This is my final update. My experience here still angers me 3 months later so I'm here to close this chapter. I came to the realization of one thing that is important to share. Due to my wallet being drained dry from this place, I do not have the financial ability to get weekend emergency care for my cat. I just can not afford it due to the excessive bills I paid here. This realization just kills me. What does this mean? If my cat gets seriously sick, he just has to make it through the night or weekend till I can get him to my normal vet. It's just out of my hands. love my cat and it tears me up. But where do you draw the financial line? It's something you don't want to think about, but you must before you get into a situation like I did... you are completely vulnerable if you're not prepared. I've considered insurance. But the value isn't there. Google "Is pet insurance worth it" and similar terms to do your own research. Just create your own personal "pet fund" and put $30 a month into it. Do the math over you cat or dogs life and you'll see the benefit. This place may as well not exist. It makes me wonder how many pets die as a result of the extraordinary costs. Seeing other reviewers justify the costs makes me sad. Emergency care does not need to cost this much. It can be done cheaper... it's just not available to us in the Tri-Valley. I am extremely stressful with my cancer cat for months. I called them often, they've always been very helpful and return my calls fast. Dr. Borys is very kind, sweet and knowledgeable, she quickly diagnosed my cat's condition and gave my cat excellent care, gave me good advice. She really cares about animals well beings and knows what is the best for them, she never suggested me to do any unnecessary tests or exams like other vets. I had 5 vets for my cat. She's definitely the best. All my animal rescue friends go to sage and they never had bad experience. read more

I have very mixed reviews about this vet... All staff are nice and was assuring they knew a lot about my exotic pets (bunny) I was wrong.. On two different cases both of my bunnies came here for a late night emergency because one was bit by our dog and another bit by a cat. The first time they convinced us to let our girl to stay overnight to check vital signs and keep the IV going... She died few hours later. $900+ gone for no reason. The second time we learned our lesson and let our boy to stay with us at night and drive him over in the day for check up to see what we could do and medications. Over our three visits, they kept saying to let him stay overnight because it would be the best choice but we kept denying it (we thought this wouldn't help him after the first time) Our boy was doing really fine, up and jumping everywhere until he was injected with some sort of antibiotics they gave us. Afterwards he was not the same when we took him home, he completely shut down on us. His head was down and could barely be lifted. His bubbly happy personality was gone. Second visit, we told them he got worse so we took him back to get some sort of healthy dry food that had really good vitamins and iron to replenish everything he lost...Nothing improved. On our very last visit, he stopped eating already.. We took him and they said he was in critical care. They stuck the IV in him but we decided it was best to put him to sleep.. Before we signed any papers to confirm it, we saw him for one last time. Few minutes later he passed away on his own. That night we paid $116 for an IV that essentially did nothing. We stayed in that office for hours for nothing. We were better off treating him at home. Over those three visits for our boy, $700 was shed just to watch his last dying days with us. I truly think they know how to console and convince us to purchase these services but they really don't specialize in exotics pets as both of my bunnies died under their care in 2014. read more

If you want to get ripped of and taken advantage off perfect place. Long story short, pyometra surgery here was estimated between $11k-17k(yes you read right). After they gave me the bad news and told me this surgery was super pricey my wife and I almost made the decision of putting her to sleep, but we decided to take a second opinion. After taking a second opinion the second vet hospital estimated between $3k-$7K. It was 1hr and half drive but I was able to save my pet. Pray to God to have more conscious vet that are here for the people and not the money! Make your judgment, but from me never ever will I bring my dog here. I'm going to speak on how unhelpful this place was and a lot of the 24 hour vets in Hayward and San Leandro and San Ramon when it comes to coming across a lost pet. At one point the non emergency number was called and the officer said to let it free on the street. I found a dog. I am not capable of keeping it. I don't have the space or the tools. Now the dog I found is chewing everything. I do mind keeping it for a night because it needs something to be calmed down or a place it can be awake like with VETs. All the 24 hour vets name drop another place and say they take lost pets but don't. You can hold them for a night and then call animal control. I couldn't call animal control because it was closed. The staff was so wonderful and caring about our Percy Cat. We took him in for an emergency situation, after blood work the Doctor let me know that his Kidney readings were not good so we had to consider quality of life. They were so good to us when we went back to let him go and they had Percy so comfortable. If and when we get another fur baby, and need emergency care, SAGE is where we will take them. read more

