    Sausage roll $7
    Cathrin P C.

I came across Sage at the farmer's market at Stonestown Mall. I'm such a sucker for savory pies. $10 for a meat pie and I've never tried the Hungarian Chicken Paprikash. Being a lamb fan, I really wanted the harissa lamb or red curry lamb but they were closing up shop here so I got the Hungarian and the spicy sausage roll. I was surprised by how much more meat these two items have in contrast to vegetables. I'm more of a carnivore anyway so I'll never complain about too much meat but I feel like both items were a little dense without enough vegetables to contrast. The flaky dough was very tasty and it heated up nicely in the airfryer. My only critique is that they're very small for the price! I didn't realize I was getting a mini personal palm size pie!!

There is something comforting when it comes to a savory pot pie. Today I stopped by and picked up 2 Hot Pies for Lunch, though 1 would have been sufficient if I had bothered to prep a small salad and some fruit. Sage rotates their Hot Pies, and has a bounty of Cold Pies if you want to complete them at home. As for my Lunch the choices were the Beef & Potato jammed full of tasty meat and encased in a wondrous crust, and a Seasonal Veg that was heavy on Potato but still a tasty treat. Established in 2015, their pies are based on the freshest of ingredients. Overall a nice afternoon Lunch option.

We stopped at Sage Bakehouse on Clement St Sunday farmers market. Turned out to be our best stop of the day! Chicken mole hot pie $9 tasted so good when it's fresh out of the oven! Mushroom and Swiss hot pie $8 a bit on the saltier side but a great vegetarian option! Chicken curry pie was sold out right before my turn so didn't get to try it. They also offer frozen cold pies and sweet pies. Can't wait to try more flavors next time!

They're now at the Stonestown Farmers Market on Sundays. Today was their 5th Sunday as I hadn't been here over the last 5 weeks and asked. They've got a menu listing their pot pies. At the top is chicken pot pie. Gotta go with that. Also minced beef with cheddar caught my eye. I bought two chicken pot pies and one minced beef. $9 each. You've got a choice of hot or frozen. I chose frozen. I baked them in my toaster oven later for lunch. I enjoyed my minced beef. The beef was very flavorful and the crust buttery. Hubby was disappointed with the chicken. He thought not enough gravy. The pies are small but satisfying.

Came across this on a typical Sunday morning while I stroll through farmers market located at @stonestowngalleria . I tried the green curry chicken Aussie pie. O-M-G so good. I'd love to try their other pies. I so hope they would expend to South Bay so I can visit more often.

    Sage Bakehouse's delicious pot pies

How can you resist a delicious, piping hot pot pie just like your grammy used to make? You can't. And you shouldn't. Sage Bakehouse has truly mouthwatering to-go pot pies in many combinations from lamb and mushroom, steak and cheese, chicken and vegetables and at least four other varieties including vegetarian. For me, it was all about the savory filling and the double crust: You HAVE to have a top and bottom crust otherwise it's not a true pot pie. I've had the best and made them myself. Sage Bakehouse does it right. Plus, Sage Bakehouse's crusts are both savory and flaky, a total win-win. Either take-away hot and ready to eat or ready to oven heat for 40 minutes, they're perfect. Sage Bakehouse loses a star for their pies being teeny tiny: They could upsize just a bit to justify their $8.50/pie price. Still, I'd buy 'em again: Those pot pies are truly delicious. Sage Bakehouse is a Clement Street Farmers' Market treasure.

