Their croissant made a great breakfast treat

The pastries here are so delicious! Everything I've had here is absolutely divine. Friendly service, too.

So good. Went back and tried two new pastries. Took some friends, they took a box home. Everyone says the same thing, it's as close to Paris as you can get without traveling.

This is one of the best kept secrets in Aliso Viejo. The food and pastries are fantastic. The service is great and the selection on bakery items is wonderful. The sandwich's are super good. Take a baguette to go , the best I have ever had.

Indoor seating was quite limited on this cool Superbowl Sunday morning, but the excellence of the food and pleasantness of the staff more than made up for that. A staff member accommodated our party of four by putting two tables together and, although we were greeted with a blast of cool air (some would say "cold" air) each time a customer entered, it was okay. We sat in the aroma of comfort and were glad we came. My Eggs Florentine plate was sizeable and loaded with spinach. The accompanying potato cubes were crunchy on the outside and well-cooked on the inside. here." My wife's omelet was delicate and with the creaminess of a fine cheese. The combination of flavors made me think "I've got to come back." But when I do, it will be in warmer weather or I'll load up on food to go.

    Always smiling employee.

Saffron Bakery might just be the best bakery in Orange County. The croissants are flaky perfection, the muffins are dangerously good, and the bread is the kind of bread that makes you rethink every sad loaf you've ever bought at the grocery store. Show up between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m. and everything is still warm, which is basically the bakery equivalent of winning the lottery. Now, about the name. Saffron Bakery. You'd think they'd be slipping saffron into a pastry somewhere, right? Nope. I've never seen a single saffron-infused anything on the menu, other than a saffron cake on one visit. It's like calling your bakery "Caviar Cakes" or "Truffle Donuts." Bold move. But honestly, when the croissants are this good, they can call it "Toenail Bakery" and I'd still show up. Bonus points for location: it's wedged right next to a dry cleaner and a dentist. So if you drop butter on your shirt or chip a tooth on the crusty baguette, you can solve all your problems in one trip. That's efficiency. Bottom line: Saffron Bakery may not use saffron, but they do use witchcraft-level baking skills. Get there early, get it warm, and thank me later.

Surprise breakfast after our hike,, mention our little local bakery Saffron we all had a special time

And the coffee -- the most important part -- was genuinely excellent. I ordered a flat white, and it was one of the best I've had in the States. Unfortunately, the service was a letdown. It wasn't slow (I was the only customer at the counter), but the basic courtesy and warmth you'd expect at a coffee shop were completely missing. I greeted the barista cheerfully and tried to be friendly, but you would have thought I'd offended her personally. I get that everyone has off days -- maybe I reminded her of someone she didn't like -- but the customer who came in right after me was greeted with a warm smile and a cheerful "Good morning! The usual?" My thank-yous, on the other hand, were met with grunts and glares. All in all, it wasn't the best introduction to Reborn or the most pleasant way to start my day.

It's easily the best I've had in Orange County. Moist, light, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet. I'd even say it has more milk or cream than coffee. It had a potent infusion of something like vanilla or cardamom that I liked, but I wouldn't get it again. Baklava ($6.50): 5/5. The best item I got from Vanilla Street Bakery. Decently sweet with a lovely balance of nuts, dough layers, and infused syrup. I appreciated that it wasn't dripping in a sugary solution; it's definitely more balanced than other baklava I've had. Chocolate Chip Cookie ($5.20): 2/5. A very pillowy, cakey cookie, yet dry and crumbly. The flaky salt on top was a nice touch, but its overall taste and texture didn't deliver a satisfying chocolate chip cookie. Spinach-feta roll ($6.90): 2/5. Staff kindly warmed this up for me without asking, and it looked nice and savory. However, it was extremely dry, doughy, and bland, with hardly any feta. Too bland to enjoy for $7. Eclair ($7.50): 3/5. Chocolate topping and custard filling were good, but the dough was quite dry. Pricey, too! Staff were patient and knowledgeable. Interior has a quaint, cutesy look to it, with different types of seating available. I saw people catching up with friends, reading, or working, so it has a relaxing atmosphere for whatever you feel like doing. In short: most of the pastries unfortunately were very expensive and not worth the cost based on how dry and/or bland they were. Additionally, the highly anticipated Raf Coffee seemed interesting but ended up being too creamy for a coffee drink.

From the start, you're welcomed with the fresh scent of baked bread, fresh pastries, and coffee. I ordered the Ronnie on rye and my husband ordered the eggs Benedict. It was such a delicious twist on a breakfast item to have a hot pastrami sandwich with egg, cheese, hash brown, and extra Dijon. Being pregnant, this was perfect. I tried my husband's eggs Benedict and it was delicious, as well. The bun was so soft and fluffy and created a great base for the dish. Finally, the coffees were nicely balanced and my half sweet vanilla latte had just the right amount of flavor. This cafe is bustling for good reason! Almost every table was full and there were plenty of people inside ready for to-go orders. But, it didn't feel overwhelming and remained welcoming. There's plenty of seating outside so dont be deterred! All of the staff were working hard and were very polite. Can't wait to go back!
