, the leak slowed but did not fully stop. So they showed up again next day, and spent well over an hour on the roof and patched over 6 holes which were not previously identified. The foreman Javier and his sidekick were super nice and professional, and they even apologized for not able to stop the leak completely the day before, which I understand it was completely their fault. Through out the time I have been trading emails with Ryan and he has been very helpful and responsive. When I asked about the option of re-roofing, both him and Javier recommended re-coating instead of more expensive options since the roof's condition was still quite good, which I feel it was very professional. Ryan also gave me a very good discount and not taking advantage of the holiday situation at all (at that time I pretty much had to pay any number he asks for since he was the only one available). Overall I really appreciate their professionalism and work ethics. I've dealt with a couple roofing companies over the years. I've never been very impressed by their work nor their customer service. Hence me having to call Saber Roofing. I got my roof done a couple of years ago by another roofing company. They failed to tell me my skylights would fit differently after they did a complete tear off. One would think the other roofing company might have tried to sell me new skylights??? Them fitting differently not only allowed debris & moisture to get in, it also allowed much more road noise through as well. So I called Saber Roofing to have somebody come give me a quote on new skylights. In a couple days a nice guy named Jake came out measured everything, gave me a price & told me my skylights should be in in a few weeks. A couple of weeks later I got a call my skylights were in & ready to install. We set up an appointment for a couple days later. The installers showed up & in a matter of less than 2 hours the old skylights were off & I had 7 brand new skylights. One being a solar remote controlled skylight very cool! Might have to put a couple of those in my kitchen in the next couple years. Ryan Saber came out today to finalize the invoice. Also to check the skylights. I'd say from beginning to end this has been a very pleasant experience. They have all been knowledgeable, helpful, professional, patient & kind. I can't say enough about the quality and service of Saber Roofing. Our house is an old English cottage-style home with high-pitched gables and three layers of old wood and composite shingles. To complicate things, the house is surrounded by flower borders, carefully trimmed hedges and lawns that were in harms way of the roofing project. We sought bids from seven local roofing companies. Two companies wouldn't bid because the roof pitch was too steep. One company was "too busy" to provide a bid. Of the four bids received, Saber provided the most detailed, best priced, and best references. They provided information about their Diamond Rating, their Better Business rating, and over a hundred references for jobs they had done in our area. It was clear from the beginning that we were dealing with real professionals. On the first day of the five-day project, Ryan Saber showed up promptly at 8:00, introduced me to his in-house tear-off foreman (Jose), and carefully walked the property with me to talk about how the plants and garden were going to be carefully shielded and protected, how the old shingles would be removed, and where the guys would stage their materials. I immediately got the feeling that Ryan really cared about our home and didn't take this job as "just another project." Later on the first day of work, Jay Saber (Ryan's father and partner) stopped by to also check on the job and to introduce himself. Over the course of the week, the crew worked incredibly hard to clear off the old vents and shingles; to install CDX plywood over the original skip sheathing; and to install both gutter guards, eave vents, ridge vents, under-layment and Certainteed Landmark shingles. I wish you could see the house. It looks fantastic in every detail. I really appreciate how Ryan personally called me every day to check in on the progress of the project and what to expect the next day. He was always concerned about knowing if we had questions or any concerns. The job entailed one change order for unanticipated water damage over the front porch. The $100 extra charge was very reasonable and was discussed with us before the work was done. He is professional, knowledgeable, and has very high standards for his own work. I had read the great reviews this company had, so I decided to give them a call. I also called another company for an estimate on fixing some leaks in our roof. The people at Saber were amazingly positive and prompt about getting back to me, even though they said their schedule was full. We had had the roof leak problem for a number of years and other companies had not been able to fix it. I decided to ask Saber if we could get on an alternate list to be called when they had an opening and they agreed. I can't believe what a good job they did. After having the leaks for so long, we thought it was hopeless, but they went over every single place where water could possibly get in and they sealed it all up. We just had both the gutter and the roof done by Saber Roofing and think these folks did a great job. I received emails daily with updates on the the job, what had been accomplished and what was next up to get done. We ran into a technical problem during the project where they discovered large metal pillars supporting my living room which required the use of a slightly different/larger shingle for the ridge vents. They handled this issue superbly, offering a few design choices and left it to me to choose the best course of action regardless of the overall work involved. He took detailed pictures of the damage, provided quote and was even able to schedule work during this crazy time. I had Saber roofing come and do what was initially an easy maintenance job. I had to wait a number of weeks before work started, but Ryan set my expectations accurately which is fine by my (I don't expect a good roofing company to be waiting for work to do). When the crew arrived and started removing roof tiles it was obvious the project was going to be much bigger than expected (at no fault of theirs, the problems were hidden under the tiles). After spending more time assessing the scope of the fixes Ryan suggested a plan of action and his crew were very quick to complete the project. Roofing can be complicated, even for a relatively simple roof. We have a small pool house with a stand alone bedroom and small storage shed with a "flat" roof. It took me a while, and several questions to understand my options in getting two different styles of roofing and some complicated gutter work done.
