After talking to many different home security companies I gave Safe and Sound a call. They answered all of my questions and was able to get a sales representative out to my house that afternoon. The sales rep showed up on time. He asked me what I thought I needed and recommended that I arm one additional door that I had not considered. He explained how the equipment worked and suggested that if I wanted extra sensors they would charge me the same price I would pay online. No up-selling. They were price competitive with other companies I spoke with. They were able to install the system the next day and showed up at the front end of the two hour window they gave me. The installer was professional and installed the equipment efficiently and the system works. The equipment is super easy to use. Purchased a new home in Benicia. Unfortunately, the security system was initially wired into a dead outlet so it went out after the batteries drained. But the technician, Evan, who came out to discover why my system was showing a failure, was knowledgeable, helpful, and so courteous he changed my opinion over the entire experience. Evan was knowledgable, showed me that the outlet didn't have power, walked me though the use of the system, the app, key fob. He moved the system to a different power source and I'm doing great now. Not sure what to describe the sales person. He was very professional and wanted to sign a contract before he left, at the same time he was pushy. He stated that the alarm panel will be completely wireless and he stated that if there was a breakin, the company will pay upto $500 in deductible. The next day the technician came out to install the panel and 2 smoke detectors. He didn't ask where I wanted the panel installed but just assumed that it was going where the previoius panel was. I had to stop him. The panel he installed had wires that are very visable, same as the previous company that I was with. He put holes in the wall and my husband wasn't happy with it. I was with ADT for over 5 years before I decided to switch to Safe and Sound. Now I can't wait for my contract to end so I can go back to ADT. Their salesman was very pushy. He pretended to call his "manager" on his cell phone to supposedly give me a better deal. I finally gave in. But my BIGGEST problem with this company is that they SOLICIT to the numbers you provide for your emergency contacts. I called twice to express my disappointment. When I found out that my emergency contacts continued to receive solicitation calls, I became furious and emailed the address on their website. To this day, I have not received any response nor an apology. ADT NEVER did this and I regret leaving such a reputable company. My battle with these solicitation calls has been going on for almost a year and my family and friends continue to receive calls from these guys! read more

I was contacted by a project manager to assess my needs. Based on the number of cameras, and size of my home, they provided a cost and time estimate. Matt and James came out to my home. We walked through the potential areas for placing cameras. They gave me insight for how they have mounted cameras in other projects and benefits of certain views. On the first day they got several cameras mounted and did the initial system setup. It was great to have a functioning system on the first day. I was able to try it out and check out the views at night. Matt and James did an excellent job with the installation. Everything was done very cleanly. Wires were tucked away hidden from view. Based on my experience I would highly recommend them for future installations. read more

NEVER! Whereas this company might provide efficient security systems (I have no idea) they are completely worthless when it comes to resolving billing issues. In February of this year my elderly mother suffered a stroke and was forced to leave her home. I contacted Safe Security and explained the situation. I was told that all I needed to do was send a letter on the letterhead of the assisted living facility where my mother now resides, explaining the situation and her account would be cancelled. It is now September, I have called every month since I sent the letter, in March, as required. Every month I am told that they have received the letter and will cancel her account, every month another billing statement arrives. This month I asked to speak to a supervisor, after a long wait she told me that the reason it was never cancelled earlier in the year was that the contract ran through October and since it was nearly October now it didn't matter. Truly interesting as it was nowhere near October in March when this all started. I was again told that she would "try" to cancel the account and I should call back in 10 days to check. One other interesting note. The supervisor I talked to did ask me how I mailed the letter. I responded that I mailed it certified mail, return receipt, she said "oh". However that shouldn't matter as multiple employees at the company told me they have received the letter. My guess is that was a feeble last ditch effort to get out of their responsibility. read more

