This was our first time trying Sabor Divino, and they have an amazing variety of Mexican treats! Their menu includes Mexican ice cream, fresh fruit, tortas, Tostilocos, elotes, raspados, licuados, and so many other delicious options. We ordered two coconut raspados, and they were refreshing and perfect for a warm day. The service was friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. We sat down to enjoy our raspados, and it was nice to see a steady flow of customers stopping by and others relaxing while enjoying their orders. Even though the shop doesn't have air conditioning, they have a large fan that keeps the space comfortable, so it never felt too hot. I rather go to a taqueria and get a real nachos for $15/$17 bucks. The place is clean and the people are truly nice... it just wouldn't make any sense for me to come back. Sabor Divino is a nice local store for tortas, nachos, desserts, fruit drinks, smoothies, sodas, etc. The owner was friendly and welcoming. I think there is only street parking. It had bananas, of course, and topped with mounds of ice cream, strawberries, whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate syrup, and wafer cookies! OMG. It was big enough for 3-4 people. The manzana loca, Michoacan style, was unlike any other. It had the tasty wedges of apple, chamoy, and peanuts, but also chunks of fresh fruit, including watermelon and mango. So I was craving Elote like none other and my adventure partner in crime told me about this tiny little spot he's seen but never went in. We briefly hopped onto Yelp to confirm this place not only had the typical elote, but one called Elote Loco which immediately caught my attention because it also included with the usual elote toppings - crushed Flaming Hot Cheeto's! They had me hook, line & sinker on that note & we decided to give this place a go. Very clean little place with sufficient seating areas, large screen television and some happening tunes in the background played as we walked in and saw such an amazing looking menu offering all the expected Mexican-style sweets including ornate mangonadas with chile and huge pineapples with various fruits on wooden skewers adorned with dripping lemon and Tajin spicy powder as far as the eyes can see. The lovely lady who assisted us with our order was just so pleasant - barely spoke any English, so my friend helped me with my broken Spanish skills, but she understood perfectly fine. She explained they no longer offered the corn on the cob, but that they could make it exactly as it was pictured with all the ingredients, except that the corn would be cut separately from the cob, which was just fine by me. She was so helpful and smiley and just plain sweet - I told my friend right away "She is so freaking adorable! I wanna take her home with me!" Yeah, I'm cheesy like that - but that just demonstrates the level of feeling so welcomed. We sat maybe 5 minutes awaiting our order and she made sure I opened the container to ensure it was made exactly the way I specified, which I appreciated. I literally was drooling and must've looked like a little kid in a candy store at the sight of what was awaiting my enjoyment because both my friend and her giggled at my delightful expression as I thanked her so much (I was seriously craving, ok?) - I took it to go and couldn't wait to devour that hot, spicy corny deliciousness as soon as we got in the car. *Note* - this sucker is big enough to share with a friend, so bear that in mind if you choose to order it - unless you just have a beast of an appetite which in that case, this will satisfy you and then some! The corn tasted very fresh and was layered with some mayo drizzled over it, some lime juice, crushed Flaming Hot Cheetos, queso & Tapatio hot sauce. The ice cream they sell is the delicious Double Rainbow Ice Cream, a local San Francisco brand. They make all of their cream and sorbet using fresh ingredients, making the ice cream smooth and of high quality. They also offer few basic food items and snacks, as well as, smoothies and fresh fruit juices. The inside is simple and clean with several tables for dining in. This location is next to a Starbucks I intend to visit soon. As soon as we walked in I noticed the big difference in the decor and thoughts put into this business. Nice, clean tables. English speaking staff. They take cc. Definitely classier than my original on King. Although they have very similar offerings they lack that taste and smooth quality in the south of the border ice cream that I learned to love. I look forward to actually visiting them and don't mind the long line. There is no long line here. Does my cholo and cholitas know that the ice cream here isn't as creamy as my original favorite ice cream place? I'm not impressed with my initial encounter. I'm thinking of going back. We got the Duro con cueritas - a big square chicharones loaded with veggies, salsa, cheese and pickled pork rinds. If you haven't had pork rinds of this caliber then you're missing out, but then again it's an acquired taste. ($6) Fresas con crema - translates into strawberries and cream. The cream is thick and smooth, strawberries fresh and the added granola (optional with no added charge) makes this a favorite of my hubby and kiddo. ($6) Mangonada - they blend fresh fruit and then add those mild spice sauce which makes this refreshing with a slight tang...oh this is frozen like a huge popsicle ($3) Chamango - cut up mangoes, topped with mango ice cream, topped with with more mangoes and their spices makes this a sweet delight. Every interaction I've had with the folks working here has been a good one, they're nice and they're also quick. The only down fall to this location is parking but I've came on a weekend and have successfully found parking right in the front. I came here to try the infamous Mangonada. The charge the same price as the others except their cup is smaller. The Mangonada itself is not bad. It's good but not spectacular. They use mango ice cream made by local creamery Double Rainbow which is a quality brand. They don't skimp on it along with the fresh mango chunks.
