I finally had the opportunity to visit Sahib. I'd been looking forward to it based on the reviews. I was craving Indian food and had the time, so went for lunch. Honestly the food was just OK. I got the buffet so I could try a few different things. First of all, there was plenty of steam coming from the buffet itself but nothing I got was hot. It was noon and moderately busy so I was quite surprised that nothing was hot. The tandoori chicken had a good taste. The chicken curry was mostly bones and cartilage. The chicken tikka masala was pretty mild but had a decent flavor. The naan was good but it was better by itself as the dips weren't great. The raita especially had a very weird taste and was pretty runny. I'm not saying that I wouldn't go back, but it definitely will not be a regular dining option for me.

Our first visit was for the lunch buffet, we tried the chicken tiki Marsala, chili chicken, the veg mix, nan and even dessert it was SO good! The service was excellent and they have great ambiance, even a bar!

They seemed to be just opening up after a break when I visited, as noted by some regulars who came in while I was waiting for my takeout. Seeing papadums and such granted to the visitors, I was beginning to wonder whether I should have eaten in despite the nice weather. However, I found my takeout bag contained all sorts of things, including a papadum and sauces, as well as rice with whole spices in it, and a lentil soup spiced with something along the lines of a ghost pepper. The option to order chole bhatura as an appetizer resulted in two small but fluffy fried breads and some fantastic chickpeas. For anyone who hasn't tried dipping a fried bread in a chickpea curry which has cinnamon and fruity notes, if that sounds a little strange your tastebuds will likely get on board with this flavor quickly. I added a stir fry of okra and onions; it was a bit heavy on okra stems, good to waste less I guess but I'm still not really a fan of those. Overall, however, this was some quality Indian food with a lot of effort put into it.

Sahib has always been one of my favorite places to dine in the Tri-Cities. I visited yesterday to celebrate my birthday. The experience was wonderful! The service was quick and the staff were very attentive, even asking my name and the proper spelling to add to my birthday dessert. The food was delicious as always. We also had the Curry Mojitos which were fantastic. I love everything about Sahib! If you haven't tried it, this is your sign to!

We first started going to Sahib nearly 20 years ago! Prices did go up obviously but the food is still great. Delicious!

So, while waiting we went upstairs for unusual cocktails: tamarind margarita and Kashmiri sunset. Both delicious and tasted of Indian spices. And because it's Friday, the remarkable vegetable Pani puris were available. Wow: we ate five and could have just eaten those for dinner. Go on Friday or Saturday! But we headed downstairs and ordered three items: Matchstick okra: One of the most unusual foods I've had in a restaurant. Simply delicious. Holy smokes! Uttapam: a vegetable pancake that was very tasty. Sort of like a fritter. Butter chicken: accompanied by a tray of add-ons, this was just a wonderful hearty dish. The atmosphere is loud and bright, with lots of colors. But it is not so loud that you can't have a conversation. Highly recommend: I've been to maybe 20 Asheville restaurants and this is in the top two or three.

This is probably the only Indian restaurant I've dined in that I wouldn't mind going back to in the same week. In a way I did, as my brother in-law first took us to their fast casual spot. In love with the SPDP I asked that we dined at the mothership, and each dish we ordered was terrific! Baingan bartha- bangin, tots and fried puffs - delicious. Saag - lip smacking good, sloppy jai - full of flavor, prawn and kabob scrumptiously charred. Carrot cake and ice cream a perfect ending. If I ever come back Asheville I'm definitely eating here again. Thanks to all the hard work, your love shined today at lunch.

We ordered 3 mains chicken tikka masala, a vegetarian masala and can't think what the third was but it was mainly okra in the dish and a very creamy taste my wife loved it. I've been disappointed by every single popular recommendation. I can get much better pancakes, steaks, biscuits, ice cream, donuts, and pork in Chicago. This place was a much welcomed change from the usual tourist long line, overhyped fare. The flavors were incredible. The chicken was tender. The lentils were delicious. The cilantro jasmine rice was a bit dryer than I like my rice to be and needed the sauce to work, but I was cutting back on my carb intake, so I didn't finish the huge portion of rice they gave me. Oh and the food comes a bit spicy. Maybe that's way locals aren't patronizing this place, but if you can tolerate the spice, this place is must try! Think a more spicy and saucy version of chipotle for anyone who's never tried Indian food before. Service was standard, atmosphere was roomy and clean, I would even go so far as to say bare. They may benefit from adding some art work to the walls. Bathrooms were standard as well. You wouldn't know you were in a fast casual Indian restaurant if it weren't for the music playing and the smell of spice when you enter. I was here for about 40 minutes and I was the only customer the entire time at 1:00pm. Please come check this place out and let me know if you think I'm wrong