A no soliciting sign means that the resident has requested that people not come to their homes to sell them things. We have such a sign, and Safe and Secure decided to ignore it. The admittedly well mannered young man kept insisting that he was just there to tell us of a change in SJPD policy, but was obviously trying to sell his company's product. We've had a number of break-ins and home invasions in the local area, so lots of Security Systems companies started delivering flyers, making cold calls, etc. Enough so, I decided to do nothing . . . . . . . Then I got a referral from my sister about these guys, so I called them and scheduled a visit. They were professional; even called to say they were running late, quoted a system appropriate for our needs, without a lot of extra-cost options we didn't need, and it was installed the same day by a guy who clearly knew what he was doing. Their equipment is good, and the installation was without damage or mess, and very little disruption. If you want a security system installed, it would be well worth your time calling these people. UPDATE: Still "5 star" rating: I was put in touch with Safe and Sound Security by my sister, who has two installations: one at her office, and one at home, so this review really covers three installations. We checked prices, and we found these people tp be very compeditive with all alternatives. They've been great - we've had "teething" issues with the system. It's a good system, but it's wireless and as anybody with a wireless computer, iPad, or cell phone knows, wireless can be flakey at times. {I've also got a house with a lot of metal doors, and an odd configuration, so the wireless reception is tricky; probably more so than a typical installation} The service guy, Dave, has come out to deal with the issues, and has nailed each one down, as they have happened . . . . Once he nails it down, the issue doesn't re-appear. Each time, both he and the office were gracious, had a friendly, professional, attitude, and dealt with the issue. In addition, the monitoring service used by Safe and Sound (Monotronics) is also really good and professional. Both my sister and I would highly recommend these folks. I see a bad review (in Google Reviews), and can only say 1) our experience is totally different, and 2) I have experience from three actual installations, as opposed to only talking to Safe & Sound (as was the case with the negative reviewer). read more

Found their security offer interesting and signed up with Othman for an appointment the following day with their Security Specialist. Othman was very courteous and I appreciated his easy manner and the fact that he did not crowd the doorway with his pitch. However, found Dustin to be very forward to the point he just marched into the house and immediately set up on dining room table without even being asked. Then, he proceeded to quickly go through all the benefits and features in a very pushy way. When he could see I was hesitant to sign up he tried to use several scare tactics to get me to sign up. When I said I have two dogs and one of them is over 100lbs with a mean bark and most criminals would just hear that and move on to an easier target, he said he could let me talk to 20 customers that were having their security installed as they were getting their dogs back from the vet. I found him to be very overbearing and frankly insulting. I would avoid these guys at all costs. Very unprofessional. read more

We are very satisfied with our Safe and Sound Security system. Back in February I switched to another cable company and agreed to their security system. When the person showed up to do the install, we discovered that their system had exposed wires and that was unacceptable to us. As we are going on an extended cruise in January, I found on Yelp, back in October, Safe and Sound Security. Dustin arrived at our home at the appointed time. We have a large home with many doors and windows. As a novice, I was thinking 2 front cameras, 2 inside cameras and 2 back yard cameras. Dustin worked with us on the placement of the 2 front and the 2 back yard cameras. For the inside, Dustin suggested we arm all the doors and sliding doors and install 3 motion detectors which meant we would not have to install inside cameras or arm the many windows. We also installed 2 smoke alarms that are tied into the alarm system and purchased a medic alert pendant device, also tied into the system. The non-camera system was installed one week later. The camera system was installed two weeks later (Jeremy and Mario) were terrific. Jeremy further improved on where to place the cameras. The inside wires are not visible. The outdoor wires are mainly hidden. The clarity of the cameras at night is amazing (we selected the medium grade camera). Humorously, the first time I tried to arm the system on my IPhone in the driveway I got a Kitchen sliding door unlocked message...we had left the sliding door completely open. read more