Imagine my surprise when I went to the Stonestown Farmers Market for the first time in almost two years to find a legitimate Aussie Pie Stand!!! Savory pies totally beat sweet pies in my book. Pizza pie vs apple pie, Chicken pot pies vs pumpkin pie. That second one is close but I I like when I eat something and my body feels warm and happy, and that's what happened when I had these hand pies!! I purchased the chicken pot pie and the steak and potato ($9/ea). Both were beyond delicious and SO CUTE bc the chicken one had a little baked chicken cutout on it and the beef and potato one a lil slice of potato. When I unwrapped them I "aww'd" like I saw a cute puppy, the thought and effort that goes into that is just amazing! The chicken one had perfectly little cubed carrots celery and chicken (seriously, perfect little squares, and I adore uniformity in my foods!), really soft and moist but not too much gravy which even though it's my favorite beverage after beer, I didn't miss because it was too delicious to worry about. My plan was to eat half the chicken one so I could share with my +1, which turned to 3/4 and THEN before I knew it someone ate my entire pot pie and took a 2 hour nap!!! THE GLUTTONY....was worth it. The steak one was also very flavorful and tender, but I didn't have as much of that one because I slept through all but 2 bites of it. There were also more interesting flavors like curry and lamb which Im sure are good enough to knock you into dreamland top, but I'm a simple gal. I got mine frozen and after leaving in fridge overnight they weren't filly thawed but I followed baking instructions as followed and had no issues. I covered the first 3/4 time with foil then uncovered the last 1/4 because I'm really good at burning pie custs if I don't do that. See you soon mate!

During the pandemic, all the savory pie places have closed in the city. I can't wait to try this little gem. I bought three frozen pies for nine dollars each. Those were the vegetarian ones and they had about seven other meat options. They're open Friday to Sunday 10 AM to 4 PM. 8455 Highway one in Montera.

Our favorite stop at the Clement St. Farmers' Market! The pies are warm, flaky, and delicious. The kind that when you bite in, your eyes go big and you give an audible "MMM..." I hope to try their whole menu, one hot pie at a time. But at $9, the cost is rather steep to try all of them at once. Luckily, they take EBT Market Match dollars and have a buy 5 get 1 free. The staff are friendly, and we get excited each Sunday at the farmers market to visit them.

My favorite stop on the Clement St Farmer's Market! A warm hand pie always hits the spot. Fresh ingredients make the filling pop with flavor; juicy chicken, soft but firm peas, a wonderful creamy sauce, and all enclosed in a delightfully buttery & flaky crust made the chicken pot pie a wonderful treat. If you're looking for a warm savory snack at the farmer's market, this would be my #1 recommendation. One day I'll try all of the flavors!!

Sunday mass is one of many reasons why I haven't visited the Clement Street Farmers Market. Fortunately, I have friends who know my affection for pot pies and happen to live in walking distance of this market. In August, my friends bought me two pies, a beef pot pie and a mushroom pot pie. The directions on written on the paper package so do follow their directions in reheating them. The beef pot pie (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=8updRWAtGSrTq2INFkg5WQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) and its after shot (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=rd9r1eBDNDJTdT3T3UAc2A&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) was hearty and reminded me of a chili pie with the cheese and hearty tomato beef sauce. It's definitely not like the Swanson's or Banquet frozen ones I grew up having... no Marie Callender's wasn't around those days. I forgot to take pictures of the mushroom one and, since I can't even remember the name, it wasn't memorable. In reading about their company, for large parties or family meals, you can pre order them to be picked up at the farmers' market or have them shipped frozen to you. Mine was fresh so I didn't have to worry about any issues about freezer burns or not. Can't comment on that. It is a nice change of pace, having fresh pot pies made. I will likely ask my friend next time to get me a chicken pot pie and one or two of their other menu options.

The preorder box came with randomized drops of what's in season that week, our small box came with Herby Olive Twist, Coffee Caramel Pain Au Chocolat, Strawberry Rhubarb Cruffin, Lamb Pain Suisse. The pastries: they really got their lamination down. The pastry shell is amazingly crispy and really good layers regardless of the type of toppings or fillings it has. The flavor combinations were fun and familiar. It's like getting some of your favorite foods being converted into a croissant. Of the ones we tried I really enjoyed the salty ones like the olive twist and lamb, I was impressed how well the pastry kept crispy even with the sauces. The sweet ones like the caramel were too sweet for me to even finish, but that can be personal preference. After trying all these fun flavors I still think the highlight is def the pastry, will need to try the original croissant next time! Ambiance: the vibe of the bakery was great, lots of hard working ladies and feels like they are passionate about what they do. Bright and airy with lots of pink accents. Would definitely come back again, but probably would not wait over a hour for it because we do have a lot of great bakeries in SF.