SAGE medical had the opportunity to save my cat, but didn't. **For background info: My cat was having a difficult time urinating and he didn't seem to get better as he once did before. This time was different, and I could tell it was painful for him...I was very worried. Sunday, I decided to get him checked out at my local vet. The facility informed me he has a urinary obstruction (very prone for male cats, do your research if you have one), and the procedure would cost around $3k. In desperation for wanting my poor baby to feel better, I trusted them and continued. The treatment was unsuccessful. I was in and out of the veterinary mornings and evenings-- Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, up until i was given no choice but to go to an emergency facility, aka SAGE in Dublin, on Wednesday. I'd already wasted money and very valuable time. Upon arrival, I knew the catheter and previous treatment failed, so ultimately I'd done my research and knew this place performed PU surgery and that's exactly what I wanted to do--for a better chance of a long-run solution. (I'm aware of the risks, but his bladder was so inflamed, the surgery seemed more logical). As every fur parent at an emergency vet, I was eager and anxious to be on the road for recovery already! Dr. Arnold was the first doctor we spoke to, and the doctor who made me realize "I should've gone elsewhere". He was rude, desperately lacked empathy, kept talking over me, and overall just not very pleasant to speak to with his condescending tone. (Fur parents are anxious and stressed 98% of the time at any vet hospital, these facilities should really understand that showing empathy during this time is essentially crucial!) I mentioned that I was very interested in them performing the PU surgery and he was very against it. Dr. Arnold said he wanted to do the SAME treatment my previous vet already tried, again. He also mentioned that he wouldn't even pass my info to their surgeon because he was so opposed to it. I explained that I'm a college student and already spent most of savings at the previous veterinary, I didn't want to do the same thing again because what if it's unsuccessful...AGAIN? I just didn't want to risk it. I also asked if everything on the estimate was extremely essential, knowing they could collect blood tests and X-rays from my previous vet, and he rudely interrupted me with "we don't give discounts". I explained I didn't want a discount, I simply wanted to make sure we weren't doing some tests 2x if it's not necessary, and he cut me off again saying, "we don't do work for free, just because your other vet already did some steps"... EXCUSE ME?! At this point, I didn't even have it in me to argue or even say anything back. I was tired physically and emotionally, and just wanted a solution. I was tired, my kitty was tired. We were desperate for relief. He continued to assure me that this was the best possible route, and they were going to perform the same procedure except a little more aggressively. It sounded very promising, so I took a chance and didn't go forward with the PU surgery. He was there Wednesday night, Thursday all day, then Friday morning I received a call while working. They told me he pulled the catheter out. Basically, during that time, he had reblocked. For the second time. I was extremely devastated--beyond words. They were quick to send me another estimate of another $3k, (would've been $9k total with the previous vet's and SAGE's repeated treatment) to try the same procedure again. Seriously? I received a call from the emergency doctor on duty that day, Dr. Moriss. She was very kind when she was communicating with me, however it was rather odd that the first time we spoke, without her knowing any our vet history, suggested the PU surgery off the bat. Why didn't Dr. Arnold? She starts saying that maybe he has stone that weren't showing up in the x-rays and they could check through sonogram ($300+). Then, if he did have stones, surgery would be roughly around $5-6k. Plus the initial surgery I'd admitted my cat for (PU), $4k. So, here I was. Back at square one, for the 2nd time. My baby still in pain, and me still in pain for knowing that. I wasted all my savings and more, and could simply not afford the PU surgery at this point. i had to put my sweet baby down. One of the hardest day's of my life. Despite all my efforts, I couldn't take him home with me. I lost him. If you love your pets and want better care for them, save yourself the headaches and heartaches and take your fur baby elsewhere. Please. This place is just not worth the risk. read more

