This Safeway gets 4 stars because I actually found Himalayan pink salt on sale (I don't think other people really knew what it was). I couldn't believe it myself. But for what I paid for it, I definitely will try it!! It's also very convenient to other shops that I find myself having to visit - and it has a gas station which you get bonus discounts off each gallon of gas (I got my discount up to $0.40 once!). Besides the pink salt, I find that this particular Safeway to be . I've lived near much larger Safeways that offered a lot more in terms of deli, butcher and seafood, ready food meals & $5 pizza Fridays (huge pizzas w/garlic brushed crust). My Grandbaby's 3rd Birthday, Mom ordered cake in advance. We always love the results. Not this time.When we order we always ask for whip cream frosting, it tastes better. The cake looked lovely. But after the ho-rah! My daughter says Mom taste this, I'm 58 been cooking since 6 year's old. Boy, oh, boy it was awful, cake looked great, but the frosting ruined it, it tasted watered down like pure powdered sugar lots of butter but alot of powdered sugar,no whip cream either, down right gross. Never had any problems before. No quality whip cream frosting. So cake is ruined nobody could it eat it. It seems like someone needs alot more training. Yes , wish I could have been able to bake her a cake,but I work 55 hours a week 1 day off. So thanks for the disappointed Birthday ruined cake. Years we had good one's. So not this time. Gross . I've been going to this Safeway since its inception some 15 years ago, but there are some cautions one must take when using it. First, never go here after 230pm (it becomes a zoo! The parking lot for starters becomes so crowded that you begin to question that liability-only coverage you opted for. The inside becomes so crowded and with so little cashiers your sure to spent 35-1.00hr inside the store.) Second, Walmart is cheaper and Fred Myer's is the same but cleaner, less crowded, with a better presentation . Third, never come here on the weekends after 12pm for the same reasons listed under number 1 only more intensified. read more

Beautiful selection of flowers and gifts for every occasion/ holiday. I buy fresh flowers from here for my home year around! Money orders and stamps are available for purchase at the customer service desk. You can do western union at that desk as well as purchase lotto tickets. What I really love is the great selection of fresh, organic produce. Great selection of desserts and customizable cakes from the bakery too. Experienced better because there was no experience at all. Major Fail Safeway. My husband and I both have mobility issues so I thought I would try grocery delivery to save myself some time and energy. Safeway is close. I signed up, shopped and went to my cart to check out. Safeway seems to think I live in a whole different city. My address was magically already in there and was incorrect. I could find no way to change it. I attempted to contact their customer no service department but that took so long I eventually hung up. If I had that kind of time I would just go to the store myself. Looks like Walmart's free grocery pick up is a vastly better prospect if you are looking to make your life easier. read more

If you're in a hurry, do not go. The lines are almost always long. The prices aren't that good in the first place. I avoid this place, and I get frustrated every time I go in. But I've been told it's a big money maker, so there will be no motivation to change how it's run. read more

I was in Safeway about a week ago of course looking for good deals (I have to admit I have given up looking for good deals at Safeway with the high prices) Saw something called just for U on a sale sign and having some difficulty and someone who I thought was just an employee walked up to me and asked if I needed help (didn't think he could on my cell phone but what the heck) So I told him what I was doing and he assisted me all the way to a phone call to make sure I had all I needed. Didn't think much of it till now when I was shopping with my manufacturers coupons that I remembered his advice to check all adds to make sure I get all the deals I can. I saved so much that I just wanted to let Safeway now that you had a valued employee that I recently found out through a friend he had helped in another awesome way that he was a supervisor Named Jeff. Not sure what the staffing problem except there is one and has been for several months. Today, checkout lines were very long, going into the aisles and there are only 4 lanes open. You can tell the cashiers are trying their best and most are usually pleasant. However, customers are getting very frustrated and arguing happens among us. I called the flower lady cris about a boquet today and she was quite rude. She used a very irritated tone and seemed unhappy for me to be bothering her with questions at all, I was placed on hold twice for her to "check something" & right off the bat told me that their bouquets started at $150 and only go higher from there, as if she could tell over the phone that I would not be able to afford it! Downloading the JUST FOR YOU app is a must. Remember to scan ALL your items with the app barcode scanner BEFORE u buy it. It can be done at home before u enter Safeway or as you place in kart. However it takes a couple minutes for the app to upload what u just did so make sure it went through. If it didn't ask the cashier to do it manually. Make sure u have ur app coupon to show them before u ask. if u don't see it on sale SCAN SCAN SCAN. I usually get a little off like 19 cents per item if not on sale. If it is on sale for you then you get around 2$ off per item. I have received the "buy 50$ of groceries and get 5$ OFF". The more loyal u are to Safeway the more they give u. For example I get $3.50 chocolate muffins that regular riff raff people get for 5$ and 5$ hot deli roasted whole chicken that cost around 8$. I also put in my Safeway phone number at the Safeway gas pump to save more money!!. Make sure to add the coupon that says "30 cents a gallon". Type in "Gas" on search or Double gas points on app. U can also get free food. The most free stuff I've gotten FOR NOW is a energy candy bar. I did see a lady get a free bag of pasta AND the energy Kashi type bar. Well those are my tips ;-) u can also add manufacturer coupons on top of J4U app. read more