These younger guys in a Blue polo shirts with a hard to read insignia, came a t 2:30pm and 6:45pm with clipboards. A legit security company? We couldn't be more pleased or impressed by our entire experience with Safe and Sound. We had a consultation earlier in the week with a different alarm company, and something about the equipment just wasn't sitting well with us. Plus, the other company's salesperson told us it would take a week to get their system installed after we signed a contract. I heard about alarm.com from a coworker and found Safe and Sound on their website as a dealer. We made the call to Safe and Sound at 6pm and had a rep out the next morning at 9am. They had the attitude of "let us earn your business." Their equipment is state of the art. The other company showed us an archaic keypad with rubber number buttons. Safe and Sound offered us one that looks like an iPad with a very understandable interface. Everything about the system was so much more high tech. We ended up signing with Safe and Sound the same day because they were so confidence inspiring and informative. Our system was installed THE NEXT DAY. Arriving promptly at the time expected, our installation technician, Terry Tirey, instantly put us at ease. When you're walking a stranger through your home and exposing all your vulnerabilities, you need to feel comfortable. This guy was friendly, competent, polite, and genuinely trustworthy. He didn't rush, and he was extremely patient with us as he showed us our new system. I'm pretty sure he worked overtime to compensate for our learning curve. All together, this system and our installer really did make us feel Safe and Sound. read more

Being one of the few houses on my street that didn't have a security system we decided to have one installed. we weren't thrilled about doing this because we didn't want the extra expense so I took my time and did alot of comparing and homework. I had 3 estimates done, Xfinity Security, ADT, and Safe And Sound. I ended up working with Matthew at Safe And Sound. He was very knowledgeable and very easy to get ahold of, Since I knew I would have alot of questions this was very important to me. He came out to our house in San Jose twice from the east bay to get this done and gave me the best value and service for alot less than the other two companies I have mentioned. They gave me the equipment for free and all I pay is the monthly fee so we scheduled an installation. It was a really good deal. But the reason I'm writing this 5 star review is their technician Evan. He was amazing! He took his time and went the extra mile to get the job done right. We had some special requests for how we wanted to set up the alarm and he spent an extra hour getting it done. He was super professional and patient. We have multiple biotech offices and labs here in San Leandro and Safe and Sound Security did a great job installing our Brivo card access and AIPHONE system for all of our locations. They installed card access on many doors and setup a system where we can see people and buzz them in when entering. Due to the nature of our work, security and secrecy was of great importance and the team at Safe and Sound handled the job with great respect. There were times when we were doing extremely high sensitive work and they followed protocol to make sure they were not interfering with anything. The expectations were very high, our requirements were very technical, and they delivered on all of their promises and did not cut any corners. They really catered the system for us by making multiple custom modifications and it works great. We are able to remotely open doors and administer our security from anywhere with no worry. Patrick personally managed our project and was here to make sure everything was getting done properly and on time. They have great work ethic and even stayed extra long one night to make sure they were meeting our timelines. Initially we where very satisfied as Safe and Sound took over our ADT system with no hardware charge and the salesman agreed to match the ADT contract rate. Fast forward 3 years and we learned first they did not guarantee the rate and built in a 5% annual increase, We did not give one star as they did increase but did not max that out. Secondly we learned the monitoring is not the same level of service we had from ADT who checked the functioning of our system regularly(I think every month) and notified us if the diagnostics had a problem of if there was a connectivity issue. We learned after the fact we had over 1 year where the dial up notification was not working, they never noticed and when I questioned about this talking to Monotronics they didnt seem to care and basically said it was my problem. So ADT is clearly a better home security option in our experience and we used them for over 15 years prior to this and never had a case where we where charged an increase in NY or CA. One additional point feeding into the 2 star rating when we had thought we where supporting and getting the support of a local business but when we contacted Safe and Sound they explained they dont bill/manage the monitor and we have to deal with Monotronics directly, disappointing. read more

They were always easy to get a hold of and very knowledgeable of where to install the cameras. They took the time to make sure the conduit was installed as neatly as possible which was very important to us. Dustin O. was very helpful and cost mindful for us when deciding on the system. Trent H. listened to our concerns about appearance and did an amazing job. And Matthew was patient with explaining how to work the system...I'm not very computer friendly.