We have a very sick puppy. She's been bouncing between vets and vet hospitals for almost a week now.... We finally found a decent vet in the area with an urgent care (in San Ramon) but they close for holidays.... and our puppy needs 'round the clock care. We ended up transferring her to Tri-Valley Animal Emergency Center on New Years Eve for the 48 hours her regular vet was closed. The purpose of this ER/hospital vet facility is to have somewhere to go when no one else is open and/or your family vet doesn't have the fancy diagnostic tools and on site services to accommodate your pet's emergency. Yes, they are very expensive.... but they also have a doctor on site 24/7 and all the tools to do everything they can for your pet, which many other vets cannot provide. The facility is very nice... clean, brand new.... they have 3 different interconnected parts to their facility; one for surgery, one for the ER and one for internal medicine. It seems to be a full-service hospital, tucked away the strip mall across the street from Target and PetSmart. We found the doctors (especially Dr. Lukas) to be very hands-on and helpful. He took the time to explain and answer questions both times we came to visit, and kept a close eye on our pup. If your pet is having an emergency or you need a hospital service (and a regular vet won't do), I'd definitely recommend checking out TVAEC. read more

We brought our very sick Kitty (Hugo) who was battling with life and death -why you wonder because he received terrible aggressive treatment at another Vet Clinic. I cannot thank the doctors here enough for saving my cat. He spent over a week here and they constantly monitored him and called us to give updates on his progress. We were allowed to visit every evening after work and the Vet on duty at that time would spend time talking to us. Their private visiting area was more like a comfort room rather than a sterile exam room with no chairs. The tech's fell in love with Hugo and gave him a nick name "Big Sexy". The staff was friendly, kind and knowledgeable. They have a superior facility and excellent customer service and follow through. Last night we needed to put down our beloved 16 year old dog. We had an at-home plan for the next day but his suffering was too great and we had to seek a 24 hour emergency vet. We headed to SAGE. They allowed my husband and daughter to go back to be with him, which is generous in these Covid times. My family came back to the car praising their experience. They felt he was comfortable and well taken care of and the doctor was incredibly sensitive and kind. Also, they will hold his little body for the three days I need to enable me to take him for the individual cremation service that I desire. read more

The first 3 experiences I've had was amazing with Sage. But our most recent one in December has been very frustrating. For the attending that took care of my dog who came in for an "evaluation" of his torn declaw, the attending had no compassion or sympathy whatsoever to the situation. It was clear and they noted it too that my dog was very anxious the entire time. I hate how I couldn't be there with him to help decrease his anxiety. Any sane person with any animal experience knows German Shepards have extreme separation anxiety from their owners and because of this place/incident, he's now developed a form of trauma. He can't go to his regular veterinary center because of the increase anxiety. It was extremely rude of them to tell me that I need to train my dog because they couldn't control him. My dog IS trained. Ive spent $$$ and worked with his trainers ever since he was 6 months old. Mind you, when he came in during December he was roughly 11 months old. Now he gets extremely triggered and overwhelmed to the point where he presents fear aggression towards any staff member. I have to muzzle him every time we go to the vet, even for a simple vaccination. read more