I sent my SO to pick up a script for me. He didn't remember all of the information needed to pick it up for me (mind that I also had a new insurance card). Needless to say it ended in frustration for him and lack of genuine customer service. I called the pharmacy after he came home and told me that he paid full price (no out of pocket discount like I had before) and no insurance copay. Immediately they announced the blame game. Luckily I was able to salvage the conversation into getting some sort of answer. However still unimpressed with their willingness to help those who don't understand nor customer service. read more

Went in the day before Thanksgiving day and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was helpful, cordial and smiling despite the pressure they were under with the holiday crowds. The lines were long as would be expected but handled well and even the customers seemed in better spirits than usual. This store is always clean and the products are stocked and well arranged. I have grumbled about the low-life's stealing and pan-handling in the parking lot but this is happening all over town so overall a wonderful store, staff & management! read more

Safeway Pharmacy is trash. I went in the other day to pick up a prescription for my puppy and this lady Hanni was extremely rude to me the whole time I was in there. I have never picked up a prescription from Safeway and I probably never will again. When I arrived I went up to the window and she told me to read the "sign i dont do drop offs" so I went the the other side where the drop off was. A nice man then proceeded to help me there. After he told me to return in 15 minutes I continued to shop. When I returned Hanni yet again was a bitch. I was on the phone with my mother and she was telling me not to forget the coupon so I can save 10$. Hanni told me "you need to hang up the phone with her right now". After I hung up the phone with my mom I proceeded to give her the coupon code and she said "look next time you have a coupon you need to give it to the drop off because now I have to redo the process again". It was unbelievably ridiculous how rude this woman was. After I paid she asked if I needed to see the pharmacist and I told her no and she just walked away. I don't understand how she is even still working there. Hanni or whatever the hell the lady's name is doesn't deserve to be working there at all she is the most difficult and disrespectful pharmacy technician I have ever came in contact with. read more

Everytime I go to this Safeway I spend more time in line then I do shopping! It's absolutely ridiculous! It's the only grocery store in town and there is never enough cashier's! Last time I went I spent 27 minutes waiting in a line that was all the way to the back of the store. There were only two lanes open. All this is happening while I watched a young black man stand behind the counter at customer service and eat a bag of chips on his "break" I'm assuming. Oh Safeway, how I dislike thee. I'm giving three stars because there's nothing uniquely wrong with this particular store. The biggest thing I hate about Safeway is their layout. I honestly feel that they lay out their stores so that you feel as though you're in a casino; you're so confused that you end up buying more than what you came in for. The produce is on the right of the entrance but they display the more expensive organic food prominently. Then they break up the isle flow with truncated small isles and organize the products by nationality. I once went in trying to find my wife some Mexican rice. I went to the Mexican isle and found no rice. After a few minutes I found the rice isle and plenty of rice but no Mexican rice. I went back and forth and played this game for 5 minutes before I gave up. Ironically enough I gave up and found her Mexican rice in the "one box meal" isle (not near either the rice or Mexican isles). How frustrating! I have also spent many countless hours searching for products only to find them in a random place. They put their pharmacy dead center and to the back of the store which causes lines in the back of the store. Up front they put the end of the isles so close to the check out lines that lines form well into the isles which is very annoying for shopping and very annoying if you're in line and someone inadvertently cuts in front of you not seeing that the line has formed in the isle. Their baby isle and personal hygiene isle is opposite the pharmacy in the center which weird. They have a fresh deli and fresh food fast area (pre-cooked chicken, soups, salads) but there is usually a long line. They have a standard bakery area too. Their prices are a bit high but they offer a discount program on gasoline since they have a gas station in their large parking lot up front. On that front, the parking lot is slow because it's shared with a lot of other strip mall type stores which is annoying. Truth be told the only reason I shop here and not on JBLM post (military) is proximity to my house. I'd rather not shop here if I had my choice, but it's as good as you get in this area. All in all I try to avoid shopping here but it's the most prominent grocery store in the area. read more