I feel that I must provide the whole picture before writing about our experience with Sage Veterinary Center in Dublin. They took advantage us during a difficult time when we thought we would lose our dog. Overcharging us, telling us things were covered and adding unnecessary expenses without consent because they knew we would pay. If you do decide to go to Sage, make sure you question their practices and do not let them bully you into making sedation is mandatory. We initially took our 5 1/2 year old 100 pound highly active Black Lab (Trigger) to Bishop Ranch ER on 5/21/20, after we noticed his hind leg was swollen and he could barely walk. Dr. Bain was unable to diagnose what caused the swelling and prescribed, an anti-inflammatory. Friday, 5/22/20, the symptoms progressed more, his leg swelled up about even more and he became more lethargic. We took him back to Bishop Ranch, and this time, he was sedated to have a full blood count and x-rays done. Dr Bain was still unable to provide a diagnosis. Trigger received an antibiotic injection, and a prescription for antibiotics. Sunday, 5/23/20, Not only was Trigger's leg still showing no signs of the swelling going down, his leg was now oozing. Again, we were back at Bishop. We still had no answers because his blood work and cultures were still pending. Trigger was prescribed another type of antibiotic. Wednesday, 5/27/20, Trigger still was not showing any signs of improvement, so it was recommended that we take him to a specialist at Sage Veterinary Center in Dublin. On Thursday, 5/28, Trigger was admitted to Sage on 5/28 and released on 6/1/20. He was evaluated for a necrotic wound along the medial aspect of his right hind leg. This is where our nightmare starts. We received the estimate from Sage $7,535.84 (high end) and agreed. AT this point, we just wanted our Trigger healthy and well and were willing to do whatever we needed to do. We paid a deposit before leaving on 5/28 in the amount of $4258.96 and paid $3,651.64 when we picked him up for a total of $7910.60. (Higher than our original estimate). Wednesday, 6/3/20, we had to bring Trigger back to Sage for a bandage change (Total Estimate: $400.89-$450.89) - This is where you need to beware, they want to sedate your dog every single time they do anything - even a simple bandage change. Total actual cost, $389.56. On this day, Dr. Valverde communicated to us that Trigger needed to have surgery to close the wound. She was 75% sure she could close most of the wound. When asked what that would cost (because Trigger could require additional surgeries to get to 100% closure) Dr Valverde communicated that the surgery would be done but she recommended additional services in order to keep the wound sterile. I asked for 2 estimates, one with the additional recommendations and one without. They only gave me one and when I asked Shannon the nurse, she basically said she did not know what we were talking about. Friday, 6/5/20. Day of Surgery - (Estimate $3082.07 $3772.68) Surgery went well, Dr Valverde was able to close 100% of the wound. The surgery went so well that Trigger was not required to stay overnight. The original estimate included 3 entries for Hospitalization Day/Night Level 1 and 2 Care (potential savings of over $600) Wrong. There were additional charges added (not included in our estimate) that miraculously made up the difference. When I picked up Trigger after surgery, the receptionist in the billing department gave me the amount that was due (less the deposit) was $526.37 MORE than the high end of the estimate. At this point, I asked to speak with her manager, she told me the manager was gone and if there was an error, I would be credited. She then placed me on hold for about 15 minutes and came back and said, I just gave you discount which also miraculously was the difference she tried to overcharge me. Sunday, 6/7/20 - Stiches and bandage start to come undone. There was no way I was taking Trigger back to Sage, so I took him back to Bishop Ranch. I plan to write a separate review for this awesome vet, that changed his bandage with no sedation!!! She also called Sage and it was recommended to her not to remove the drain yet. 6/10/20, Dr Valverde called us to ask if we had scheduled Trigger for a bandage change and wound check. Dr Valverde communicated that sedation was not required. We decided to take him back the next day. 6/11/20, We get to Sage for Triggers appointment. We get the estimate and low and behold, a line item for sedation was added. We tell Shannon, the nurse, that Dr Valverde said it was NOT required. Shannon tells us it is mandatory, and she will not change the bandage without sedation. At that point, we decided we were done with Sage. We had paid over $12K by this time and we knew they were going to continue to do unnecessary procedures because THEY KNEW WE WOULD PAY. Shame on you SAGE for using our dog for your monetary gains. read more

I had a mini-emergency with my dog Moose yesterday evening after hours. My primary vet was closed, so they referred me to Sage's advice nurse line. After speaking with an advice nurse, I brought Moose in and they took him in immediately. They diagnosed the problem, gave him medicine and lots of love, and discharged him about 2 hours later with instructions to come back the next day for a recheck. The Dublin location was conveniently next to a Target, REI, and lots of food options, so I was able to do some shopping and go for ice cream while the 2 hours elapsed. The staff was very friendly, loving, and communicative with both me and Moose's primary vet. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Will definitely come back here. read more

This office is awesome! My cat, Tibby, has seen Dr. Wheeler and Dr. Olincy there. They were both very professional, knowledgeable, caring, personable, they answered all my questions and I can tell they really enjoy what they do. 24-hour Emergency Vet. Priceless service! I couldn't bear to write a review the first time we needed them. It was when we had to say goodbye to our 13 year old "first born", late on a Monday night. But, boy, was I thankful to have them to call. This week, I found myself panicking at 7:30 on a Tuesday night, when my spry young mutt suddenly had a seizure while I was working with her on some training. I thought she was going to die right there on the spot, and my daughters and I were beside ourselves. I called Sage and said I would be on our way... as soon as I could haul the 60 pound girl to the car and get her to Dublin. She came out okay, and everyone on the staff was wonderfully empathetic. (Again.) The doctor really spent a lot of time with me. It was apparent Mei had gotten into something toxic, and we needed to sort out what it might have been in order to treat most effectively. We did a lot of detective work together, putting together her symptoms and the circumstances of her last hours. The doctor offered me three levels of treatment options... from most cautious and expensive (with overnight monitoring) to more self monitoring. I didn't get out of there cheaply, but I don't feel I was gouged either. The prices were fair for what they did, and I don't feel they pushed the upsell. I remain impressed. Great experiences at the SAGE! Our little pomeranian got into accident and was limping so we were nervous and rushed to check if our dog is ok. Our local Vet couldnt take us and they recommended the SAGE. When we first walk in, staff were courteous, facility is nice and clean. Not too long, we got called in for query why the dog needs to be seen. The assistant took the dog to treatment area for weight etc. Next, the doctor came out - Dr. April LeBlanc - very nice and professional. She said our dog is fine actually no need to be seen. She might just had a bit of trauma and gave us some tips to look for. Everything is fast...and because our dog is actually fine - she kindly waived the fee too. This is truly unexpected. We definitely had a great experience no matter what. But the fact they are very nice, sensible, courteous and not always too commercial earn our trust to be the place for our dog! My 14 year old dog had a terrible reaction to some medicine and needed emergency services. SAGE did an EXCELLENT job taking care of him. The Drs. and nurses were kind, caring, patient, understanding, communicated well, and helped me and my dog through a difficult time. I've waited a bit to write this as I wanted to get to a point where I felt like Ellie was past any flare ups with her leg. Back in April we found a lump that was growing on Ellie's leg so we took her in to her regular vet. She ended up requiring surgery to remove a cancerous growth. The surgery went well and the results came back positive. However, they had to remove so much tissue that the skin was pulled extremely tight across the elbow. When I took her in to her regular vet in a panic over the way it looked, the vet wasn't really sure what to do except to send us home and tell us to put cream or vitamin e oil to keep it moisturized. Fast forward a week and Elllie's leg had completely spilt open and exposed the tendons. I took her to Sage to see Dr. Sellmeyer who diagnosed her with a decubitus ulcer. He assured me they would do everything they could to get this to heal. So they wrapped her entire leg in a 'cast' down to the bottom of her paw. She couldn't bend the leg at all. We had to go back in every other day to have the leg checked and re-bandaged. Yes it was getting pretty expensive but we felt it was worth it as the Dr. always explained the progress and the surgery staff was always very kind. After a couple of weeks we were able to reduce the number of visits to once a week. Dr. Sellmeyer also recommended we get a pair of 'Dogleggs'. These are custom made to fit each dog and go over the elbow to protect it from any hard surfaces during the healing process. Finally five months and the sore on Ellie's leg is almost completely healed. It will never be the same and we will always have to keep a close eye on it to make sure the ulcer doesn't return. But without the care of Dr. Sellmeyer and all of the staff at Sage I don't think Ellie would still have that leg. She has returned to full activity and full use of the leg. The muscle has come back completely after atrophying from wearing the bandages for so long. I've read others complaints about being charged for too much money or for unnecessary stuff. I have to say that I feel like on several occasions that I could have been charged more but I was not. I was also able to bring Ellie in anytime I had any concerns about her recovery and the Dr. was always available to talk with me. I can't say enough good things about Sage, the Surgery Staff, Dr. Sellmeyer, and everyone else including Stephanie and Alissa. When one of the cats was lethargic on a Sunday morning, a number of veterinary centers I called were closed or had waiting times of 3-4 hours. The staff at SAGE was friendly and saw the cat promptly. The vet assistant, Kiera, and the vet, Dr. Miller, asked detailed questions and communicated throughout the visit. Dr. Miller even called me afterwards to communicate additional results. They could not have been kinder. The visit was expensive -- $1600 -- but there was no upselling and the costs were communicated upfront. The costs were in line with what an emergency vet visit costs these days. I definitely would recommend. read more

We took our dog Jake to Sage at 2 AM Thursday November 1st, 2019. He was having a lot of trouble breathing and was coughing badly. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and it appeared bleak. He was put on oxygen, given an IV. We received progress reports every couple of hours, with the first being bleak, but the second and others showed improvement. To make a long story short, Jake was in a good recovery mode and we picked him up Saturday evening. He will continue his previous meds along with lasix, a diaretic. He's doing great now, days later. The Sage's staff at all levels was professional and and very caring. Dr Waxmen, the other doctors and techs saved Jake's life. Everyday we get from this point forward is blessing. I was so sadly disappointed with Sage. Our vet recommends Sage for after hour care or in an emergency. My senior dog became very ill & would've passed had we not sought emergency help. I called Sage as suggested and the woman on the phone helping me completely turned me off to using them. In the middle of explaining what was happening with our pup she yawned and I wouldn't have minded had she said sorry or something to that extent, but nope..she just let out a big yawn and said nothing. Then she proceeded to talk to her coworker about how sick she was from eating too much banana bread. Hello what?! So unprofessional, especially in a situation that is so overwhelming. On that note I said byeeeeee and called iron horse vet hospital that a friend recommended. Our senior dog made it and that's all that really mattered at the end of the day. Told me it would be 5 hours or more 9 people in front of me (could have told me when I arrived not an hour later after I called again). When we got to the center, Dr Le Blanc and the staff gave to Alvin an outstanding service. We had the heartbreaking task of taking our 17 yr old cat to SAGE over the weekend. Her condition was rapidly deteriorating but SAGE doctors, nurses, techs and front desk staff were informative, professional, compassionate and caring with us and with our cat Flower. They gave us as much information as they could to help us make the decision that woud be best for Flower. Once we decided we needed to say goodbye, they gave us plenty of time to do so, and we were able to be with her in a quiet, private, relaxing room during the process. Having a senior cat, we knew that day would eventually come, and I'm so happy that we had such wonderful people surrounding us during this difficult process. I had to bring my 18 year old dog in yesterday afternoon because my baby had a hard time breathing and everyone there was so kind and welcoming. I interacted with at least 5 staff members and every single one of them was considerate and competent as well as extremely professional while still being warm. We did unfortunately had to put my Lola down but they let me and my siblings say goodbye, explained every single process and step, made sure we were as comfortable as we could be for that experience and took such immense care of my Lola. I know she was scared and aggressive but they still took such good care of her. I saw our vet talk sweetly with my dog, caressing her gently as she passed and although it was a hard thing to experience, I'm glad I went to Sage. On Sunday night, I had to take my kitty Guinness in. After a quick check, she was diagnosed with Pyrometra. Unfortunately I couldn't afford the cost of surgery here and was bawling my eyes out thinking I was going to have to let my baby girl go. After a chat with the vet, she felt Guinness was stable enough to wait a day for surgery at a day vet, that would be significantly cheaper, which was 100% correct. To add to their generosity, she even waved all the fees so I could out that money towards her surgery the next day. I'm happy that they have staff there 24/7 however they do not show compassion . Some staff are very rude and are all about the money . If you have a certain budget and ask what can You do for my pet with this amount of money they tell you it would be a waste of money a why bother type of attitude . The reason we went to sage is because they had 24/7 care not like some vets that leave pets unattended over night. so if my pet could have got at least 2 days of treatment well that's better then nothing but unfortunately this doctor did not want to even try . Even tho I mention I had pet insurance that I would get reimbursed then pay for more days but they would not listen . The discharge instructions were very unclear . I guess this is kind of dual review - for both SAGE and Trupanion. I'll start with SAGE. My dog has been seen at both this location (Dublin) and the location in Campbell. He has seizure disorder which has proven to be quite difficult and expensive to treat. When he has a seizure, it is always a cluster. Untreated, he may have five or more, so it is imperative that he gets treatment as quickly as possible. SAGE is available 24/7 with great doctors and staff. They also have specialists available - in his case neurologists, but others as well. I really cannot say enough about the doctors and staff. Look, if you are at SAGE, you are already having a really bad day. The staff, from the front of the house, to the back, are all really knowledgable, friendly and compassionate. SAGE is expensive. This is not where you take your pet for routine things. Which brings me to the next part of my review. My dog might not have survived without the incredible care he has received at SAGE. Trupanion insurance made it possible for us to afford the care he needs. Frankly, I would never be without it. The coverage is great, claims are paid promptly, and customer service is exceptional. read more

Went to pick up prescription for my dog on Wednesday afternoon, September 29th in Dublin and was met with a comedy of errors. Their phones weren't working and several people gathered outside their door asking for help and got no response. Sage still doesn't allow people inside, while Bishop Ranch vets do and are only a few miles apart. There was no notice on the door of their problems with the phones and no explanation whatsoever as to what was going on. The people who came to the door were no help and seemed clueless as to why so many people were upset with them. As I left there were five people at the door all clamoring for information and being provided with no help, no answers and no apologies. I will be switching my prescription to another vet that knows how to conduct their business. read more

I took my beloved senior citizen dog to Sage last Sunday, November 1 and it turned out he was going in to congestive heart failure. I spoke to two veterinarians while he was there. They offered my options for his care. Both were very caring. You can tell when a vet is there just for money and when she is there because she loves animals-the people at Sage love animals. The second vet told me it would cost $1000-$2000 to have the cardiologist come in on his day off. I asked if the cardiologist would just tell me the same thing, that his time was up. She told me the truth, my poor dog was suffering and when I said I should end his suffering, she reluctantly agreed. They also let 3 of us in to say goodbye to him when their official policy is only 2 people can go in at once and they let us stay as long as we needed to. They also gave me a partial refund when their original estimate proved too high. I don't think you could ask for more in such an awful time, that's why I am reliving the day just to post this review. read more

Sage saved my dog's life, guaranteed. You get what you pay for people. The vets here are true professionals with great experience and most of them specialize so that if your animal is going through renal failure for no reason, they have a vet that knows absolutely everything there is to know about kidneys. My dog went in there on her death bed with absolutely no kidney function and came out four days later like a new puppy. I will forever be grateful for the compassion they showed my husband and I and for how well they took care of our girl. I also had a cat who had cancer and was on his 9th life. The Sage employees all were so caring and gentle with us about the whole situation. If the animal can be saved and maintain or regain some kind of quality of life, they will tell you what needs to be done and how much it will cost, but they will do what needs to be done and they will do it well. If you have an animal who is just ready to be done hurting, they will honestly tell you that it is time to let them go and will help you have the best last few minutes in a comfy room holding on to your baby. SAGE did a wonderful job guiding us through the difficult diagnosis that we received. The oncology team truly cares about their patients and has stayed in constant communication with us through the entire process. When my dog went into surgery, the oncologist and surgeon called me prior to the procedure to explain everything that would be taking place. They also called me after the procedure to let me know how everything. Went. The day after I picked her up and took her home, they called me to find out how she has been doing since she left the hospital. I have never worked with such a wonderful veterinary team before. I live in Virginia. My mothers fur baby was having life threatening symptoms and she called me to ask where she can go being that I'm a veterinarian myself and being that I'm so far away, she needed some guidance on where to go. I had recommended SAGE DUBLIN and she went straight there. When she got there they tell her she has to go somewhere else. Of course there was already a language barrier because my mom doesn't speak English well. My mother asked me to speak to them and find out why she's being turned away especially with her fur baby's symptoms being so critical. They tell me that they're at capacity. I get it. There's a shortage in vet medicine but the least they could have done was do her vitals. That's the least they could have done. My mother drove halfway to the next location they had told her to go to and her fur baby died in her arms. The level of inconsideration and lack of support breaks my heart for those who have to endure these type of situations. That's what these ER vets are designed for. To be opened 24 hours in the event of an emergency. The nurse even denied just doing some quick vitals and for the cost of what? This experience has been traumatic and I hope that no one ever has to go through that. No one should ever have to feel like they were let down by people they thought they can trust especially when they have signs everywhere saying that they would be there to care for their fur baby. Vitals were the only thing that were vital at the moment and they couldn't even do that. Shame on you Sage. People pay good money to keep your lights on and you couldn't even do vitals. Now my mom has to live with the image of being turned away and losing her baby all at the same time. Honestly, after reading everyone's reviews and the copy/paste response from these people shows that they don't really care. Jiggy is being treated by a specialist, IM, yet wanted to share with you what a great experience we have had with Dr. Jason. He is a wonderful ER Vet and your pet is in great hands with him.
